PDE Friday Linky Party - With Sympathy Card!

Today I'm posting for the PDE Linky Party Blog where it's always Anything Goes!

For my project this week I created a Sympathy card using Cricut diecuts and my Cricut Explore. I love using patterned paper on diecuts - even papers that I normally wouldn't use as a background seem to make my diecuts pop! A good way to use your stash :)

This feather diecut came from the Cricut Bits and Pieces cartridge - there are so many awesome cuts on this one! I used one of the fonts in Design Space for my sentiment and welded the letters together before cutting them out. If I can't find a sentiment within the available images that I'm looking for I will usually do this so I don't have to place each letter on individually. By cutting it out of a paper with a script in the background it gives it some interest without being hard to read.

Thanks so much for joining me today! I hope you have a lovely weekend and join us over at the PDE Linky Party blog for more inspiration!

PDE Friday Linky Party - Homemade Granola and Crocheted Owl Basket!

Happy Friday friends! I'm sharing this recipe for Homemade Granola over at the PDE Linky Party blog today.  This is something that I made as a gift for my sister, including it in a handmade crocheted owl basket with a few other yummy goodies. You can find the recipe online here!

I recycled a jar that I cleaned well and added a pretty hand dyed ribbon along with a label sticker and a circle of patterned paper to cover the top of the jar. I really believe presentation is everything, and even a small gift can be very special with a little effort!

I added the jar of granola to this cute owl basket along with some chocolate covered popcorn and some Banana Bread Tea from David's Tea - one of my fav tea places!

I followed a pattern that was in a magazine, but I did find a free online pattern that looks very similar here

After my sister took her goodies out of the basket she filled it with some pretty red ornaments.

Thanks so much for joining me today! Be sure to stop over to the PDE blog to see all the fun things the other designers have come up with and enter your own creative project in our Anything Goes Linky Party!

PDE Friday Linky Party - Hand Stitched Felt Owl!

I'm sharing this adorable stitched felt owl over at the PDE Linky Party blog today, and I just had to share the details with you! I actually found a pattern I had printed out a very long time ago and decided to use it to make this cute owl for my sister at Christmas time. I totally think this sweetie could be used as a tag, decoration, or on a gift at any time of the year though! I was really excited to actually find the website where I downloaded the pattern from originally so that I could share it with you! You can find it here from the Juicy Bits 131: give a hoot blog post.

I cut the felt and then handstitched it together. Since it's so little it really goes together very quickly. There's something so relaxing and therapeutic about sitting down and handstitching! I actually used black brads for the tiny eyes.

Here you can see a pic my sister took of it on her tree, along with a gift tag my 4 year old wrote to her :)

Thanks so much for joining me! I hope you'll stop over at the PDE Linky Party blog to see what the other Design Team members have come up with this week, and since it is always Anything Goes, please share your crafty projects with us too!

PDE Friday Linky Party - Vegan Banana Bread!

Hi there! It's almost the end of the week.... Hope you had a lovely one! I'm sharing a project for this week's PDE Linky Party - the theme, as always, is Anything Goes, and we'd love to see what you've been working on!

I wanted to share this Vegan Banana Bread I recently made for my oldest daughter who is vegan. I have had good and not so good experiences with different vegan recipes. When you bake without eggs it changes your end result somewhat, but I seriously could not tell the difference when I ate some of this bread. And, my daughter loved it!

I used some scrapbook paper to package it up over the plastic wrap to keep it fresh. Then, I added a doily and a couple circle diecuts, and I stamped a couple of hearts around my hand written tag. I'm a firm believer that adding a few extra touches to the packaging adds so much to the gift!

Thanks so much for joining me today! I hope you have a wonderful weekend, and if you love baking you can give this Vegan Banana Bread a try a let me know what you think!  Don't forget to check out the fun projects the other PDE Linky Party Design Team members have come up with for you this week, and enter your own so we can see what you've been working on!

PDE Friday Linky Party - Vinyl Monogrammed Mug!

It's time for another Linky Party at the PDE blog!! And Anything Goes, as long as it's creative or crafty!

I'm showing off my very first ever attempt at cutting vinyl with my Cricut!! I designed this mug for my daughter, Stephanie, and it was so super quick and easy it's almost embarrassing, lol! I chose the font 'Everyday Fonts - Something To Shout About' from Cricut Design Space and used some American Crafts black vinyl to diecut my monogram S. Using the clear transfer tape I easily applied the cut to the mug. She's a lefty, so I thought it would be nice for her to have a mug she could actually see the design while she was drinking her tea.

It was so easy I decided to add another cut to the other side. This heart cut is from the Stamping Cricut cartridge.

Of course I had to add in a package of loose tea from my favorite tea shop- David's Tea!

Thanks so much for joining me today! Please check out the amazing Design Team inspiration on the PDE Linky Party blog, where you can enter your own Anything Goes project! We'd love to see what you're up to!

PDE Friday Linky Party - Snow Globe Card Set!

Happy Friday! I've got a project featured over at the PDE Linky Party blog today with a set of cute snow globe Christmas cards using the awesome Snow Globe stamp set by Pink and Main stamps!

I started by embossing some white cardstock and layering it on dark blue cardstock folded into a 4.25 x 5.5" card base. I couldn't decide on just one folder, so I tried several and I was really happy with the results I got with all of them!

I love this set! I stamped several of each cute image to put into my globe and coloured them with Prismacolor Markers. I stamped the snowglobes on BoBunny patterned paper and added some snowflakes on top before attaching my snow hill and coloured image. I added some white gel pen to give a bit of snowy detail.
For some of the bases I stamped on white cardstock with coloured ink and for others I stamped on patterned paper with Versamark and then embossed with clear embossing powder. I love them both ways! I didn't want to have my snowglobes floating on the card, so I used a red piece of cardstock, punched with a scalloped edge punch across the lower part of my card. A bit of that blue cardstock with some gel pen stitching a few punched snowflakes finished my cards off!

Inside - I used a holiday sentiment I had in my stash.

Here's a close up of this cute set:

PDE Friday Linky Party - Coffee Tag!

If you haven't heard the news, I'm on the PDE Linky Party Design Team! Woo Hoo! It's a fun place you can link up your Anything Goes projects every week!! This is my first official post for them and I'd love it for you to check out the blog and their fun Facebook page!

This week on the PDE blog I'm featuring this fun vintage coffee tag using Shimelle's True Stories paper collection!

First I layered the grey coffee background paper over a Ranger manila tag and inked the edges with, of course, Ground Espresso Distress Ink. I added a CTMH coffee stain stamp, some mist splatters and rub on sequins to my background before I layered on an #ineedcoffee diecut by Wilna Furstenberg, which I watercoloured with Dylusions Spray Mists and Perfect Pearls. For my ribbon I used a couple different colours of Distress Stains on some seam binding ribbon. I love the way it blends together after a quick spritz with water!

The fun Polaroids were cut from the True Stories paper pack as well. I inked around the edges and stamped a Lawn Fawn sentiment on one, embossing with some clear shimmery embossing powder, and on the other I used Glossy Accents to add detail to the sweet little cup.

The coffee cup was cut from a 12x12 sheet of patterned paper in this collection - I love these colours!! I cut another layer of the coffee sleeve and lid and popped them up with foam dots to give dimension. Now I'm totally craving another cup of coffee!

Thanks so much for joining me today! I hope your weekend is going to be full of crafting and things that make you happy :) Please stop over to the PDE Blog and check out what the other Designers are sharing, as well as adding your own Anything Goes project!

Fall Step Cards!

I'm sharing these fun step cards over at the Pretty Cute Stamps blog today featuring the Harvest Happiness and Bushels Of Fun stamp sets!

I used my Cricut Explore to cut the Center Panel Step Card cutting file from the Pretty Paper Pretty Ribbons store for my first card. After I cut the coordinating SVG files, available at the Pretty Cute Stamps store, I stamped the yummy apple pie images from the Bushels Of Fun set and coloured them with Prismacolor Markers. I love all the sweet sentiments included with these images! The fall leaves are from the Harvest Happiness set and went along with my fall theme!

Here are a couple close ups and the inside where I added a couple more stamped images and another sentiment.

 Bushels Of Fun

For my second card I used the Side Step Card cutting file, from PPPR as well, along with the Harvest Happiness stamp set. I love the way you can layer this set to create a scene! I heat embossed the greeting on the bottom layer of my step in white and added all my stamps, popping up the hay in front of the cute scarecrow.

Here are some close ups of this card:

Lawn Fawn Coffee Thanks!

Well, I just had to combine my Lawn Fawn Love You A Latte stamps with the Basic Grey Highline paper I picked up recently to create a quick Thank You card!

I used one of the 3x4 journaling cards and the FRESH diecut that came with the Basic Grey ephemera pack. I stamped my Lawn Fawn stamps directly onto the card and coloured them with coloured pencils. I love all the different sentiments in this set!

To add some glossy shine I used my Sakura Gelly Roll Glaze pens on the stamped heart on the Fresh diecut as well as the coffee cup and beans. I like the clear Glaze pen to add some gloss when you don't want to wait for Glossy Accents to dry. The clear glitter pen added some shimmer to my sentiment.
On Saturday morning my wonderful hubby makes AeroPress coffee - it's simply amazing! I got to relax and read a Christmas magazine this morning while drinking my latte sprinkled with cinnamon :) Awesome!

Thanks so much for joining me today! Hope you're enjoying your weekend and a tea or coffee to relax with Sunday morning!

Christmas Cards with Heidi Swapp Journaling Cards!

Hi there! I hope you've all been having a lovely and a bit crafty week! I had a Christmas card swap recently that I needed to mail a set of 6 cards for and I wanted to create some cards that weren't too thick, so I decided to use a Heidi Swapp Believe paper pack that I've had for a little while. I just love this paper! I originally bought it to complete a mini album, but my poor little album is sitting in a drawer. For a while (a long time ;) I waited, thinking I'd come back to it, but then I decided this paper is just too pretty not to use!

I wanted to use the sketch over at Sweet Sunday Sketches so I used the cut apart sheet of 3x4 chalkboard-look journaling cards in the paper pack as the main element on my card. From there I cut a banner from the paper, which has glittery strips! and then cut a wreath and bow with my Cricut Explore.

Here's the inside - I love a top folding card!

Here's a look at all 6 of the cards!

Of course, between Joy To The World and Santa Baby Hurry Down the Chimney, I was definitely humming Christmas Tunes!

Thanks for joining me today! Are you getting some Christmas cards done up yet? I hope you're having fun, no matter what you're doing!
