Halloween Treats!

My girls are so excited about Halloween, and one of the things they love to do is give out treats to their friends at this time of the year! I recently saw these adorable diecut witch hats on a fellow blogger's post and thought they'd be perfect to add to Erica's treat bags. You can find this super cute Witch Hat Lollipop Holder FREEBIE svg file here from SVG Cuts.

I also wanted to make up some cute tags for the bags, so I started by making a grid in a word processing program on my computer and inserting the Halloween digital stamps and sentiments from Pretty Cute Stamps. I originally made these as Lunch Box Notes, but figured they'd also work great to add to a tag. I left them uncoloured and added crayons to the treat bags so the kids could colour them after eating their candy. 'Cause you know a 4 year old is eating the candy first, lol!

I used the label feature on my computer to quickly create this sheet of labels - adding a sentiment from the Werewolf digital stamp set from Pretty Cute Stamps and typing in Erica's name below. After I stuck the stickers to the back of the tags, these cute bags were ready to tie up and head to the class party!

I thought these cute tags finished off the treat bags so nicely!

Here's Erica all ready to celebrate. She's actually planning on being a witch for the big day but wanted to change it up for today. And, hey, when you're 4 that's just how you roll!

Thanks for stopping by today! If you're celebrating Halloween, I hope you have lots of spooky fun!

Pretty Cute Stamps September New Release Sneak Peek!

Woo Hoo! It's time for Sneak Peeks from the the September Digital Stamps New Releases from Pretty Cute Stamps! I don't know how Lisa does it, but she just comes up with the most awesome images each month, and this month is no exception!

This month, I get to show you what I've created with two new digital stamp sets - Lunch Box Faces and Lunch Box Notes! I was so super excited to see these adorable stamps!! You may already know, but for the last 3 years I've been giving my daughter lunch box notes almost everyday. She absolutely loves them, saves them all, and often looks through them! It makes her day to know that I took a few minutes to make a cute note and tell her how much I love her.

I started by making a grid in my word processing program. I simply chose to insert a 'table' and designed it to be the width and height I wanted. I then had 9 individual boxes to add my cute images to! I added a photo and sentiment from the Lunch Box Faces and Lunch Box Notes to each grid and printed them off. I saved my template so I could print these whenever I wanted!

I coloured my images in with Prismacolor and Hobby Colour Markers and added some details with white and clear gel pens.

Then, I layered my cut apart images on top of some 3" square background cardstock and coordinating patterned papers from my stash.

My daughter gave me the thumbs up when she saw these, and I was pretty happy with how they turned out too! It's a fun way for me to have some creative time, while letting her know how much she means to me - so a win-win!!

And just for stopping by, here's a super cute FREEBIE digital release set for you!!

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used. If you use a Cricut Explore machine, at least one cut must be from the Cricut catalog of images.

If it isn't a card, you will get two entries into the drawing!

I can't believe our summer vacation is coming to an end! We really have enjoyed a great 2 month break though, and in some respects it will be nice to get back into the swing of things, but I'm not sure if I'm quite ready for early mornings yet! I did want to get caught up on making lunch notes for my daughter, though, and this was the perfect opportunity to do that!

I started off by setting up 3x3" squares in Cricut Design Space and adding a square border from the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge. I changed the border to the Write feature and used different pens to add borders to my lunch box notes. Next, I chose images from the CTMH Artistry cartridge and sized them to fit inside my cards, leaving room to stamp with cute sayings from Pretty Cute Stamps. I added some coordinating Distress Ink around the edges.

The mustache sentiment is from Best Dad Evah, and the tea sentiment is from Tea-rrific.

The fox sentiment and tiny hearts are from Forest Friends, and the whale sentiment is from Sea Life Sentiments.

This cute pumpkin sentiment and sweet face is from Little Pumpkins, and I added these fun Spring Blooms sequins that I'm absolutely in LOVE with from SpiegelMom Scraps!

Thanks so much for stopping by today, and be sure to head over to the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog to check out all the other awesome Back To School themed projects! We'd love to see what you're up to as well!

Pretty Cute Stamps July Challenge - Under The Sea!

It's time for a brand new challenge on the Pretty Cute Stamps blog! This month the theme is By The Sea, and with all the amazing new release stamps from June and July you'll be sure to find lots of inspiration to make a lovely sea project!

For my challenge project I chose to make lunch box notes for my 9 year old. I started making her little notes for her lunch in Grade 1, and she loved them so much, kept them in a special box and still sorts through them every once in a while, that I just don't feel right not sending them with her! So, I'm trying to get some done up ahead of time - and using these adorable Sea Ya Soon underwater animal digital stamps was the perfect opportunity! I started off by using some pretty 6x6 papers as a background and then layered on my coloured sea creatures, which I coloured with Prismacolor and Hobby Colour Markers after printing on white cardstock. I love that I can print these out whatever size I want depending on my project.

I used the Otterly Amazing stamp set to add paper pieced hearts and sea shells to my notes and the Sea Life Sentiments stamp set, which is is now available as a digital stamp set, on the back of each card. I heat embossed the words with a pretty green sparkly embossing powder. Below you can see the coordinating sentiment I used on the back of each note. A few pretty sequins from 28 Lilac Lane add some sea sparkle!

Here's a look at these 3 wonderful stamp sets. Don't forget the Otterly Amazing set is still available for a limited time as a clear stamp!

Thankful Lunch Box Notes and Pilgrim Hat Treat Holder!

I'm posting today on the Pretty Cute Stamps blog and wanted to share these lunch box notes I recently made for my daughter, Amie, who is 8. She LOVES having a lunchbox note in her lunch everday she goes to school. Now, I don't always make spectacular lunchbox notes, lol! Sometimes it's just a 3x3 piece of cardstock with a couple pieces of paper or a sticker or flowers on it with a sentiment stamped on the back - but I always put one in and that's just our special thing!

I started off by cutting watercolour paper into 3x3 squares. Then, I put some Distress Stains on my craft sheet, spritzed with water, and put my paper into it, moving it around a bit until I got the desired effect. After drying, I added some bits of fall paper I had in my stash. I used the Thanksgiving Eats adorable stamp set from Pretty Cute Stamps, stamped on watercolour paper to add my yummy Thanksgiving images. I used Distress and Tombow Markers to watercolour my images in and added Stickles for lots of glittery fun!

Here's the back of the cards - I love all these awesome sentiments included in the set!

I used the Sew Amazing stamp set to add running and zigzag stitches to my cards, and then added a bit of Glossy Accents to my hearts.

Here's a look at this sweet set!
Thanksgiving Eats
I also wanted to share this sweet little Pilgrim Hat Treat Holder, which is a cut file from Pretty Paper Pretty Ribbons. I made 8 of these for our Thanksgiving Dinner a couple of weeks ago, and they were super easy to cut out with my Cricut Explore! I stamped the sentiment from the Thanksgiving Eats stamp set and heat embossed with white embossing powder before gluing my hats together. Everyone thought they were awesome!

Thanks so much for joining me today! Don't forget our Thank You Challenge is going on right now - you can enter your own project with a Pretty Cute Stamps stamp for a chance to win a gift certificate!!

FCCB #259 - Back To School!

Welcome to another Challenge Me Monday...

Challenge #259 Back to School
Make a project featuring school related activities or teachers!

This Weeks Sponsor:

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used. If you use a Cricut Explore machine, at least one cut must be from the Cricut catalog of images.

And, if you submit a project in our challenge that isn't a card, you will get two entries for a chance to win the prize instead of one!

For my project this week I created some lunch box notes for my 8 year old daughter who is going into Grade 3! I can't believe it!! Last September I started off the year making a few notes - well she loved them so much and was so disappointed when she didn't get one that I ended up giving her one everyday! She actually keeps them all and looks through them quite often :) Something little that makes her that happy actually makes it worth it, but I just realized I'd better get working on getting these babies stockpiled!

I used a few different cuts to make these fun note cards -
Cricut cuts are:
CREATE  and the CHEVRON cut are from ZOB
The GLASSES are from Party Photo Props
The SQUARE bases are from Basic Shapes
YOUR WORLD IS YOUR CANVAS quote is from Phone Decals

Then I used Miss Kate's Cuttables files:
School Supplies Set and
School Supply Set for all the fun school supplies on the cards.

I used some stencils and Distress Inks to stencil in some backgrounds on my card bases and even used the Write feature for the quote - love that feature! I used Prismacolor Markers to shade my cuts to add a realistic shaded look to them before adding them on the square backgrounds.

On the back I always write a little note to my daughter, but I also wanted to include some of the Small Talk stickers from Tim Holtz - great quotes!

Thanks so much for joining me today! I can't wait for you to check out what all the other Design Team members have come up with too on the Fantabulous Cricut blog! Don't forget to enter your own project for a chance to win a wonderful prize - just make sure you have at least 1 Cricut cut and let us know what cartridge you used. Plus you get an extra entry for any projects that are not a card - how cool is that?!!

I added some of the stars included in the set - I love how beautifully these stamp! and a sentiment on the front and then another on the back (see below).

Here's a look at the fronts and backs of each card!

My daughter was super pleased to get these in her lunch! Here's a look at the sets I used:

Pretty Cute Stamps Feature - Mini Valentines!

I have a fantastic new stamp set to show you today from the last release at Pretty Cute Stamps!! Of course with Valentines Day approaching I wanted to create some cute Valentines Cards to send out. I used the Be Mine set with so many wonderful sentiments and images!

I started out by embossing the stamped images on watercolour paper with white embossing powder, and then I used Distress Markers to watercolour around the images, softening the edges with extra water on my paintbrush.

I layered the watercolour paper on top of a strip of pink paper and rounded two corners of my mini cards.

Here's a close up of each card front and the inside sentiment I paired with them.

Of course, I had to make my daughter some lunch box notes! She said her favourite was the glasses which I added a heart stamp inside and Glossy Accents to! On the back I stamped the coordinating sentiments that I used above.

Thank you so much for joining me today!! Be sure to pop over to the Pretty Cute Stamps store to check out your favourite stamp sets! Have a lovely, crafty week ;)
