SpiegelMom Scraps - Stitched Laundry Birthday Card!

Hi there friends! I'm back today with a fun Happy Birthday laundry card! Now, I know what you're thinking... Fun and Laundry in the same sentence!! but when you're using the adorable Lawn Fawn Loads of Fun stamp set with some SpiegelMom Scraps sequins thrown in - it sure is fun!! Here's a look at the card I'm posting today on the SpiegelMom Scraps blog. Our theme this week is Stitching, so I wanted to add lots of stitchy details to my card! Kitty Bee Designs - Snow Bun!

Howdy crafty friends! I'm back today to share a cute little winter snow bunny card using the Snow Bun digital stamp from Kitty Bee Designs. We are set to get more snow this week, and I figured I might as well enjoy what's left of the season! I coloured this super sweet image in with Hobby Colour and Prismacolor Markers and added some white gel pen highlights and Stickles before cutting him out with a Spellbinders Nestabilities die and my Cuttlebug.

I am really loving purple lately, and I was excited to use this pretty paper from a Heartfelt Creations paper pad - Celebrate The Season. It has lots of gorgeous blues and purples, and even though there are wonderful Christmas images in it, there are also lots of snowy winter papers and images. I fussy cut out the mittens and skates and used the papers from the pad. I sponged Distress Inks around the edges and used my sewing machine to stitch around my layered papers. A few pretty sequins from the SpiegelMom Scraps Plum Dreamsicle sequin collection, a bit more Stickles and a couple drops of some Silver Nuvo Drops add some bling!

Inside, I used a stamp from my stash and another strip of that beautiful paper!

Pretty Cute Stamps September New Release Blog Hop!

Thanks so much for joining us for the September 2016 Digital Stamp Release Blog Hop, where we are all sharing projects featuring the new digital stamps this month that are now available in the Pretty Cute Stamps Store.

For my project for the hop, I've used the Book Nerd digital stamp set to create this layout about how much my daughter loves reading. She can get lost in a book so quickly, and it makes me remember how much I loved reading as a kid - and still do!  I had so much fun using the image and sentiments included in this set on my page, and I love how the papers from the Fancy Free collection just seemed to match the photos and image I had already coloured! Talk about meant to be ;)

I printed this sentiment from the Book Nerd digital stamp set directly onto my piece of pink patterned paper before layering on the digital book image, which I printed on white cardstock and coloured with Prismacolor Markers. I love being able to size the digi stamps however I want to fit the project I'm working on!

Another awesome thing about these digital sets is that they come with the PNG files as well as JPEG files! This means I was easily able to upload the PNG version of the Book Nerd sentiment into Cricut Design Space and use it as a cut file with my Cricut Explore. I added MY using some Pink Paislee Thickers, and printed my journaling onto copy paper before cutting it and gluing it onto my page. I usually just handwrite my journaling, but I was quite happy with how this turned out!

I printed some of the other awesome sentiments included in the Book Nerd set on white cardstock and then used Distress Ink to add a coordinating colour to match my page. I used the 123 WR Memory Keepers punch board to punch the edges to resemble a tab and then layered them on another piece of patterned paper. The sequins from Spiegelmom Scraps were perfect to add as embellishments to my page!

I've really been loving using my sewing machine on layouts, and after I put down the pretty papers on the left I stitched around them. I cut this scripty sentiment into a banner and layered it over my photo - so perfect!

PDE Friday Linky Party - Hand Stitched Felt Owl!

I'm sharing this adorable stitched felt owl over at the PDE Linky Party blog today, and I just had to share the details with you! I actually found a pattern I had printed out a very long time ago and decided to use it to make this cute owl for my sister at Christmas time. I totally think this sweetie could be used as a tag, decoration, or on a gift at any time of the year though! I was really excited to actually find the website where I downloaded the pattern from originally so that I could share it with you! You can find it here from the Juicy Bits 131: give a hoot blog post.

I cut the felt and then handstitched it together. Since it's so little it really goes together very quickly. There's something so relaxing and therapeutic about sitting down and handstitching! I actually used black brads for the tiny eyes.

Here you can see a pic my sister took of it on her tree, along with a gift tag my 4 year old wrote to her :)
