Ah, first day of summer vacation! Everyone's still in their jammies, and I'm sitting in the sunshine with a coffee. Can't believe my little girl just finished grade 1, and my baby is 2 1/2 - Holy Cow! Where does the time go? I'm planning on enjoying every minute of this summer :)
I also had to share the lovely Shout-Out I received from All Things Beautiful! What a wonderful way to connect other bloggers and readers together! Thank you Amy!
Thursday is the Make 'n Take day with the Scrapendipity gang, and the lovely Holly never disappoints with a beautiful, inspiring card!
Yesterday we made this gorgeous card by clear embossing flowers stamped on a white cardstock background. The lovely background is then layered on yellow and blue cardstocks, on top of a white card base. On the top we layered a die cut white label, stamped with a sentiment and a ribbon.
We sponged on Distress Inks using orange for the centres, then yellow for the outside of the flowers and blue around the outside. Of course, Distress Inks blend beautifully and create new colours where the original colours mix. We spritzed some water over top to create some more blending and a watercolour look. I will never get tired of Distress Inks - especially using them to create watercolouring techniques!
I love how summery this card feels :) it makes me realize how I need to use these colours together more!!
I'll be back soon to show you my summer mantle (you can see the sneak peak above)!! I hope everyone is enjoying their Friday and looking forward to a lovely weekend!
