Prima Paper Doll and Watercolour Background

I absolutely love the Paper Doll stamps by Julie Nutting, put out by Prima!  If you haven't seen her book, Collage Couture, it is a must-have for sure!

For week 2, Day 5 of Summer Card Camp 2 we were given 6 new colour combos to work with. I must say I like having 4-5 colours to work with! It is easy to coordinate the ink, paper, and markers, and the card comes together so easily. I used the second colour combo, omitting the blue.

I stamped on watercolour paper and used Tombow markers to colour in the doll stamp. For the background I used a technique Jennifer McGuire recently showed on You-Tube (see below) with Tombow markers and a baby wipe - so cool!  I heat embossed the butterfly stamp with white embossing powder and stamped the sentiment with black ink.

Hope everyone has a very happy, crafty weekend!

Not Christmas

Our challenge for Week 2, Day 4 with Summer Card Camp 2 was to use Christmas themed items to create a non-holiday card.  Great idea since we all have lots of holiday stamps and really use them for such a small part of the year.

I used a Christmas Sizzix embossing folder and some pool coloured cardstock.  After embossing I sponged on Distress Inks in this week's colours and then fussy cut around the image, cutting off the Christmas balls.  I then attached it to a piece of patterned paper and used a sentiment from a Christmas CTMH stamp set, embossed in white embossing powder.  I stamped a cute little owl, white embossed him, and coloured him in with SoufflĂ© pens.

Using Die Cuts and a Sketch

For this card I followed along with another guest artist, Julie Ebersole in the Summer Card Camp 2 online class, Week 2, Day 3. I used die cuts that I had cut from the Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge and used the coordinating CTMH stamps. I stamped with Distress Inks in this week's colour scheme and used some patterned paper from the 6x6 Echo Park Everyday Eclectic pad, following sketch #3. A few Stickles to top the card and voila!

Stamped Plaid

Week 2, Day 3 of Summer Card Camp 2 features a neat technique - creating plaid with a stamp by Pamela Ho. I used 3 colours of ink and a straight line stamp, which I stamped on an angle to create my bluish green plaid. I stamped 3 butterflies with Archival ink and coloured them in with Tombow markers and then cut around them, adding the plaid piece behind, with foam dots. I think this is one of my favorite cards so far!

Summer Card Camp 2 - day 2 & CS July Sketch

Hi all, hope you're having a great Monday!  Over the weekend I decided to use inspiration from Day 2 at Online Card Classes Summer Card Camp 2 to make a scrapbook page. I masked off a word stamp and used the colours of the week in Distress Inks to stamp a lovely fall stamp. I followed the sketch for July over at Canadian Scrapbook Magazine, which is always a lot of fun!  I used the Apple Cider Collection from Imaginisce from a couple years ago and some die cuts with a Spellbinders die and sponged some Distress Ink around the edges.

Summer Card Camp 2- week 1, day 2, card 1

I'm loving Summer Card Camp 2 at Online Classes! It is so hard to get out right now to do a class with two little ones at home, so this is perfect. I can work on the cards at my own pace and I have a limited number of supplies I've set up in the kitchen to use for the class, which is working well.

For day 2 I followed Shari Carroll's card. I love the watercolour look of this card!  I smooched Distress Inks onto my craft mat and spritzed with water and then used the back of a clear stamp (to get a solid image) to 'paint' my stripes of colour on the paper. After it dried I cut out a die cut in the middle and stamped the sentiment through the paper after adhering it to the card base. I used my CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge to cut out the cupcake and stars, which I stamped with the coordinating stamp and Distress Inks.  I added some Stickles and gems as well and it was done!

Summer Card Camp 2 - Week 1, Day 1, Card 4

Holy cow! 4 cards for just day 1! For the last card I made for day 1 in Summer Card Camp 2, I followed Kristina's 'Always Bee Yourself' card, sketch 2.

I used a CTMH bee stamp and stamped on a Spellbinders die cut.  I positioned the bee and sentiment a little different than the sketch due to a stamping mishap!

I really love how the embossed vellum turned out, and I will be sure to use this again.  I used a little Zig 2 Way glue on each corner to hold attach it to the card and it seemed to work well without showing through.  I added some white pen dash lines to the stripes in this week's colours, added some gel pen to the bee stamp and rounded the corners.
