For her card she chose the week 1 colour scheme in Distress Inks and Sketch #1. She used some CTMH stamps and did an apple background by stamping three times to get varying effects of the pink ink colour she used - very clever! She used a Spellbinders banner die, which she sponged with Distress Ink and then stamped with oranges and a sentiment. She stamped her alligator and coloured it in.

Summer Card Camp 2 - Week 1, Day 1, Card 2
For my second card for Summer Card Camp 2, which is totally awesome!!, I followed Jennifer McGuire's card and Sketch #1.
The banner flap opens up to a sentiment underneath and the 'Thanks' is actually die cut 4 times with my Cricut (using my Gypsy) and layered on top of each other to make a chipboard-like sentiment. I will definitely use this technique again. I stamped the chevron pattern with a CTMH stamp, which Jennifer details how to do in her video.

Summer Card Camp 2 - Week 1, Day 1, Card 1
I am so enjoying the Summer Card Camp 2 at Online Card Classes! There are so many great ideas - now only if I had more time!
For week one we are focusing on a colour combo of white, red, teal blue, orange and yellow and 3 sketches were provided on day one along with some great inspiration.
For my first card I used sketch #3, which I turned around. I coloured in a C.C. Designs image with Tombow Markers on watercolour paper and used a spellbinders die for the tab and banner. I embossed my vellum with the Swiss Dots folder and stamped overtop with a CTMH stitch stamp. I stamped the butterflies on the vellum as well as cutting them out of paper and colouring with markers and then popping them up with foam dots. Of course I had to add some stickles!
Hope you're week is as great as mine :)

Summer Card Camp 2 - Pre-class Challenge #2!
The second pre-class challenge for the Summer Card Camp 2 about to begin at Online Card Classes next week is a sketch challenge.
For this challenge I decided on a grungy look, using Distress Inks and Dylusions Sprays (both favs of mine!) and a tag. I sponged my card base and then stamped on it. Then I sprayed my tag, over a stencil, with red and blue Dylusions Sprays and then sponged with Distress Inks and after drying misted again over a stencil with white spray. I added some vintage cut outs which I brushed some glossy medium on to make a bit shiny as well as some bakers twine, sprayed crinkle ribbon and added a paper flower. For the banner I attached a sentiment from the same cut out sheet and edged it with white paint after distressing.
Summer Card Class 2
I'm so excited for the Summer Card Class 2 to start next week at Online Card classes! There are so many talented papercrafters along with Jennifer McGuire and Kristina Werner.
I used Nichol Magouirk's recent card as inspiration. You can see her great video here. I love the vellum vase on this card! I used a CTMH stamp set for the flowers and leaves and used foam dots to pop up pieces of the flower petals before brushing them with Rock Candy Stickles. I used the Hot Off The Press "Well Preserved" stamp set for the mason jar and tied some black and white bakers twine around the mouth before gluing it on.
The first pre-class challenge is to use 4 of the 5 chosen colours.

The sentiment is from CTMH as well. I just hand cut a banner and sponged Evergreen Bough Distress Ink around the edges. I inked some white cardstock with the peachy coloured chalk ink (that I used for the flowers) and then stamped the butterflies, which I cut out and popped up on the card.
Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend and making time for some crafty fun!

Happy Canada Day!
I hope everyone here in Canada had a wonderful Canada Day today!! It was very hot here today - felt like 37 C, so we decided against taking the girls out to any festivities today and instead stayed home. Amie helped me make a Happy Canada Day banner, which I thought would work for a scrapbook page after displaying it today! I cut out the banner pieces and letters with the Cricut and put them on a piece of kraft cardstock and used some baker's twine and some flag and maple leaf stickers.
I am way behind in scrapping, but I do have all my pics organized, so I pulled out Canada Day pictures from 2011 and used the Scrapbooker's Paradise Sketch Challenge. I used a piece of kraft cardstock again for the background and some sparkly red cardstock to mat my pictures. I stamped a Tim Holtz blueprint leaf stamp onto Specialty Stamping paper with Archival Ink and sprayed with both red Dylusion sprays. After I cut out around the leaves I used brown and black Distress Inks to highlight the edges and then put them on the page, using foam tape to lift some up above the others. I cut the numbers out with the Cricut again and used some Peel Offs white scroll stickers around the page.
It was a fun way to spend Canada Day and it was nice to get a little scrapbooking done!

Inspiration!
Well, it's been feeling like summer these last couple days! We've even been out camping once already :) For some reason June seems busier than the rest of the year, maybe trying to fit in trips to the park while the weather is nice along with play dates, after school activities and end of the year school events. Anyway, I just wanted to share some sources of inspiration for me when I get too busy to actually sit down to play on a regular basis.
Two Peas In A Bucket has lots of amazing designers who put out weekly videos featuring different techniques for scrapbooking and cardmaking. The blog itself is a wealth of inspiration.

Simon Says Stamp blog has a group of talented designers, as well, who put out great videos and they have a fabulous blog full of ideas and a great challenge blog to get you started on a project.

Paperclipping Roundtable free podcast available through iTunes or the paperclipping.com website. This is a weekly podcast featuring Scrapbookers and papercrafters who work in the industry and speak on a different topic each week. Tim Holtz has been on as well as Ali Edwards, Shimelle Lane, and Julie Fei-Fan Balzer, to name a few. I love this podcast! I'm also loving the magazine Country Homes and Interiors. Great pictures and beautiful homes featured in a laid back country style.

Northridge Publishing puts out several terrific books each month on everything from scrapbooking, cards, sewing, Cricut projects and featured designer projects to name a few. If you sign up for an online subscription you can view every publication plus all back issues for $10/ month! These are beautifully designed with so many ideas!

Well, these are just a few of my fav's to give me motivation to start a project or just to give me a creative, happy boost when I don't have a lot of time!
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
