Warm Wishes Snowman Card!

Hello! I am over on the Gerda Steiner Designs Blog today sharing this cute winter card using the Snowman and Birds Digital Stamp from the Gerda Steiner Designs Shop. I love using snowmen on holiday cards, but this guy would work perfectly all winter long! I printed him out along with a hand-typed sentiment using the Miss Sasha font from Miss Kate Cuttables. There are so many awesome fonts available on your computer or online that you'll never run out of options for sentiments. I coloured the image in with Copics and layered all the pieces on some BoBunny paper from my stash, creating a lovely, wintry card!

Home For The Holidays Hop & Giveaway!

Hello! It's almost Christmas, and what could be better than a fun Holiday Hop with crafty, festive inspiration?!! Today, I'm participating in the Home For The Holidays Christmas Hop with a few crafty friends of mine. I can't wait to show you what I'm sharing - and be sure to scroll down because I've got a sweet GIVEAWAY!!

My girls and I have been doing lots of Christmas crafting lately, and these wood slice ornaments were something I've wanted to try! I started off by stamping adorable Kraftin Kimmie stamps from the Shake It Up and coordinating Shake It Up Polar Bears stamp sets on wood slices from Amazon.

The Krafty Kolours Inks available from Kraftin' Kimmie are lovely hybrid inks that stamp beautifully! After stamping I used coloured pencils to colour in the images - nothing fancy - even your kiddos can have fun doing this! I added some Liquid Pearls to the little pile of snowballs for added dimension here.

I added a bit of white gel pen to the little deer scarf (how cute is he?!!) and drew in some snowy hills with a black fine tipped pen.

I love all the cute images included in these sets - perfect to embellish the sweet animals!

A bit of Stickles glitter glue adds just the right amount of glittery goodness to these ornaments.

On the back I stamped a cute sentiment and a few more snowflakes, again with the Krafty Kolours Inks. I used some bakers twine from my stash to tie through the hole and these ornaments are ready to gift or hang on our tree if I can't give them away 😉

Now, let's get to some BLOG CANDY!!

Let me tell you how awesome Kimmie is... I said I was offering an $10 gift certificate and she offered to bump it to $20!! So you have a chance to win a $20 gift certificate to the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps shop 💙💰 where you can find super cute stamps, awesome inks, very cool stencils and more! Challenge #134
Winter Blues
(anything Winter/Snow related)

Super big thanks to our sponsor for this challenge
Star Stampz

and

For this challenge I'm using an adorable image from Star Stampz - the Cup Of Cocoa digi stamp. She's so cute bundled up in her sweet little jacket and looks so cozy drinking her yummy cup of steaming cocoa! I coloured her up with a combination of Copics and Prismacolor Markers and layered the image on oval stitched diecuts.

An older Simple Stories collection, Snow Fun, was just perfect to for a wintery feel for this card! I added a couple Studio Katia snowflake sequins and some pretty SpiegelMom Scraps sequins and stamped a little red heart, adding Glossy Accents for a pop of red.

Inside, I stamped a sentiment with a Concord & 9th stamp set and added a few more SpiegelMom Scraps sequins (don't forget to use the code KARLA15 to save 15% in the SMS Shop!)

Southern Ridge Trading Company - A Frosty & Fun Layout!

Hello! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! We got our tree decorated and put up lots of fun Christmasy decor in the house and spent Sunday making Christmas Cards with some friends - so we are definitely in the spirit! Today, I'm over on the Southern Ridge Trading Company blog with a lovely winter layout using a photo of the girls and their sleds on one of our first snow days in Alberta, which was quite early - in October. While the adults were all grumbling a bit, the kids thought it was fantastic and spent their time after school sledding down the nearby hills! I used some beautiful chipboard and wood veneer embellishments from the SRTC Shop to add to the snowy, sledding theme and had so much fun creating!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Be sure to head over to the Southern Ridge Trading Company blog to get all the details and a supply list. I hope you have a wonderful week ahead!

Kitty Bee Designs #132 - All Wrapped Up!

Hi Friends! I hope you've been having a lovely week so far! I've had lots of fun creating projects lately and here's one more for you!  It's time for the midweek inspiration for Challenge #132 over at the Kitty Bee Designs Challenge Blog - Aloha Friday!

Challenge #132
All Wrapped Up

Super big thanks to our sponsor for this challenge:

Kinda Cute by Patricia - http://kindacutebypatricia.com/

and

Di's Digi Stamps - https://www.disdigistamps.com/

For this challenge I decided to create a cute Christmas card using the adorable Snowman and Friends Digital Stamp from Kinda Cute by Patricia.  He looks so happy surrounded by his little animal friends! I coloured the image with an assortment of Copics, Prismacolor and Hobby Colour Markers to match the Heartfelt Creations Paper Pad I've been using lately! I just love the pinks and teals for a little change up to the regular holiday colour scheme.

I used a stitched square die to cut out the image and then layered it on top of the papers, ribbon, and an embossed piece of matching teal cardstock. Some Stickles and SpiegelMom Scraps sequins  add just a little extra bling for Christmas Cheer! (PS be sure to use the code KARLA15 to save 15% at the SMS Shop!)

Weekend Update, SMS Layout & Junk Journal Giveaway!!

Hello! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! The time flies so quickly... We did a bit of sledding with the girls on the Saturday since it was finally warm enough to venture outside as long as we were bundled up! My husband celebrated his birthday and I tried out a Duncan Hines Carrot Cake, which was surprisingly awesome! Sometimes I'm just too tired to bake a cake, so I opted to go the cake mix route, and we all loved it. We ventured across town to the Farmers Market on Sunday where I had my favourite Chicken Tortilla Soup and we did a little shopping and picked up some mini Simon Says Pies to take home. The dessert pies are about a 4" pie shell filled with many different types of yummy fillings!!

The girls tried out a couple new sleds we recently picked up!

And here's the layout I shared over on the SpiegelMom Scraps Instagram Feed last week. In September we got our family photos taken and they are beautiful with the pretty Fall colours in the background. I'm planning a few different layouts to go with the Fall theme, but for this page I really wanted to use the photo with these lovely Paige Evans collections so I changed it to black & white. I really love the look of it, and I think I need to scrap some more B&W photos! Be sure to check out the IG post HERE to see closeups, details, and see the layout by Brianna Lepper that I scraplifted to create this page!

Don't forget to use the code KARLA15 to save 15% off all your purchases at the SMS shop!

Lastly, today I want to share a fantastic giveaway over on the Canvas Corp Brand Creative Studio Blog - a Handmade 7gypsies Junk Journal and Creativation 2018 Swag. There are just a couple more days to leave a comment on the blog post to be entered to win - the draw is March 1st. If you haven't checked out the Creative Studio Blog, there is so much inspiration on it, it's well worth a look!

I hope you have a fantastic week ahead! Stay warm friends 😉

FCCB #318 - Snow!

Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge!

Challenge #318-Snow
Make a project using anything snow related. But there has to be a least one cut from the Cricut Library!

This Weeks Sponsor is-

Lawn Fawn

And the prize is-

A $25 online gift code!

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used. If you use a Cricut Explore machine, at least one cut must be from the Cricut catalog of images. If it isn't a card, you will get two entries into the drawing!

This week I'm using the Speaking Of Winter Cricut cartridge, along with the Winter Village and Winter Fox Lawn Fawn stamp sets, to create two mini winter cards. When I think of winter colours I think blues and purples, so I grabbed some of those colours of cardstock and after cutting with my Cricut Explore I grabbed some Distress Oxide Inks to add just a little more colour. I stamped the cute Lawn Fawn houses on white cardstock and coloured them in with Prismacolor and Hobby Colour markers, which are alcohol based. A little bit of white gel pen adds some snowy highlights to the tiny trees, and some SpiegelMom Scraps sequins add a bit more shine!

I used a Kaisercraft square stitched die to cut out the snowflake panel so I could pop it up over the blue inside background. Before gluing the two layers together I added blue and purple Distress Oxide Inks and flicked some Tattered Angels Chalk Chalkboard Mist on top to create a sparkly water droplet effect.

The next card has a fun fold and the snowflake tucks into a little cut on the right side to close it. I popped up the middle snowflake layer after adding extra Distress Oxide Inks and splattering again with the Chalk Mist.

Here's a look at the stamp sets I used on the inside, which I stamped with the sentiment from the Winter Fox set using Distress Oxide Ink. I love using this ink for stamping! You can find a large assortment of sequins and crafty goodies (such as the stitched square dies above) at the SpiegelMom Scraps shop, and if you use the code KARLA15 you can save 15% off your purchase there!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Be sure to head over to the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog to see what all the other Design Team members have come up with for this challenge - and enter your own for a chance to win a prize from our fantastic sponsor Lawn Fawn!
