Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps October Skrappy Challenge!

Good morning krafty friends! It's SEPTEMBER and that means it's time for a brand new SKRAPPY CHALLENGE with Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps! The theme of course is ANYTHING BUT A CARD! For this challenge you can make anything that strikes your fancy....except a card! So design a new scrapbook page, bookmark, tag, altered item, planner page, art journal, ATC cards...whatever you like! Just make sure to include some Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps products and make sure it's a new creation!  As soon as we have at least five people playing along, we'll be giving away a $10 gift voucher to the krafty shop as the monthly prize! For my project today I made a handmade Thankful journal with a 6x6 sheet of patterned paper from the September SCT Sampler Pack. I used the We R Memory Keepers Book Binding Tool and added in copy paper and started decorating! This cute belly band on the front of the book keeps the book closed when I'm not using it and I had so much fun decorating it!

The sweet stamp on the front of the belly band is from the Pumpkin Kisses Stamp Set, stamped in Fresh Fields Krafty Kolours Ink. I added in stencilling with the Pattern Parade Stencil and Tempting Tangerine Ink. I love looking through my stamps and finding images that go together! I used the Mini Monsters Stamp Set for the tiny pumpkins and the It's Turkey Day Set for the leaves and words stamped on the little tags. The Seashore Dots were the perfect colour to pop on! On the front of the journal itself I added in a little diecut circle stamped with the Happy Thoughts Stamp, and even fussy cut the arrow from the same set. The tiny pink and blue hearts on the cover and belly band are from the Mini Monsters Stamp Set!

I created a little pocket inside the front cover with some paper and washi tape, glued around the edges and bottom - perfect to tuck those sweet tags into! I love the x's on the Pattern Parade Stencil and added more leaves and another stamp from the uplifting Happy Thoughts Stamp.

I added washi and various diecuts from the SCT Sampler along with the fabulous You've Got This stamp from the Happy Thoughts Set again, and this time stencilling the little dots.

I love the Pumpkin Kisses Harvest Wishes sentiment from the Pumpkin Kisses Stamp Set and coloured in the pumpkins with coloured pencils from the Happy Fall Y'all Stamp Set. See how much fun this mixing and matching is?!! This time I stencilled on the dashed lines with Bubbly Blue Ink.

I cut a smaller piece of patterned paper to fit in my book before I stitched it to add another fun element. I used some more washi and ephemera and stamped this sweet paper airplane from the Happy Thoughts Set.

I decorated one more page today and added the Count Your Blessings sentiment from It's Turkey Day. I'm going to love filling in this journal, and I think even though life is hard, remembering all the things we are thankful for make a difference in how we see the world. 💗

I can't wait to see what you come up with for this challenge!! You have until Monday, November 2nd to enter and you can submit as many new creations as you like on the Kraftin' Kimmie Blog for more chances to WIN!  Also be sure to share your designs on the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps' Krafty Friends Facebook Group because we love to see your stuff!

Sydney's Superhero Frame!

Hi there!! I feel like last week just flew by, and I didn't get to share as many projects with you as I would have liked to... but I have been working on some fun new projects that I'll be sharing with you over the next couple weeks.

I can't wait to tell you about this frame that I made for my niece Sydney at Christmas! You may remember some great photos and layouts I shared from last spring when I threw a Superhero birthday for her. You can check out some pocket pages here as well as some pics from her party here. Well, since she loves Superheroes, I decided to give her a framed photo from that day - using this 'Super' cool scrapbook paper ;).

I started off painting a wooden frame from Michaels with red Dylusions paint on the back and around the front edges.

Then Erica helped me add Mod Podge to the front of the frame with a paintbrush. You can see we're watching crafty YouTube videos!

Then we added the scrapbook paper, cut to size, onto the wood frame. I had a left over diecut from her party in my stash and I fussy cut some of the paper and added it on top.

On the back, I covered the paper insert with part of the scrapbook paper and added a little note.

I just love how it turned out, and Sydney loved it too!

Some sequins from SpiegelMom Scraps added that last touch of bling.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope your week is shaping up to be fantastic. I'd love for you to check out my newest video using some fantastic Canvas Corp Brand products - a Street Art Valentine Process Video!!

Allison's Flip Book!

I have another flip book to share with you today! These are just so fun to make when you want to play with different supplies and techniques. This is a book I swapped with a sweet girl, Allison - you can find her IG here with links to her YouTube channel - and she sent me the cutest flip book too! I used Project Life cards as my base and attached them with washi tape. I embossed this awesome sentiment from the Pink and Main Believe Script stamp set with gold embossing powder, and used some pretty pink crinkly ribbon to tie the outside. I love adding my recipients name on the front to personalize it even more!

Here's a look at all the pages I included. I added stickers, paper ephemera, handmade tags, 3x4 journaling cards as smaller flaps, stamps, doilies and sequins, along with some goodies for Ally to use!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you found some inspiration to create something fun for yourself or a friend. Don't forget to check out my post from YESTERDAY where I show you a sneak peek of the Pretty Cute Stamps September New Release digital stamp sets and a FREEBIE digi stamp!! and be sure to check back TOMORROW for the New Release Blog Hop where you'll get to see my project and all the new releases available!!

PDE Friday Linky Party - Hand Stitched Felt Owl!

I'm sharing this adorable stitched felt owl over at the PDE Linky Party blog today, and I just had to share the details with you! I actually found a pattern I had printed out a very long time ago and decided to use it to make this cute owl for my sister at Christmas time. I totally think this sweetie could be used as a tag, decoration, or on a gift at any time of the year though! I was really excited to actually find the website where I downloaded the pattern from originally so that I could share it with you! You can find it here from the Juicy Bits 131: give a hoot blog post.

I cut the felt and then handstitched it together. Since it's so little it really goes together very quickly. There's something so relaxing and therapeutic about sitting down and handstitching! I actually used black brads for the tiny eyes.

Here you can see a pic my sister took of it on her tree, along with a gift tag my 4 year old wrote to her :)

Thanks so much for joining me! I hope you'll stop over at the PDE Linky Party blog to see what the other Design Team members have come up with this week, and since it is always Anything Goes, please share your crafty projects with us too!
