Hello friends! I sure hope you've had a wonderful week and are looking forward to the week ahead! I find the weekend goes so quick, but I do try to set aside some downtime for myself. My daughter had her 12th birthday party this weekend, and we had so much fun! It's certainly hard to believe how quickly time flies... I'm making some baby pages today and looking back at the girls when they were tiny, using some pretty chipboard pieces from Sourthern Ridge Trading Company along with a pretty heart stencil I am totally loving!
I decided to join the Scrapbook & Cards today SCT 2019 365 Online Class this year for a year full of inspirational sketches - so this is how I started this layout using the January sketch. Hello! I'm so excited to be joining the Lasting Memories Scrapbook Challenge Blog as a Guest Designer for another challenge week! This month the theme is Fall Events, and since October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, this week our challenge is to create a layout about breast cancer or create a monochromatic pink layout. I am so fortunate that I don't have someone who has suffered from breast cancer in my immediate family, so I decided to create a pink layout in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. These photos are from when my youngest daughter, Erica, now 6, was born and her two older sisters came to meet her! I combined two different pink papers, using the fronts and the backsides and then layered the base on a pink watercolour background.
I grabbed a few pink embellishments from my stash and layered them, along with some pretty SpiegelMom Scraps pink sequins. (PS Use the code KARLA15 to save 15% off in the SMS Shop!)
I added a few more embellishments along with bottom of the photos and layered them over a journaling card from a cut apart sheet. You can see the Tattered Angels Tutti Frutti Glimmer Mist I smooshed onto the white cardstock background peeking out from behind the embellishments.

Hi! I'm always super excited to see what's in the Scrap Shotz Monthly Scrapbooking Kit, and this month they are featuring the beautiful Kaisercraft Pen & Ink collection along with some other fabulous goodies! I've created two pretty baby layouts using the papers in this collection and I just love how they turned out! I added some light Distress Ink and Oxide colours and for the first sketch I used the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine Sketch for May. The neutrals matched my photos so perfectly!
For my second layout I layered the diecut Frame paper on a piece of the patterned paper and really love how this turned out! All the kit elements coordinate so beautifully for a gorgeous layout, and a few SpiegelMom Scraps sequins add a bit of bling as a finishing touch!

I printed this cute giraffe out onto kraft cardstock and then cut him out with a stitched circle die. I picked up some Gamsol a while ago and wanted to try it out with my Jane Davenport Magic Wand coloured pencils, and I'm excited about how it turned out! I used some paper stumps from Michaels to apply the Gamsol and blend the coloured pencils. There are lots of tutorials on YouTube, and it's a fun way to change up some of your colouring techniques.
Inside I added a sentiment from Your Next Stamp, stamped with Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide Ink for the Congratulations and Black Archival ink for the rest of the sentiment.
I layered on some Canvas Corp papers and added some floss, a flower and a button along with a few sequins and some bling to finish it of.

On November 24th my baby sister, Rayme, had a beautiful baby girl - after a very long and hard labour. She deserves a medal for all she went through! I am a very proud Auntie of new little Emily - and I think she's gorgeous!!
(And, I finally downloaded the Pic, Tap, Go app (that I used to brighten this pic up) and love it! Can't believe I waited so long to get it!!) So, of course I needed to send Miss Emily some handmade gifts and thought I'd share them with you too! I had this cute quilt topper in my fabric stash and didn't even realize it had the same images that are in the Kate's ABC's Cricut cartridge!
I cut lots of images from this adorable Kate's ABC's cartridge and Mod Podged them onto a canvas background covered with a background of patterned papers. The sunshine and clouds are from a Miss Kate Cuttables SVG download and I welded the diecut letters before cutting them out. After I glued all my images down I traced around them with a black pen and used some brown Distress Marker to watercolour in some shading. A bit of white gel pen and some stencilled glittery hearts add the finishing touch.
Since the quilt top was narrow and could have been used for a wallhanging, I decided to add a strip of pink fabric on each side to create a crib quilt size. I used some coordinating flannel fabric for the back of the quilt. Here's Erica showing it off! She was very excited to have a new cousin :)
And lastly, I had to make one of these adorable little crocheted Froggy Security Blankets from some pretty, soft baby yarn! I made one of these for Erica before she was born and she still sleeps with it. <3
My sister, Rayme, got our package the day before she went into labour. I'm happy to say both mom and baby are healthy and happy and we are so pleased to have another little member in our family! Hey there crafty friends! I'm super excited to be Guest Designing today at the SpiegelMom Scraps Blog - what an honor! Today, I'm sharing a layout that I made of my youngest daughter, Erica, when she was just a year old. Wow - time flies - she's now almost 5!
I started off using a sketch from the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine website and layered papers and stickers from the Echo Park Petticoats and Pinstripes collection by Lori Whitlock. I just love these papers, and the pretty sequins from the Pinky Pie, Spring Blooms and Let's Be Mermaids Sequin Mixes from the SpiegelMom Scraps Shop were the perfect embellishments! I love using a sketch as a starting point, then choosing my photos, papers and embellishments.
These wonderful Cork Chevrons are so awesome for layering! I pulled out some paper ephemera diecuts from a My Mind's Eye All Things Girl package to add to my layout. I love the vintage feel of these diecuts!
I used the tiny silver stars from the Pinky Pie collection on this pretty crown, which I layered over a sticker from the EP collection pack. I added some handwritten journaling and stamped the date with an Amy Tan date stamp. I love that a lot of the paper packs come with coordinated journaling cards in them. Even if I choose not to use them in a pocket page, they are great to use on a layout!
These sweet little flower sequins in the Pinky Pie Sequin Mix were just perfect to layer on the flower sticker. They are subtle and add a pretty shine! You can see some of the stitching that I added across my page. Erica was very excited to #1 - have another layout of her own baby pics and #2 - help me with the stitching!

Hey there!! How is everyone today?! Hopefully great! I just finished crocheting this cute baby rattle for a friend who's having a baby and, of course, I had to add a little handmade gift tag! The Knit Happens stamp set from Pretty Cute Stamps was perfect!
After cutting out my tag using a Spellbinders die I sponged blue Distress Ink around the edges and then stamped on the sweet sentiment and hearts included in the stamp set.
I used the coordinating SVG files and my Cricut Explore to cut out the yarn and crochet hook diecuts and then stamped on them and coloured with coloured pencils.
I used some foam dots to pop up my little yarn cut and tied my tag onto the baby rattle with blue and white bakers twine. Now, this little baby rattle is all ready to give to my friend who's expecting a new baby boy anyday!

Happy Monday friends! I'm really excited about my new YouTube Channel, and I've created two baby cards today using Pretty Cute Stamps, along with a video to go along with them! I haven't had any baby cards to make for a long time, and I needed two recently. My hairdresser is having a baby boy, and my youngest sister is having a baby girl - yay!! Such exciting times, and I had some great ideas for combining digital and clear stamps to create these cute cards that I wanted to try out.
I first used the Special Delivery sentiment from the Pen Pals stamp set inside word bubbles from the Let's Talk stamp set and stamped on watercolour paper. I used my Tim Holtz Distress Crayons to watercolour my bubbles by scribbling on my craft sheet and then using a paintbrush to dab on the colour mixed with a bit of water. For the boy card I used blue and green, and then for the girl card I used a red and pink crayon.
I coloured the adorable gator from the Birthday Gator digital stamp set with Prismacolour and Hobby Colour markers, both alcohol based and layered him over some of the awesome papers from the Shimelle StarShine Collection.
I found this sweet little soother button in my stash and added it to my tag along with some shiny metallic thread. A bit of Distress Ink around the edges adds some colour.
I used a Spellbinders die to cut the star shaped diecut background and added some pretty sequins from SpiegelMom Scraps.
For my second baby card I used the super sweet elephant from the Birthday Elephant digital stamp set and coloured her pink and then used some white gel pen to add some pretty details.
I used some more of those cute buttons and layered them on some twisted metallic thread in blue and red to match my card. I love the colours in this StarShine collection!
More pretty sequins decorate my card - love this flower sequin!! There are so many cards I could use this elephant on - and she'd look good in any colour!
