For my project this week I used Just Because Cards. I have had this cartridge for such a long time and really need to turn to it more often! There are so many great images and sentiments. This was a really quick card and I even added my own touches to it. I cut the card at 5.5" and added some coordinating washi tape to the right side. I used a ruler embossing folder to add details to the scalloped border and then highlighted with some Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

I thought this sentiment would be perfect for a little boy we know who's in the hospital right now.

I sanded the wooden slats on the Core'dinations cardstock and popped up the fenders. I added silver Wink Of Stella pen to the wheels and door handle - I am loving these Wink Of Stella pens!

Now, prepare to be spooked! For my project I created a mixed media wall canvas using the Mini Monster cartridge. I couldn't believe how many spookalicious diecuts were on this cartridge! I started by Mod Podging on background papers and then used Distress Inks and Paint to stencil randomly on the background. I also used some Dylusions stamps (stitching and leaves) to stamp on the background and then started layering all the horrifying goodness!

This little spider is simply too cute to spook! After I layered on the web, I covered it with Stickles to add some shimmer. I added a shadow around all my diecuts with a brown marker and then outlined them all with a black Distress Marker.

I just love this street sign! I used some Halloween sentiments from the Bewitched stamp set from Pretty Cute Stamps. The moon was actually cut from Create A Critter. I tried a new technique for those little stars... I used Ranger Texture Paste and embossed through a Heidi Swapp stencil and then added yellow glitter before it dried.

These little goblins just make you want to give out candy!! I love the look of the purple gooey guy after embossing him with the bubble embossing folder and sponging with Dusty Concord Distress Ink. The little witch's hat got a shot of purple Stickles to add some bling and some baker's twine tied through her button. I coloured in the leaves with Tombow markers.

Another stamp from the Bewitched set on the sign, and two goofy pumpkins. I embossed the leaves with a Christmas embossing folder, just using the leaf portion and then inked them with Distress Ink.

My kids were so excited to see our new piece of Halloween art hanging in out house - I guess it's time to get out the rest of the decorations - and I'm sure I'll get some more gruesome ideas from the rest of the bloggers!

Stamping, Stenciling and Snowflakes, Oh My!

Oh, I'm having so much for taking the Supplies On Hand class by May Flaum! She has such amazing ideas and a fantastic group of guest designers. I have sooo many ideas for using my stash!

I decided to focus today on the Stamping and Stenciling lesson, and I was inspired by a snowflake layout by May to make some Christmas gift tags. Of course, I absolutely love a mixed media look, so here we go...!

I still have my Dylusions Sprays out from the layout I created (you can check it out here) and since I wanted to go with a snowflake theme I thought they would make a perfect background.

I started by spraying two different blues and a black mist on manilla tags and then daubing them off with a paper towel.

Next I used Pumice Stone and Chipped Saphire Distress Inks to sponge through Heidi Swapp stencils, and then I laid a Simon Says Stamp snowflake stencil down and lightly misted with the White Linen Dylusions Spray.

I stamped a scalloped border along the bottom and a circle border along the sides, added highlights with Picket Fence Distress Marker and then white heat embossed some snowflakes and the swirl along the bottom.

I made the sentiment by stamping on a piece of white cardstock, sponging with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink, and stencilling with Peacock Feathers Distress Ink through a star stencil. Then, I covered the whole thing with Versamark and heated it with UTEE to create s glassy effect. I popped it up with foam dots to give some dimension.

I used some seam binding ribbon and sprayed it with 2 blues and a green Dylusions Spray. I let it dry, and it was pretty BUT then I sprayed with some water and oh my gosh! It blended so beautifully right before my eyes!

I'm not sure who will get one of these tags, but I sure had fun making them! Be sure to check back - I'll definitely be trying out more ideas from this awesome class!

Here is my project:

I was having a little trouble with my Gypsy this week :( - I am so reliant on it!! Anyway, I had precut some shapes from the Art Philosophy cartridge that coordinated with the CTMH stamp set, so it was the perfect time to pull them out! I used some Basic Grey paper as a background and layered my die cuts following the Deconstructed Jen Sketch #169.

I stamped with a waterproof ink on Specialty Stamping Paper and then coloured them in with Distress Markers. Of course, I had to add some Stickles for some bling!

And, just a tiny bit more birthday bling.... some pink rhinestones in the corner.

Santa Pic Layout

I am loving the Supplies On Hand Class by May Flaum! 4 days of amazing techniques and ideas for stash busting so far and more to come!! She has a stellar line up of guest design artists, and this will be a class I definitely go back to.

I have so many ideas running around in my head, but I thought I'd start with a Christmas layout. I was so inspired by May's layout using stamps and colouring them in with Dylusions Sprays that I got out my sprays immediately. I had these Christmas Dylusions stamps that I hadn't ever used (gasp!) so that's what I started with.

I loved the look of Ashli Oliver's journalling around the edge of her page. You must check out her blog at http://purplemailbox.blogspot.ca/?m=1 - she is so talented. The green papers were in a 12x12 sheet, which was divided into journalling cards, so I cut them to fit in the photo spots on the Stuck On You Sketches challenge. (See below for sketch)

Everything was already in my stash, and I'm happy to say I discovered new ways to use what I already owned. I flicked the Heidi Swapp silver Color Shine to create droplets and I love the way it looks! I don't know why, but I had never done this before.

I love the way these inks painted on! I just dipped the brush in the bottle and painted directly on the watercolour paper that I had stamped on. I used two green colours to create a bit of shading. I'm thinking it would definitely be a good investment to put these inks in waterbrushes!

I stamped the ornament border and cut each out individually. After threading them with some bakers twine I popped them up to look like they were hanging.

I had so much fun with this layout! I will definitely be using more ideas from this awesome class- so be sure to check back!

Happy Halloween Treat Bucket

Hi there! Just wanted to post a quick card I made today with the Mini Monster Cricut cartridge.

I cut the card shape and all the coordinating shapes to make the bucket at 5.5". Then I added in the cute layered candies. I added a bit of glitter on the candies with the clear Wink of Stella pen.

For the finishing touch I used a Happy Halloween stamp from the Bewitched stamp set from Pretty Cute Stamps. Since it's clear it easily curves onto the stamp block, and I heat embossed with white embossing powder.
