Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge!
Sketch Challenge
Create a project inspired by the sketch below:
To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used.
Inside I white heat embossed a sentiment and used the same colours to watercolour around the words. I used plain white cardstock here, so I tried not to get it too wet and just made sure to glue it down to the base well.
Erica shows off her watercoloured soda pop image too!

For my project I wanted to use a new Tim Holtz stamp set! This is such a neat, retro set, and I love this soda bottle. I've seen a lot of white embossing lately and wanted to combine it with watercolouring. I was inspired by a card Emily Leiphart created - she has a video showing her process on her blog.
I just love using a sketch, and I decided to turn this one on its end to create my card. I cut out the stars and scallopped edge diecut from the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge, and used white embossing powder for my stamped image. My background paper is from a 6x6 pad by Simple Stories - Good Day Sunshine - which is fast becoming my fav! I used a white gel pen around the edge of each star.
I wanted to go with bright, fun colours, and I chose 4 different Distress Inks, which I smooshed onto my craft sheet. I wet my watercolour paper with a paint brush and water and then applied blobs of colours, until I achieved the desired effect.
After my painting was complete, I picked up each colour and did a bit of splattering with my brush.

This is one of my favorite cards, and I definitely will be using this technique more! I love it when you find something that looks so great and is so easy to put together!
Be sure to head over to the FCCB blog to check out what the other Design Team members have put together -as well as check out our amazing sponsor Online Card Classes. I am a very big fan and recently took the Watercolor for Cardmakers class - it was awesome! They have a new class starting soon so be sure to check that out too!
Wishing you a wonderful, creative week :)
