Hello friends! I hope you had a great weekend! I'm back today with a fun project you just might want to try, and a fun GIVEAWAY below!! I made this as a gift for my niece and actually used this Canvas Tote as the gift bag to give her birthday gifts in! If you haven't heard of Sew Sweet Pea, you'll definitely want to check them out! They are a family run business with beautiful sewing patterns that can be cut with your electronic cutters using the SVG pattern file! Now, if you don't have an electronic machine you can still cut out their beautiful patterns by hand using the downloadable PDF. They also include lots of information on how it goes together and even give you instructions on how to applique and what kind of stitches you can use! I decided to cut the Love Cushion Applique Sewing Pattern pieces out of Natalie Malan Patterned Iron-On Vinyl using my Cricut Maker, but you can just as easily cut them from fabric.
I love that the Love word and hearts actually form a heart! I thought these pretty Patterned Iron-On colours actually looked like fabric! Don't forget to mirror your cuts when you're using Iron-On! One of the files that comes in the download is actually mirrored so you won't forget - and yeah I'm saying that because you know I forgot, lol! I left my hearts 'backwards' but I had to recut the Love... Oh well!
Here's a quick video where you can see how easy it is to upload this pattern into Cricut Design Space! Don't forget after you have it you can use it to cut fabric, vinyl, iron-on, paper and more!!
I trimmed close to the backing material so I could layer each heart and letter on and iron them on at one time with my Cricut EasyPress 2 and the EasyPress Mat. I'm telling you the EasyPress 2 and Mat is a game changer! I pressed for the recommended time and then removed the liner pieces and I love how it turned out!!
Now for the Giveaway!! I have 3 vouchers sponsored by Sew Sweet Pea!
Leave a comment telling me if you like to use fabric or iron-on vinyl (or something else!) to make a special gift for yourself or someone else.... Extra entry if you tell me what your favouriteSew Sweet PeaPattern is!!

Hello! It's almost Christmas, and what could be better than a fun Holiday Hop with crafty, festive inspiration?!! Today, I'm participating in the Home For The Holidays Christmas Hop with a few crafty friends of mine. I can't wait to show you what I'm sharing - and be sure to scroll down because I've got a sweet GIVEAWAY!!
My girls and I have been doing lots of Christmas crafting lately, and these wood slice ornaments were something I've wanted to try! I started off by stamping adorable Kraftin Kimmie stamps from the Shake It Up and coordinating Shake It Up Polar Bears stamp sets on wood slices from Amazon.
The Krafty Kolours Inks available from Kraftin' Kimmie are lovely hybrid inks that stamp beautifully! After stamping I used coloured pencils to colour in the images - nothing fancy - even your kiddos can have fun doing this! I added some Liquid Pearls to the little pile of snowballs for added dimension here.
I added a bit of white gel pen to the little deer scarf (how cute is he?!!) and drew in some snowy hills with a black fine tipped pen.
I love all the cute images included in these sets - perfect to embellish the sweet animals!
A bit of Stickles glitter glue adds just the right amount of glittery goodness to these ornaments.
On the back I stamped a cute sentiment and a few more snowflakes, again with the Krafty Kolours Inks. I used some bakers twine from my stash to tie through the hole and these ornaments are ready to gift or hang on our tree if I can't give them away 😉
Now, let's get to some BLOG CANDY!!
Let me tell you how awesome Kimmie is... I said I was offering an $10 gift certificate and she offered to bump it to $20!! So you have a chance to win a $20 gift certificate to the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps shop 💙💰 where you can find super cute stamps, awesome inks, very cool stencils and more! She also has a Krafty Friends Facebook Group where you can find the nicest crafty peeps ever and tons of inspiration. To win, simply leave a comment here, and get extra entries for leaving a comment on the hop post on Instagram and/or Facebook!
Hello! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! The time flies so quickly... We did a bit of sledding with the girls on the Saturday since it was finally warm enough to venture outside as long as we were bundled up! My husband celebrated his birthday and I tried out a Duncan Hines Carrot Cake, which was surprisingly awesome! Sometimes I'm just too tired to bake a cake, so I opted to go the cake mix route, and we all loved it. We ventured across town to the Farmers Market on Sunday where I had my favourite Chicken Tortilla Soup and we did a little shopping and picked up some mini Simon Says Pies to take home. The dessert pies are about a 4" pie shell filled with many different types of yummy fillings!!
The girls tried out a couple new sleds we recently picked up!
And here's the layout I shared over on the SpiegelMom Scraps Instagram Feed last week. In September we got our family photos taken and they are beautiful with the pretty Fall colours in the background. I'm planning a few different layouts to go with the Fall theme, but for this page I really wanted to use the photo with these lovely Paige Evans collections so I changed it to black & white. I really love the look of it, and I think I need to scrap some more B&W photos! Be sure to check out the IG post HERE to see closeups, details, and see the layout by Brianna Lepper that I scraplifted to create this page!
Don't forget to use the code KARLA15 to save 15% off all your purchases at the SMS shop!
Lastly, today I want to share a fantastic giveaway over on the Canvas Corp Brand Creative Studio Blog - a Handmade 7gypsies Junk Journal and Creativation 2018 Swag. There are just a couple more days to leave a comment on the blog post to be entered to win - the draw is March 1st. If you haven't checked out the Creative Studio Blog, there is so much inspiration on it, it's well worth a look!
I hope you have a fantastic week ahead! Stay warm friends 😉
Hello! I hope you've been having a wonderful week! It's been really hot here, and I'm not going to complain at all because our summer is so short! So we've actually been inside a lot during the hottest parts of the day. Thursday, the girls and I went to our local scrapbook store for a card make 'n take, which was fun, and I got to visit with a couple of my besties- also fun! And then we did some shopping ;) After supper we had family movie night and watched ET. My two younger girls had never watched it and I hadn't seen it in a long time. They loved it! So, today I'm popping in to share a cute Kitty Bee Designs card using the Happy Birthday digital stamp to celebrate the 100th Challenge Celebration Post for the Kitty Bee Designs Aloha Friday Challenge Blog!! They are celebrating 4 years of challenges - so amazing! I printed this cutie out on kraft cardstock and coloured her in with Jane Davenport Magic Wand coloured pencils. Then, I used a square Kaisercraft stitched die to cut her out. I am absolutely loving these stitched dies!!
I added a couple cute paw prints with my new Antique Linen Distress Oxide (I'm going to love this ink!) and a birthday sentiment from a Your Next Stamp set.
I layered some Kaisercraft Wildflower paper (love!) on a kraft base along with a scalloped Spellbinders Nestabilities diecut and used some SpiegelMom Scraps string and sequins along with a pretty 28 Lilac Lane button. A touch of Glossy Accents and Stickles finishes it off, and now she's ready to help somebody special celebrate their birthday!

Our challenge this time is...
Scrapbooking - ANYTHING GOES
With an Optional Twist - This Day in History For this TWIST there are several different ways you can create a THIS DAY IN HISTORY page. One way is to take a member of your family or an event (like buying a house). Then put all the details about that day in history that you care to share. What year it was. How much gas costs or how much your house cost (it will seem so cheap years from now when everything is so expensive). Or you can take a member of your family and talk about / compare what things were like when they were born (popular song, movie, headlines, wars they may have lived through) and then list those same things as they are today. However you decide to use this TWIST, we can't wait to see how your creativity shines through.
Our challenges run for 2 weeks. This one will close on Mon, June 8 @ Noon Eastern time - giving us time to pick a Top 3 for the post the following day with our Next Challenge.
We will also be choosing one winner per challenge to win a cut file from our amazing sponsor -
These files are perfect to include in your Pocket Scrapbooking Layouts and in your other crafting as well.
For this week's challenge I've used a day from 2012 that was a very special day - my daughter's first day of school! I've also used our optional twist as a play on words fitting with the school theme.
I used journaling cards from the Later Sk8r Picture My Life collection from CTMH! The more I use these the more I love them! I printed Reading, Writing and History from the computer and added them to my strip on the left of the page. I layered my horizontal pics on the journaling cards along with some Heidi Swapp rub-ons that look like sequins.
The First Day Of School card is printed from the Project Life App and layered on the CTMH card.
I cut a 3x4 CTMH card which said Fully Amazing Day and layered the banners on top of another CTMH card. The colours in the cards worked so well with this layout!
Thanks so much for joining me!! I love seeing and hearing what you are up to! I have an exciting GIVEAWAY this week too on my Facebook Fan Page - Like my page and comment on the giveaway post for your chance to win!
