Lovely Week End Day Farmer's Market Layouts!

Hello! I'm over on the Scrap Shotz Blog today sharing two beautiful layouts using the  new Scrap Shotz Kit Club Scrapbooking Kit. These photos are from a trip to the Cochrane Farmer's Market in Alberta, and it's so nice to scrap lovely warm sunny pictures. It actually snowed here in Calgary, Alberta last night, so I'm needing some lovely bright flowers and sunshine to lift my spirits. Even if it's paper and photos I'll take it! Here's a look at both of these layouts.

Be sure to head over to the Scrap Shotz Blog to find all the details, links and closeups. You can find the Free Cutfiles HERE, the Scrap Shotz Kit Club Scrapbooking Kit HERE and the Add-Ons HERE.

Free Hugs Repurposed Plant Pot and Video!

Hello! I'm back today to share a sweet little no fuss diecut cactus and DIY plant pot. I really do love having plants in my house, but... and not for lack of trying... they never survive 😢 It is really safer for all those sweet plants out there if I stick to the faux variety, lol. So, I decided to craft a cute cactus from a Cricut cut using my Cricut Explore. Of course, this little guy needed a lovely home, so I repurposed a clay pot I had laying around my house with the Tattered Angels Naturally Aged Paint System Bare Metal Weathered Bronze. This is a super cool set of 4 paints/mists that combine to create a bronzed metal look. When combined with the clay pot it looks so awesome!

I used the Cricut Cartridge Cactus Love to cut this sweet 3D plant. It is really easy to put together. I added a Prima Flower and a little cork butterfly with some gems and sequins from Buttons Galore. I happened to have a styrofoam cone in my stash and cut it down to fit inside the pot. Instead of leaving it white I added some Tattered Angels Kraft High Impact Paint and then covered it with Emerald Creek's Baked Texture Dirty Sand Embossing Powder by Seth Apter. I love when I can use a product for more than its intended purpose, and this Dirty Sand Powder looks amazingly like sand when it's dry! I just sprinkled it on and glued it down with some tacky glue before adding my cactus.

I've been experimenting with cutting vinyl with my Cricut more - I know, that's not anything new, but for some reason I thought it was harder than it was! I'm really loving it and thought this free hugs was super cute! It's from the Humming In My Garden cartridge.

You can see how everything came together in the full process video HERE or click below:

And the prize is-

$25 Virtual Wallet!!!!

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used. If you use a Cricut Explore machine, at least one cut must be from the Cricut catalog of images. If it isn't a card, you will get two entries into the drawing!

For this week's challenge I'm using some fun halloween files from the Printable Cuttable Creatables website - Halloween Witch CauldronMonster Mash & Tentacle Monster, along with the Mini Monster Cricut Cartridge to make a fun and not too spooky Halloween card!

I thought I'd make a little monster soup by tucking these cute monsters into the cauldron. They don't look too upset about it 😉

I couldn't resist adding googly eyes to this glitter covered spider! I layered the diecuts over a background of smooshed inks using Tattered Angels Lime Green and Iris Mists. Then, I added some pretty SpiegelMom Scraps Sequins (don't forget to use the code KARLA15 at the SMS shop for 15% off!)

Inside, I added a sentiment from the Mini Monsters cartridge and added a bit of silver Wink Of Stella to the edges of the gray letters. I love the way this cut layers the words!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Be sure to head over to the FCCB post to see what all the other designers have come up with for this spooky challenge, and have an awesome week friends!

FCCB #335 - Leaves!

Happy Monday and welcome to another FCCB Monday challenge!

Challenge #335-Leaves
Make any card, scrapbook layout, 3D sculpture, etc. about leaves!

Dreaming Tree SVG's

The winner will receive a $10 Gift Certificate!

For this challenge I’m sharing a cute owl card using a cool leaf diecut from Dreaming Tree using the FREE Autumn Leaf Napkin Ring SVG file. I positioned it in a rectangle cut from the Cricut Shapes and sliced it to create an opening in the background.

I used Tattered Angels Mists to create an inky background on a piece of Bristol Cardstock and then placed it behind the opening. Another leaf decorates the bottom left and I cut a sentiment from the Straight From The Nest Cricut cartridge.

I watercoloured some cute owls from the new Lawn Fawn So Owlsome stamp set and popped them up with foam dots to give them some dimension. I then added some SpiegelMom Scraps sequins (save 15% at the SMS shop with code KARLA15) to finish it off!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Be sure to check out what the other Designers have come up with for this challenge and enter your own at the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog, with at least one Cricut cut, for a chance to win!

FCCB #333 - Beach!

Happy Monday and welcome to another Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog Monday challenge!

Challenge #333-Beach
Make a project using anything Beach related. But there has to be a least one cut from the Cricut Library!

This Weeks Sponsor is-
https://www.printablecuttablecreatables.com/
And the prize is-

$25 Virtual Wallet!!!!

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used. If you use a Cricut Explore machine, at least one cut must be from the Cricut catalog of images. If it isn't a card, you will get two entries into the drawing!

For this challenge I created a double page scrapbook layout using lots of Cricut cuts as well as SVG files from our fabulous sponsor, Printable Cuttable Creatables (see below for a list of files and cartridges used).  I always like to check to see what's free each week in Cricut Design Space, and I really loved the Photo Play Paper Happy Glamper files, which were print and cut. I figured while I had my Explore hooked up to my printer I would flatten all the cuts I was using and print & cut them all at once. I love using diecut ephemera packs, so this was awesome - I could cut as many as I wanted and size them just so!

We take a yearly camping trip to a campground in Alberta with a bunch of other families, and it was so cool to look back on 2012 to see how little the girls were on this trip. I realized after I took photos that I forgot to add the date and some journaling, but I will go back and do that! I have these in an album with the rest of the trip that year, so there is already a lot of journaling, and well... it was a busy weekend so I decided not to retake photos!

The PCC Sandbucket file was coloured so nicely that it matched my colour scheme perfectly! I love the shadows that come with the cutfiles and make it look so nice if you decide to print & cut.

I pulled out an older My Mind's Eye collection, Jubilee, that I had in my stash and used the pretty papers together with some background papers from another stash. I used a bit of watercolour pencils to add colour to the black and white cardstock below. The printed sentiment banner was from the Cricut Photo Play cut and I added a cute pink flamingo from an Echo Park sticker pack.

I wanted to bring some of the same colours in the photo and papers to the top left corner so I used some Distress Oxides and Inks and a pretty Vicki Boutin butterfly stencil along with lovely matching SpiegelMom Scraps Sequins. (Be sure to use the code KARLA15 to save 15% off at the SMS Shop!)

I layered some of the diecuts and created a title, using some twine to add to the banner effect.

For the second layout I brought in some of the same papers and used the butterfly stencil again. I just love looking back and seeing how adorably cute Erica's little chubby legs were! And Amie is the same age in the photo as Erica is now! That's one of the most important reasons I love scrapbooking - remembering all those little things just makes me happy :)

The PCC castle turned out really neat, and I added some glittery gel pen to the window and flags. I love the Echo Park brad and the printed sentiment layered along with bottom of the page.

Another cute flamingo brings in some more pink colour to the layout, layered beside the PCC beach ball and wave.

I popped up the sunglasses with foam tape and added some Glossy Accents to the Sunny part of the diecut title. Adding the black gel pen around the edge of the title just helped it stand out on top of the yellow background.

Supplies Used:
Cricut: Photo Play Paper Happy Glamper, Paisley, Create a Critter
PCC files: Sand Bucket & ShovelSandcastleBeach Ball & Swirly Ocean Wave

FCCB #331 - Birthdays!

Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday Fantabulous Cricut challenge!

Challenge #331-Birthdays
Make a project about Birthdays. But there has to be a least one cut from the Cricut Library!

And the prize is-

A $10 coupon code for anything in the store!

For my project this week I'm using the super cute Paper Pups Cricut cartridge. I love checking out the weekly freebie cuts available in Design Space! It gives me an idea of whether I would use that cartridge or lets me just make a few free cuts that week.  I started off using a fireworks background from Echo Park and added some bright colours of Distress Oxide Ink that matched the paper I used for diecutting.

I coloured in the center of the cloud diecuts with a white Jane Davenport marker before layering them back inside the outlines. I love that the Happy Birthday cut had a border and I layered that on top of some washi tape on an angle.

I found some fun balloon and party sequins in my stash and used them along with some coordinating sequins from the SpiegelMom Scraps shop. A hand drawn string attached the balloons to this cute dog cut with some added sparkly pen details along with black border. I sized the party hat from the same cartridge to fit on his head. I think he looks ready to have fun!

Inside I added an sweet sentiment and paw print from the YNS Phoebe With Her Wagon stamp set and some shiny SpiegelMom Scraps sequins along with some diecut gift boxes. Don't forget to use the code KARLA15 to get 15% off your next purchase at the SMS shop!!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Be sure to head over to the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog to enter your own birthday project (including a Cricut cut) for a chance to win. We'd love to see what you come up with!

Now she'll have some handmade cards she can give out to her friends!
