Flower Technique Card

Hi everyone! Hope you all have had a wonderful week :) The weather here has been beeeautiful!! After last week's snow I have definitely been enjoying the warm sunshine.

I took a fun technique class last night at my friend, Dianne's place. She is soooo creative! Before I went I was inspired by the last technique class and made a card featuring some of the ideas.

I covered a Stampin' Up stamp with Distress Stain and stamped directly onto watercolour paper. I also stamped with Distress Inks as this was a layering stamp and I wanted to add additional depth. Then, I again stamped the larger stamps with Versamark and applied UTEE, giving a beautiful high gloss finish! I added stitching lines with a Vintage Photo Distress Marker.

Inside I stamped a sentiment from a set I picked up at a garage sale this summer.  I stamped on a piece of watercolour paper I cut from my main piece, and then I added some stitching lines.

I also put some of the Distress Stain on my splat mat, picked it up with a paintbrush after adding a little water and flicked paint droplets over my piece (before adhering to the card base). The base papers are from a  Jillibean Soup 6x6 pad.

These are the fun techniques we learned last night! I will be working on some over the next few weeks and I will feature them here with a short tutorial!

I hope you all enjoy your weekend!
