I hope you had a wonderful Christmas/Winter holiday! We had a really great two weeks, and I enjoyed all the down time I had with the girls. They head back to school tomorrow, and since we spent Sunday organizing our crafty area, I'm ready for a scrappy week ahead. For this challenge I'm choosing a couple 'new' crafty things to use on my project, which is a sweet and cozy winter card with a pretty snowflake border diecut using the Theresa Collins December 25th Cricut cartridge. I used the negative image of the snowflakes by 'attaching' the cut onto the card front - I just love the cozy blue sweater print on this Simple Stories Snow Fun paper! This allows the sparkly Soft Fallen Snow embossing powder from Emerald Creek to peek through the opening! Since I'd never used this pretty snowflake border cut before, this was my first NEW thing!
The next NEW thing I used was this adorable Lawn Fawn Llama stamp! I actually borrowed it from my darling 10 year old daughter. I go to a weekly card make 'n take at a LSS and over Christmas the girls were able to come with me. Amie convinced me I should definitely buy her this cute stamp, and since I planned on using it, and I love that she loves crafts, of course I did buy it for her 😉I used some watercolours and painted him up and then used a Spellbinders die to cut him out before adding some pretty embossed snowflakes from the stamp set. I love how the sentiment from this set looks so striking on the black cardstock border!
Inside, I used the actual snowflake cuts and then added my next NEW thing - these gorgeous new Teal Me Tomorrow sequin mix from the SpiegelMom Scraps Shop! You can see them on the front of the card as well below. I wasn't sure the exact occasion I'd be using this card for, so I left the inside blank until I'm ready to send it out.
The last NEW thing I used today was a Tim Holtz snowflake die set my friend, Laura, lent to me. I cut the snowflakes from a watercolour patterned paper and then covered it again with the Soft Fallen Snow powder. It is sparkly and puffs up a bit to create a really cool texture while letting the colour underneath show through - very neat!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Don't forget to use the code KARLA15 to save 15% off at the SpiegelMom Scraps shop, and be sure to head over to the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog to see what all the other Design Team members have come up with for this fun challenge! We can't wait to see what you create too, using at least one Cricut cut, for a chance to win a prize from our amazing sponsor D.L. Art! Wishing you a fantastic week ahead!
