Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge!
Challenge #262-Autumn/Fall
Make a fall inspired project
To
qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your
project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used. If you use a Cricut Explore machine, at least one cut must be from the Cricut catalog of images. And, if you submit a project in our challenge that isn't a card, you will get two entries for a chance to win the prize instead of one!
Since our wonderful sponsor is Pretty Cute Stamps this week, and I'm also posting on their blog today, I decided to combine my posts! I wanted to work on some Fall scrapbook pages from a couple years ago. I can't believe how fast time flies!! Here in Alberta (Canada) you need to catch the Fall leaves when they're out. We've already lost a lot of the leaves on the trees because of a really strong wind over the weekend! Fall seems to only last a few weeks here between the time the leaves change and are gone!
I used feather diecuts from the Birds Of A Feather Cricut Cartridge, cut on watercolour paper. I first cut the tag (shown in my pocket page below) and then used the feathers on my scrapbook layout. My page is based on a Fall scrapbook layout in the latest Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine by Kelly Fieger. A few weeks ago the Crafty Maven Getaway Destination Group on Facebook had a challenge to 'Scraplift A Layout', and it inspired this page!
The cute scarecrows, leaves, hay and corn stalks are from the Harvest Happiness stamp set by Pretty Cute Stamps. I used Distress Markers to watercolor in my images after stamping on watercolour paper. The Happy Harvest sentiment stamped above is also from this adorable set! I used a journaling card from the Seasons Project Life kit I recently picked up, tucked behind some layers of this beautiful paper.
I coloured my feather diecuts by adding some Distress Inks to my craft sheet, spritzing with Perfect Pearls mist for shimmer, and laying my feathers and tag into the ink to create a glittery, marbleized colour.
The coordinating SVG cuts made it so super easy and fast to add these cute little leaves to my project!
Since I had more photos I wanted to use for this event I decided to use a pocket page. I love being able to decorate my journaling cards with stamped images!
I backed my feather tag with some coordinating paper and stapled on some ribbon before stamping with one of my favourite sentiments from this set!
I love this cute little girl scarecrow!! You can see another card I made using this sweet set here!
Here's a look at this cute set, which has coordinating SVG cuts-
