Sew Sweet Pea Love Pattern with Cricut and a Giveaway!!

Hello friends! I hope you had a great weekend! I'm back today with a fun project you just might want to try, and a fun GIVEAWAY below!!  I made this as a gift for my niece and actually used this Canvas Tote as the gift bag to give her birthday gifts in! If you haven't heard of Sew Sweet Pea, you'll definitely want to check them out! They are a family run business with beautiful sewing patterns that can be cut with your electronic cutters using the SVG pattern file! Now, if you don't have an electronic machine you can still cut out their beautiful patterns by hand using the downloadable PDF. They also include lots of information on how it goes together and even give you instructions on how to applique and what kind of stitches you can use! I decided to cut the Love Cushion Applique Sewing Pattern pieces out of Natalie Malan Patterned Iron-On Vinyl using my Cricut Maker, but you can just as easily cut them from fabric.
I love that the Love word and hearts actually form a heart! I thought these pretty Patterned Iron-On colours actually looked like fabric! Don't forget to mirror your cuts when you're using Iron-On! One of the files that comes in the download is actually mirrored so you won't forget - and yeah I'm saying that because you know I forgot, lol! I left my hearts 'backwards' but I had to recut the Love... Oh well!

Here's a quick video where you can see how easy it is to upload this pattern into Cricut Design Space! Don't forget after you have it you can use it to cut fabric, vinyl, iron-on, paper and more!!

I trimmed close to the backing material so I could layer each heart and letter on and iron them on at one time with my Cricut EasyPress 2 and the EasyPress Mat. I'm telling you the EasyPress 2 and Mat is a game changer! I pressed for the recommended time and then removed the liner pieces and I love how it turned out!!

Now for the Giveaway!! I have 3 vouchers sponsored by Sew Sweet Pea!

FCCB #319 - Valentines Day!

Happy Monday and welcome to another Fantabulous Cricut Monday challenge!

Challenge #319 - Valentines Day!
Make a project using anything heart/Valentine related. But there has to be a least one cut from the Cricut Library!

This Weeks Sponsor is-
Printable Cuttable Creatables
And the prize is-

$25 Virtual Wallet!!!!

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used. If you use a Cricut Explore machine, at least one cut must be from the Cricut catalog of images. If it isn't a card, you will get two entries into the drawing!

For my project this week I'm using the Sweethearts Cricut cartridge to cut out the large heart and the Love sentiment, along with the Giraffes In Love PCC SVG file to create a sweet Valentine card! I started out by adding a subtle stenciled background using some purple and orange Distress Inks and a heart stencil, and then adding some iridescent embossing powder for shine.  I coated the large heart diecut with Tattered Angels Cupcake Glimmer Glam, which has great chunky glitter in it, before layering it on a pieced of pink patterned paper misted with some shimmery spray.

I cut out these adorable giraffes and added some Distress Inks to the edges and then layered them on my card. I put some Tattered Angels Chalk Chalkboard Mist into my Wink Of Stella pen that was almost empty and love that it gives a shimmery painted look to the little hearts that come with the giraffe diecut. I added some foam dots to the top layer of the hearts for dimension. A few SpiegelMom Scraps sequins and some white gel pen finish off my embellishing.

Inside I stamped a Valentine sentiment and added some more pretty sequins.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Be sure to head over to the FCCB Blog to see what all the other Design Team members have come up with - and enter your own Valentine project that includes a Cricut cut for a chance to win an awesome prize from Printable Cuttable Creatables!

All You Need Is Love and Coffee!

Hi friends! Happy Valentines Day! I really think that sentiment sums it up ;) One of my fav things my hubby does is the awesome lattes he makes on the weekends. I don't think I could live without coffee some days! So here is the Valentines card I created for him. These Coffee Faces and Coffee Sentiments clear stamps from Pretty Cute Stamps are a couple of my favourites, and I love how many different sentiments for so many occasions are included!

I started off with a piece of resist kraft printed background paper from a Tim Holtz paper pad. I used my pinks, reds and tea dye Distress Stains to colour the paper that I first had sponged with Picket Fence Distress Ink (to give it a lighter base). I love how the resist pops through!

Then, I layered on a square journaling card and added some CMTH coffee stain stamps. I used the coordinating SVG files from Pretty Cute Stamps to first cut out the images with one of my favourite tools - my Cricut Explore, and then I was able to easily stamp the images before colouring with Prismacolor and Hobby Colour Markers. I added the sweet faces on after, heat embossing the white one.

I added a couple diecut hearts and sequins from SpiegelMom Scraps and popped up the coffee press. These neat beans on the bottom of the card are included in the PCS coffee set.

Inside, I added some extra coffee stain stamps and the I Love You A Latte sentiment from the PCS Coffee Sentiments set. The Happy Valentines Day stamp is from the Tim Holtz Crazy Talk set, and I decorated the envelope to match.

Mike was very happy to get open his card this morning, and of course he got some chocolate to go along with it! We always do a little something special with the girls and they loved opening some handmade cards, chocolate and little stuffed animals. I was very lucky to get beautiful white roses, a lovely card and some yummy candy! I think making someone feel special, whether its for Valentines or any day, is something they will carry with them for a long time.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you have a day filled with love, and of course a little craftiness!

Cookie Jar Card!

Happy Monday! Today, I wanted to share with you this cookie jar card I made using my Cricut and some of the adorable stamps from the Pretty Cute Stamps Milk and Cookies stamp set.

I love these happy little cookies with their cute little faces! I bet they'd also look cute as white chocolate chips with cranberries... Hmmm, now I'm getting hungry!

I used a cut file by Lorrie Nunemaker for the sentiment inside the card by changing the file to the write feature and then colouring in the letters and mixing bowl with markers. The other baking supplies are from a cut file from the My Treasured Kutz store.

I used the heart stamp from the set on my little tag tied with twine and included a Biscotti Tea to send along to a friend - 'cause who doesn't love cookies and tea?!!

Here's a close up of this sweet stamp set. I love all the cute accessories they have!

Thanks so much for joining me today! Have a happy, crafty week!

FCCB #246 - St. Patrick's Day!

Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge!

Challenge #246 - St.Patrick's Day and/or Something Green

This Weeks Sponsor
digiplayground.com

There will be 3 winners of $7 gift certificates!

Create a project inspired by St. Patrick's Day or make something Green!

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used.

For my project today I made a tag and a card using the Cricut and SVG cuts from Digiplayground.

I cut the tag base from Ashlyn's alphabet and the shadow girl from the Forever Young cartridge using my Cricut Explore. The font and all the shamrocks are from the Digiplayground St. Patrick's Cutables, Set of 6 SVG set. I removed the flower that was on the girl's dress and replaced it with a shamrock - I think she looks ready to celebrate ;) I love this seam binding ribbon! I used the new Pistachio green stain from Tim Holtz along with Peeled Paint stain and misted with water before scrunching it up to dry.

I was having so much fun with the St. Paddy's day cuts from Digiplayground that I had to finish with a card! I used the Cricut to cut the bracket card base from the Phrases cartridge, and I placed the SVG St. Patrick's Day cuts on the front.

Love this pretty Scroll script!

Inside, I stamped a sentiment from CTMH and layered it on some green paper before attaching it to the card base.
