CPS Sketch Challenge #222 - Father's Day

Can't believe it's almost Father's Day! Where has half the year gone already?! CPS Sketch Challenge Blog has a new sketch out and it worked perfectly for a Father's Day card for my hubby!

I used Close To My Heart stamps, which I stamped with Distress Inks and colored with colored pencils and K & Company patterned paper.

I placed two brads on either end of the 'happy' sign and popped it with foam dots.

Amie made her card as well and stamped, colored, sponged and added lots of brads and buttons.  She was very excited!

I think maybe Tim Holtz will be featuring her technique!

Happy Father's Day to the Best Dad!!!

IC card sketches #118

I found another great sketch challenge blog, Inspirational Card Sketches, and decided on a pink flower card as a birthday card.  As I recently moved and a lot of stuff is still packed, I just pulled out my 'crop' stuff and went from there.  I used Cosmo-Cricket patterned paper and chipboard flower, and stamped with the March stamp of the month, from Pink by Design, I won a while ago.

Happy Birthday Rayme!

My baby sister, Rayme is turning 24 on Friday!  I hadn't seen her in forever it seemed and was so happy to have a visit from her this past weekend.  I needed a quick card, and since I just moved 2 weeks ago, I had limited supplies!

The challenge at the Heart 2 Heart blog was a sketch challenge, and Drunken Stampers blog's challenge was to create a birthday card.

CTMH paper pack and Birthday stamp pack.  The bottom stamped image is a checklist of birthday things: -make a wish, - blow out candles, etc. Very cute! The paper is double sided, so I cut it in 4 pieces and reversed 2 to make the sketch (below)
Of course you always have to have some glitter!

Scrapbook Day!

Recently I spent part of a day at Scrapbooker's Paradise with a friend and my sister and got a whopping 2 pages done!  It was a fun day though, chatting and scrapbooking and having lunch with two great girls.  We all need a day like that once in a while!

 I used a K & Company paper pack
This little CC Designs stamp was so cute.  I watercolored it with Tombow Markers and placed her on the log stamp.
Close To My Heart alphabet stamps
 K & Company paper
I stamped a flower stamp on cardstock, then cut around the blossom and used foam tape to pop it up.

CPS Sketch Challenge #218

CPS challenge blog has a great sketch this week and I love how they've shown all the variations of the sketch!  Have a look to check out the beautiful cards.  I decided to use their sketch and a variation of the techniques from the Scrapbooker's Paradise Toonie card (previous post) I made yesterday.

I stamped the image and then sponge daubed the color on with Distress Inks.  I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder and then distressed the edges and sponged on some Vintage Photo Distress Ink.  I stamped the background with an alphabet stamp and then placed my coordinating paper over it.  I used 3 small paper coins and popped them up with foam dots and covered them with Crackle Glossy Accents, which I also used in a couple spots on my main stamped image.

Scrapbooker's Paradise Toonie Thursday

This week I was feeling a little cooped up, Amie's had a bad cold all week and we've been packing to move, so I really needed to get out and get a 'fix'.  What better than a card at Scrapbooker's?!

This week Dianne showed us an amazing card stamped with a beautiful girl stamp image and colored in by sponging on Distress Ink.  We distressed the edges and put it through a Cuttlebug embossing folder.  Inside there is a neat pop-up where we attached a butterfly.

As always, a beautiful card!

Die Cuttin' Divas - Travel

Well, I wasn't sure what to do with the Die Cuttin' Divas challenge this week- to use travel cuts, until I remembered my Spellbinders Travel die!  It was perfect :) I used Core-dinations paper to cut out the set, which includes a suitcase, tag, compass and passport, and then lightly sanded the embossing.  I also used Everyday Paper Dolls Cricut cart for the mountains, since we live so close to the mountains our travel often involves a trip near them! I used some Liquid Applique for the snow and some Close to My Heart stamps.

Makes me want to pack my suitcase and head out!
