A Friendly Hello!

Hello! Happy Tuesday! I cannot believe it is almost August friends.... The time has been going by so quickly. My girls don't go back to school until September, so we are really enjoying each week, and luckily we've had some beautiful weather. I did take a little time though to create a no-line watercoloured card using the cute YNS Phoebe and Her Wagon stamp set for the latest challenge over on the Your Next Stamp blog - #94 Sketch Challenge. I love the look of no-line watercolouring, so I started by stamping the images with Antique Linen Distress Ink on watercolour paper. I then used a simple palette of watercolours from Michaels to colour in Phoebe and her adorable little dog.

I used a strip of rainbow paper from the YNS Fairytale Magic paper pad, following the sketch, which you can see below, and added some clouds cut with the YNS Stitched Puffy die set. The sentiment is one that's included in the stamp set. I thought it would work perfectly for lots of different occasions, so I decided to leave the inside blank until I have someone in mind to send it to.

I stamped three of the little hearts also included in the stamp set and grabbed some SpiegelMom Scraps sequins to add to the top of the card. (Be sure to use the code KARLA15 to save 15% at the SMS Shop!)

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you are enjoying your summer and having a lovely, crafty week!

FCCB #331 - Birthdays!

Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday Fantabulous Cricut challenge!

Challenge #331-Birthdays
Make a project about Birthdays. But there has to be a least one cut from the Cricut Library!

And the prize is-

A $10 coupon code for anything in the store!

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used. If you use a Cricut Explore machine, at least one cut must be from the Cricut catalog of images. If it isn't a card, you will get two entries into the drawing!

For my project this week I'm using the super cute Paper Pups Cricut cartridge. I love checking out the weekly freebie cuts available in Design Space! It gives me an idea of whether I would use that cartridge or lets me just make a few free cuts that week.  I started off using a fireworks background from Echo Park and added some bright colours of Distress Oxide Ink that matched the paper I used for diecutting.

I coloured in the center of the cloud diecuts with a white Jane Davenport marker before layering them back inside the outlines. I love that the Happy Birthday cut had a border and I layered that on top of some washi tape on an angle.

I found some fun balloon and party sequins in my stash and used them along with some coordinating sequins from the SpiegelMom Scraps shop. A hand drawn string attached the balloons to this cute dog cut with some added sparkly pen details along with black border. I sized the party hat from the same cartridge to fit on his head. I think he looks ready to have fun!

Inside I added an sweet sentiment and paw print from the YNS Phoebe With Her Wagon stamp set and some shiny SpiegelMom Scraps sequins along with some diecut gift boxes. Don't forget to use the code KARLA15 to get 15% off your next purchase at the SMS shop!!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Be sure to head over to the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog to enter your own birthday project (including a Cricut cut) for a chance to win. We'd love to see what you come up with!

Magical Unicorn Birthday Card!

Hello! I hope you are all having a wonderful summer! We're back from a little camping trip this week (check out a few pics on my IG HERE) and enjoying gorgeous weather, so that means being busy with the kids. This afternoon they had some backyard kiddie pool time and I had some crafting time sitting on the deck = win-win ;) I decided to join the Your Next Stamp Color Challenge #93 with the YNS Unicorns Rock stamp set using the colour palette you can check out at the bottom of the post. There is also a sketch you can use instead of, or in combination with, the fun colours this week! The colours in this BoBunny paper are so summery and pretty and they matched perfectly, so I started off by using a Waffle Flower Patched Layers rectangle die to cut my background.

I started off by stamping this cutie with Archival black ink on Bristol cardstock - which I just love for watercolouring! I coloured her in with Jane Davenport Mermaid Markers and cut a circle out with a Kaisercraft Stitched Circle Die. I had some extra embroidery floss around so I decided to crochet a tiny flower and add it to a strand of braided floss along with a cute tassel.

I stamped this awesome sentiment, included in the set, with black ink and then stamped the magical stars with Distress Oxides. A few fancy SpiegelMom Scraps Sequins add just a bit more bling along with some yellow Stickles. Don't forget to use the code KARLA15 to save 15% off at the SpiegelMom Scraps Shop!!

Inside, I stamped the scripty Celebrate sentiment from the Whatnot Sentiments 5 set and added a few more coordinating details.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have an awesome, sunshiny and crafty week!

Kitty Bee Designs - #122 Christmas In July!

Hi Friends! I hope you've been having a lovely week so far! I've had lots of fun creating projects lately and here's one more for you!  It's time for the midweek inspiration for Challenge #122 - Christmas In July, over at the Kitty Bee Designs Challenge Blog - Aloha Friday!

Challenge #122
Christmas In July

Super big thanks to our sponsor for this challenge
A Day for Daisies - http://adayfordaisies.com/
and

The Paper Nest Dolls - http://paper-nest-dolls.myshopify.com/

For this challenge I'm using the adorable Christmas Lights Panda digital stamp from Kitty Bee Designs, which I coloured in with coloured pencils and cut out with a stitched circle die. This little guy is so adorable, and so quick and easy to colour up! I think it's never too early to get started on Christmas cards - you all know how quick the time flies once the fall hits. I love the process of making holiday cards, so why not enjoy it while you have a little down time?!

I used clear Stickles on top of the string of lights to give a little bling and used some pretty SpiegelMom Scraps sequins.

An older Christmas sentiment stamp from my stash was perfect to stamp on another diecut circle cut from seasonal patterned paper that coordinated with the layers of papers underneath.

Inside I used an American Crafts stamp with red Archival Ink and added a snowflake diecut from my Cricut.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Be sure to check out the Kitty Bee Designs Aloha Friday Challenge to see all the inspiration from the other awesome Design Team members - and enter your own project HERE for a chance to win!! Have a wonderful weekend!

I wanted to pop in today to share a video I have on the Canvas Corp Brands YouTube Channel - 6 Cute Card Ideas Using Cricut & Canvas Corp Papers.  Canvas Corp has tons of amazing papers, but for this project I used two paper packs - Canvas Corp Solid Printed Cardstock Rainbow Paper Collection and Canvas Corp Lots of Color Paper Collection to create 6 quick, easy and fun cards with my Cricut that I gave to my daughter's teacher as an end of the year gift. Now she'll have some handmade cards she can give out to her friends!

I had a lot of fun creating these bright cards and I hope they'll make someone else's day special!
