CPS challenge blog has a great sketch this week and I love how they've shown all the variations of the sketch! Have a look to check out the beautiful cards. I decided to use their sketch and a variation of the techniques from the Scrapbooker's Paradise Toonie card (previous post) I made yesterday.
I stamped the image and then sponge daubed the color on with Distress Inks. I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder and then distressed the edges and sponged on some Vintage Photo Distress Ink. I stamped the background with an alphabet stamp and then placed my coordinating paper over it. I used 3 small paper coins and popped them up with foam dots and covered them with Crackle Glossy Accents, which I also used in a couple spots on my main stamped image.

Scrapbooker's Paradise Toonie Thursday
This week I was feeling a little cooped up, Amie's had a bad cold all week and we've been packing to move, so I really needed to get out and get a 'fix'. What better than a card at Scrapbooker's?!
This week Dianne showed us an amazing card stamped with a beautiful girl stamp image and colored in by sponging on Distress Ink. We distressed the edges and put it through a Cuttlebug embossing folder. Inside there is a neat pop-up where we attached a butterfly.

As always, a beautiful card!

Die Cuttin' Divas - Travel
Well, I wasn't sure what to do with the Die Cuttin' Divas challenge this week- to use travel cuts, until I remembered my Spellbinders Travel die! It was perfect :) I used Core-dinations paper to cut out the set, which includes a suitcase, tag, compass and passport, and then lightly sanded the embossing. I also used Everyday Paper Dolls Cricut cart for the mountains, since we live so close to the mountains our travel often involves a trip near them! I used some Liquid Applique for the snow and some Close to My Heart stamps.
Makes me want to pack my suitcase and head out!

Super Sundae for me!
I just realized I was featured on Birthday Sundaes for my entry in their Challenge # 6! I designed an invitation, a crown party favor, a place card, and a cupcake pic.

Gypsy has arrived!!
I'm so excited! I ordered a Gypsy for Mothers' Day and it arrived yesterday. I ordered it through http://www.cricut.com/ and am so pleased with their service! They had a great deal, Gypsy, starter pack with screen protector, stylus and sleeve, 3 pack stylus kit and car charger for $109 US (which is actually cheaper in Canada!!) They shipped it by Fed Ex and it arrived within 4 days and they sent out a confirmation email with the shipping info on it as soon as it was shipped by Cricut. (which is great for us type-A's :)
I've done the updating and now I'm playing around and figuring out all the fun things I can do. If anyone has any tips or websites they find helpful let me know!

Playing in Paradise Challenge 14 & Sweet Sunday Challenge 116
Over at the Scrapbooker's Paradise blog there is a fun color challenge this week. They are using the colors below in a project and have some amazing samples from the design team. I pulled out a package of paper that coordinated with this color challenge perfectly!
I used the Sweet Sunday sketch this week to pull it all together, and used a Close To My Heart stamp, Find Your Style as the focal point.
I stamped a flourish along the bottom of the card and used some glimmer sprays to brighten up the flowers. I used Distress Inks to stamp the image and then overstamped with Versamark and Perfect Pearls to add a shimmer to the shoe.

Die Cuttin' Divas - 1st May Challenge
There's a few changes over at Die Cuttin' Divas blog, but I'm sure it'll be as awesome as ever! Their challenge this week is a sketch challenge, which is always great. My friend just had a baby girl so out came the Heritage Cart and I decided to use the very cute carriage, the tag across the top of the card, and the word 'Baby'. I just love this cartridge! I turned the sketch around for my card and I placed 3 paper flowers with brads in the center on the right of the carriage. I sprayed each of them with a glimmer spray. The yellow and purple are Smooch sprays and the pink is Glimmer Mist.
I'm having a wonderful Mothers' Day so far! Flowers, breakfast, cards, I ordered myself a Gypsy!!, and I'm doing some cardmaking. My other baby will be coming over in a little while. I'm a very lucky mom.
Happy Mothers' Day to all you moms out there!

Scrapbook Retreat
Well, I'm finally getting to my Scrapbook Retreat post from last weekend! It's been a busy week... we're moving the end of the month, so my regular blog allotment of time has actually been spent packing.
I went to Canmore, Alberta (only about an hour away) with my sister last weekend to a beautiful retreat at Stoneridge Mountain Resort. It was the first time I'd left my little girl to stay overnight, and she was totally fine. She had a great Daddy-daughter weekend with her dad and they did all kinds of fun stuff.
I got lots of scrapbooking done and had such a wonderful time!

Sketchy Thursday - 4.28 Challenge
This past weekend my sister and I went to a fabulous retreat at the Stoneridge Mountain Resort in Canmore, AB. It was beautiful! This was the first time I'd stayed overnight at a scrapbook retreat and my 4 year old had a wonderful Daddy Daughter Weekend with her amazing dad. It was amazing how quick the time flew by! I completed 10 layouts over 2 days and had to do a Sketchy Thursdays challenge, of course!
I did two layouts for this sketch:
This one I turned upside down:
