Many Thanks Teacher Card!

Hello! Today I'm sharing another back to school card over on the Scrap Shotz Blog using images and sentiments from Hello Bluebird Just Sayin'Mama Elephant Mini Everyday Messages and Lawn Fawn So Owlsome stamp sets. I love how fun combining stamp sets can be! I grabbed a watercolour background from my stash and layered on a border diecut from Your Next Stamp. I'm sure one of my girls teachers is going to love it!

Inside, I stamped a sentiment and this cute tiny ruler using the Studio Katia Kobi Loves School stamp set.

Die Cuttin' Divas Guest Designer... Ch #435 Thinking Of You

Hello friends! I am so super excited to be joining the fabulous Die Cuttin' Divas this week for Challenge # 435 Thinking Of You!! You will find so much amazing inspiration using diecuts - and you can enter with whatever diecutting method you choose! This is the perfect opportunity to get out any of your electronic or manual diecutting machines and play around. I just love the theme this week... I think we can all use more thinking of you cards, so I decided to cut this one using a premade project in Cricut Design Space. I changed the colours and used Kaisercraft patterned paper to create a soft, watercolour card. You can find the link to the project in Design Space HERE.

I layered on each of the diecuts and glued them using Tacky Glue and foam tape to create dimension. I love using the premade projects in Design Space and then customizing them to fit my style.

I used Nuvo Crystal Drops in pink and silver to add flower centers and as embellishments to the card. A bit of Distress Oxide Inks add some shading to the edge of the flowers, and the marbled paper in the background adds just a subtle colour variation.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Be sure to head over to the Die Cuttin' Divas Blog to see what all the other designers have come up with for this challenge, and link your own Thinking Of You project! We love to see all the amazing inspiration 💜

Happy Fall Owl Teacher Card!

Hello friends! I can't believe how quickly August is flying by! It's all too easy for bedtimes to be pushed a bit later and the girls seem to adjust to sleeping in all to quickly. With back to school coming September 2nd, I'm feeling the need to try to get back to a bit of a routine while still enjoying the warm weather and lazy days. We spent the last few days doing lots of organizing - I know when I get that feeling I need to grab a hold of it since I'll run out of steam or time soon enough. The funny thing about organizing is it's addictive! Pretty soon the girls are cleaning their rooms and Mike's cleaning the garage... and then we are all left feeling great about our accomplishments. Now, don't get me wrong, there are still plenty of spaces left to purge, clean and organize, but for right now there's a few very tidy areas that have me smiling every time I walk by them. When I'm feeling the need for a little break I just grab a few crafty supplies and colour up some cute images, which today turned into a very sweet teacher card ready to tuck into a new backpack for the first day back to school.

I started off with a Distress Oxide Inked background from a piece of paper I was playing with a few days ago. I used my craft mat to squish the inks on my mat, spritzed them with water and dipped my paper in, drying in between dips until I had an effect I liked. I had a CTMH alphabet embossed folder which I used to emboss the background and then sponged on some brown Oxide Ink to highlight the raised areas.

The cute owls from the Lawn Fawn So Owlsome Set are coloured on Bristol Cardstock with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. I used some white gel pen to add highlights and added Glossy Accents to the green apple. I used a Happy Fall Line Border diecut sentiment that was included in one of the SCT Sampler Packs and added trees and a small cloud from the Lawn Fawn Center Window Picture Card Die and Add On sets along with Studio Katia Clouds cut from some pre-inked papers in my stash. The larger apple is from the CTMH School Kids Stamp Set.

Inside, I used a 'hello' sentiment from Hello Bluebird Just Sayin', 'teacher' from Studio Katia Kobi Loves School, and you're owlsome' from the Lawn Fawn So Owlsome set. I love how well these all worked together!

I had fun pulling out all my teacher/back to school stamps and crafty goodies to create a cute card. Just by having a few different sets in front of me at a time I was able to combine them and their sentiments for a lot more options. Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderful, crafty weekend!

Snarky Coffee Chick!

Hey there! Hope you're having a great weekend. We had a big Saturday a.m. breakfast today with the kids - bacon, pancakes, eggs, fruit, fried potatoes... and of course coffee for the grownups! I love coffee, so as soon as I saw this cute Coffee Chick digital stamp from Gerda Steiner Designs I knew I wanted to use her paired with a sentiment from the Tim Holtz Snarky Small Talk Sticker Book. I grabbed some new Vicki Boutin Wildflower and Honey papers that were included in the latest SCT Sampler Pack and added a few SpiegelMom Scrap Sequins for a fun card - perfect for a coffee lover. Watercolour Gift Card and Bag Set!

Hello my friends! I'm so happy to be over on the Wild Whisper Designs blog today to share a card and gift bag set using the beautiful new Pam Bray - Watercolor 12x12 Paper PackFloral 4x6 Stamp Set and Pine Dreams Embossing Powder from the Wild Whisper Shop. This was such a fun gift set to create! I love watercolouring with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, so I started out by using them to colour in the flowers from the stamp set, matching the colours to the lovely Watercolor Papers which are designed by the sweet and talented Pam Bray together with Wild Whisper. I used the DIY Gift Bag Cricut Pattern in Design Space to quickly diecut the gift bag - I love that I was able to showcase both sides of the 12x12 paper with the fold over edge design! I even pulled out my We R Memory Keepers Foil Quill to add a quick Enjoy sentiment to the matching gift tag.

Enjoy The Ride Card!

Hello! I sure hope you're having a great weekend! It is 'Vrooming by' 😉 for us just like these cute pups from the Gerda Steiner Designs Dog On Scooter Vrooming By digital stamp! I do really love how easy it is to resize and print as many 'stamped images' as you'd like with digis. I grabbed some fun Shimelle Sparkle City papers from a previous SCT Sampler Pack to use as a background scene and used the Jillibean Soup Enjoy The Ride sticker from the same pack for my sentiment.

ADVNTR Pocket Page Scrapbooking!

Hello! It's another sunny day here in Calgary, and I wanted to share two more summer layouts. I'm over on the Wild Whisper blog today using the new Road Trip Collection which is so awesome! I love creating pocket pages for events where I have quite a few pictures, like this camping trip we went on a few years ago. The Card Pack was perfect to add to my pages and I used the rest of the collection to kick it up a notch and embellish for fun finished layouts.

The Licence Plate Stamp Set is one of my favourites, and I have had so much fun creating neat titles!

Smile Layout & Card Set!

Hello! Well, I cannot believe it is August already! We've really been enjoying the finally warm weather and the girls have had fun being home from school. We fully intend to enjoy this month before heading back to routines in September! I'm over on the Emerald Creek Craft Supplies blog today with a layout for the new High Hopes Anything Goes challenge this month. I used lots of fun Emerald Creek powders to customize diecuts so they matched the Carta Bella En Vogue papers I used. This is a great way to make your own embellishments! I cut my titles and all the diecuts with my Cricut Maker and had fun getting melty.

I even created two cards using the cut apart journaling card sheet from Carta Bella. I used the Glistening Glass Embossing Powder to create a faux epoxy sticker look on the fussy cut purses and added them to the cards for a pop of dimension.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Be sure to head over to the Emerald Creek Craft Supplies blog to get a full supply list, closeups and details on how to enter the challenge! Remember, it's Anything Goes!!

Under The Sea Summer Layout!

Hello! We went camping a couple weeks ago and even though the water was a bit chilly, the girls wanted to get in with their floaties. I think they may have spent more time laying on the beach than getting in the water though! I'm over on the Southern Ridge Trading Company Blog today with this layout using photos from our trip, and I love how the Southern Ridge Mermaid Mix Chipboard Set and Fish Net Stencil fit right in with this theme! My daughter, Amie, who is 12, helped me create this layout. I love how crafty she is!

You can see the process Amie & I used to create this layout here in this video.

Supplies:
Dylusions Ink Sprays and Paints
Project Life App to print photos and journaling
Tattered Angels Chalk Mist
Dies from Lawn Fawn and Kaisercraft
