Magical Memories Collected Layout!

Hello friends! I'm back today with a magical layout using some fun Close To My Heart products!  I've been doing a fun collab with my friend Jennifer Smith and sharing some creative projects using some of the awesome supplies in her Shop!! I'd love for you to check her out - you can find her online at her BlogWebsiteFacebook page and Instagram! The December SCT Sampler also had some fun CTMH products included this month and I thought it would be fun to combine them!! A friend gave me a beautiful gift basket this year, which included so many thoughtful items! One of them is this fabulous nutcracker. She has given me various nutcrackers over the past few years and now I officially have a collection!

I used the CTMH Wood Grain Paper as the background for my layout. I absolutely love this paper pack!! There are so many wood grains to choose from in many different shades! I also love using them as backgrounds to photograph cards on, so I'm very happy there are two of each double sided paper per pack! I pulled some snowflakes out of the Jolly Characters Stamp Set and heat embossed them with Wow Wanderlust Embossing Powder, which is glittery and almost iridescent.

The  Jingle Joy Paper is so beautiful, with soft colours on one side and black and white prints on the other! This can definitely be used for any season just by flipping it over to use the other side. I followed a Sketches In Thyme scrapbook sketch and added in some Oh What Fun Complements Stickers. I do love the Stamp Of The Month feature from CTMH where each month you can get a beautiful full size stamp set at a fabulous discount with a minimum purchase. I used the September 'Here For The Memories' stamp set around the page.

I used my Cricut Maker to cut out the Nutcracker Soldier design #MF9C5BCB in Cricut Design Space - free with Cricut Access, using the Jingle Joy and Wood Grain Papers to add a finishing detail to the page.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Be sure to check out Jennifer and all the fun things in the CTMH Shop! I hope you have an amazing week friends!

Christmas JOY Card!

Hello friends! I'm back today with a cute Christmas Card using the adorable Jolly Characters Stamp Set and Comfort and Joy Paper from Close To My Heart! Now this particular paper has sold out, but there are so many beautiful paper packs to choose from - you could easily create this project using any of them! Over the past couple months I've been doing a fun collab with my friend Jennifer Smith and sharing some creative projects using some of the awesome supplies in her Shop!! I'd love for you to check her out - you can find her online at her BlogWebsiteFacebook page and Instagram! These adorable mini characters are so quick to colour to make up some quick and easy cards! I used my Cricut Maker to cut out the shaped card design #MB2A9C in Cricut Design Space - free with Cricut Access -and used the pretty Comfort and Joy Paper to cut layers for a candy cane that looks good enough to eat!

I used some Distress Oxide Ink to stamp the little shining star stamps from the Jolly Characters Stamp Set in the background before layering on some stickers to spell the word JOY. I added in the adorable reindeer coloured with Copics and used foam dots to pop them up to add dimension. Some pretty Stickles decorate the holly berries, and I even used some of the white, clear and silver sequins from the Got Candy Sequin Pack to finish up with a little more bling. If you still have a few more cards to get out you might just want to try this one for a fast and fun project!

Jolly Character Christmas Card!

Hello crafty friends! I'm back today with a sweet Christmas card using the adorable Jolly Characters and Comfort and Joy Paper from Close To My Heart! Over the past couple months I've been doing a fun collab with one of my friends Jennifer Smith and sharing some creative projects using some of the awesome supplies in her Shop!! I'd love for you to check her out - you can find her online at her BlogWebsiteFacebook page and Instagram! I couldn't wait to colour up these super sweet mini characters to add to this cute Christmas card. I used my Cricut Maker to cut out a scallop edged rectangle and a frame with 9 circles cut to fit these cute images using the Comfort and Joy Paper.

I even used the Maker to draw a circle frame with one of the gold Cricut pens. After colouring in the Jolly Characters images - and they colour up quick! - I popped up the frame with foam tape. I even cut a coordinating bow and then added some Nuvo glitter drops for shine! This set is going to be perfect for a December album, journaling, calendars, tags and mini cards too!!

Mini Slimline Halloween Cards Collaboration!

Hello again friends! I'm back today with two cute and not too spooky cards for Halloween. We've decided our family is going to stay home this year, but that doesn't mean we can't have fun!! I'm still making Halloween cards, we're going to have our own party with spooky treats, crafts and games and of course dress up and have candy! I'm super excited to share these cards with you using products my friend, Jennifer Smith from Close To My Heart, sent me to do a collab with her. I'd love for you to check her out - you can find her online at her BlogWebsiteFacebook page and Instagram!! I'm using the awesome supplies from the Got Candy Bundle, which includes a stamp set, paper pack, sticker sheet, coordinating cardstock & sequins!!

I used the clear stamps from the bundle as my focal images, colouring them with Copic Markers and adding white gel pen highlights, some Stickles and Glossy Accents for even more fun!

The patterned paper from the bundle is so cool and worked perfectly to make mini slimline cards using the Photoplay #6 die. I cut the front stitched cardbase and then backed it with more of the papers included. I used some white embossing powder to heat emboss the Trick Or Treat sentiment from the stamp set and then used one of the fantastic pumpkin sequins from the coordinating mix. I absolutely love these 'handdrawn' stars and I know they'll be used a lot throughout the year!

The little haunted house is so cute!! I cut the door so that it would open and used more of those awesome ghost and spider sequins along with some glittery Stickles! I think the candy corn looks good enough to eat!!

For the second card I again created a mini slimline - seriously love this size at 3 1/2 x 6 1/2! The patterned paper is double sided so you have lots of choices for combinations, and I cut the cardbases from the coordinating cardstock from the bundle!

I heat embossed Happy Halloween on this card and stamped some of the solid stars from the set, using Wanderlust WOW Embossing Powder. It looked so cool, I had to use it with these delicious looking gumdrops too!! I stamped with Distress Oxide Ink, which stays wet long enough to emboss! I'm definitely going to be pulling out these stamps for Christmas too - and I may have to stop at the store for gumdrops. 😜

The little bat and pumpkin are adorable and they look like they are having a wonderful time!! These guys are a great size to use on your cards and scrapbook pages!!

Here's a look at all the goodies included in this fabulous Got Candy Bundle - and you can check out this Halloween Layout HERE for more inspiration using this kit!

Happy Halloween Layout - Collaboration!

Hello friends! I'm so excited to be back today to share a fun Halloween layout with you! I love Halloween... the candy, the costumes, the photos and all the fun paper crafts you can make for this fun holiday! But I'm really excited today to share an awesome collaboration I'm doing with my crafty friend, Jennifer Smith!! I think it's always awesome to get together with fellow makers and support each other. Jennifer is from Alberta too and she is a total sweetheart! I'd love for you to check her out - you can find her online at her Blog, Website, Facebook page and Instagram!! Here's a look at how this scrapbook page came together!

Below you can also check out the crafty 'haul' VIDEO showcasing the goodies I received from her so that I could share some projects created with the wonderful products from the current Close To My Heart Catalog. My first project for you is a sweet and not too spooky Halloween Layout using the awesome Got Candy Bundle, which includes a stamp set, paper pack, sticker sheet, coordinating cardstock & sequins!! (Don't forget to check out the video to see it close up!)

I love this pumpkin paper!! and there are so many ways you can coordinate the stamps & stickers! I used the Happy Halloween sticker as a title, mounted on some of the matching cardstock - seriously awesome Halloween colours... I grabbed some Dina Wakley Gloss Spray Paints to add some fun paint splatters on the background and layered on my matted photos.

The sequins are so awesome, with the creepy crawly spiders, cute ghosts and shiny pumpkins - along with several sizes of round sequins in matching colours. I used some Distress Oxide Inks to stamp onto the tags I diecut from the cardstock pages. I even added one of the zip strips from the bottom of the page as border accents under the pumpkin paper!

Here's a look at the video where you can check out all goodies I'll be creating with! You'll find all the products linked in the YouTube description.

I had so much fun creating this layout, and I can't wait to share more with you! Be sure to check out Jennifer and let me know what your favourite new products are! Have an awesome week friends!

Happy Fall Owl Teacher Card!

Hello friends! I can't believe how quickly August is flying by! It's all too easy for bedtimes to be pushed a bit later and the girls seem to adjust to sleeping in all to quickly. With back to school coming September 2nd, I'm feeling the need to try to get back to a bit of a routine while still enjoying the warm weather and lazy days. We spent the last few days doing lots of organizing - I know when I get that feeling I need to grab a hold of it since I'll run out of steam or time soon enough. The funny thing about organizing is it's addictive! Pretty soon the girls are cleaning their rooms and Mike's cleaning the garage... and then we are all left feeling great about our accomplishments. Now, don't get me wrong, there are still plenty of spaces left to purge, clean and organize, but for right now there's a few very tidy areas that have me smiling every time I walk by them. When I'm feeling the need for a little break I just grab a few crafty supplies and colour up some cute images, which today turned into a very sweet teacher card ready to tuck into a new backpack for the first day back to school.

I started off with a Distress Oxide Inked background from a piece of paper I was playing with a few days ago. I used my craft mat to squish the inks on my mat, spritzed them with water and dipped my paper in, drying in between dips until I had an effect I liked. I had a CTMH alphabet embossed folder which I used to emboss the background and then sponged on some brown Oxide Ink to highlight the raised areas.

The cute owls from the Lawn Fawn So Owlsome Set are coloured on Bristol Cardstock with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. I used some white gel pen to add highlights and added Glossy Accents to the green apple. I used a Happy Fall Line Border diecut sentiment that was included in one of the SCT Sampler Packs and added trees and a small cloud from the Lawn Fawn Center Window Picture Card Die and Add On sets along with Studio Katia Clouds cut from some pre-inked papers in my stash. The larger apple is from the CTMH School Kids Stamp Set.

Inside, I used a 'hello' sentiment from Hello Bluebird Just Sayin', 'teacher' from Studio Katia Kobi Loves School, and you're owlsome' from the Lawn Fawn So Owlsome set. I love how well these all worked together!

I had fun pulling out all my teacher/back to school stamps and crafty goodies to create a cute card. Just by having a few different sets in front of me at a time I was able to combine them and their sentiments for a lot more options. Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderful, crafty weekend!

Timepiece Father's Day Card!

Hello! I'm back today to share a Father's Day card using Pinterest as inspiration. A friend came over last week and we chose a card we liked the style of and spent the morning doing a little crafting. I layered some Canvas Corp Ivory Cardstock and some black cardstock over a kraft cardbase cut to a 5 1/2" square. Then I used a black and white print from the Canvas Corp Black and Ivory 5x7 paper pad (there are so many options with the B&W prints) and added some SpiegelMom Scraps Natural Burlap String, a button, and some leafy diecuts from the newest Tim Holtz Funky Floral Set 3.

I found an older CTMH stamp set that included the sentiment and timepiece stamp so I used Distress Oxide Ink and spritzed it lightly with water before stamping the watch to create a slightly watercoloured look. I also splattered some ink with a paintbrush onto the background and then stamped the sentiment with Archival Black Ink. I used a bit of Ivory paint to coat the grooves of the metal embellishment before adding it on top of the card.

Inside I stamped a simple Father's Day sentiment.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a fantastic week and get a little crafty time to play this week!

Happy Easter Bunnies!

Hi! How are you all doing today?!! With Easter approaching the end of the month I wanted to get a few Easter cards done, and this cute digi image from Gerda Steiner Designs - Spring Bunny Friends was just right to start with!

I used the YNS Stitched Hills dies to create a mask to softly layer a sky and grass background with Distress Oxide Inks and then added some YNS Stitched Clouds stamped with a CTMH Happy Easter greeting.

I added the Easter eggs from an older CTMH stamp and coloured both with Prismacolor and Hobby Colour Markers - both alcohol based. I used some foam dots to pop them up to look like the cute bunnies are sitting behind and layered on some pretty SMS sequins.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a wonderful weekend!!

Kitty Bee Designs - Honey Bear Twist Turn Birthday Card!

Hello! I'm popping in to share this cute Twist Turn birthday card using the adorable Honey Bear image from Kitty Bee Designs that I'm sharing on the Kitty Bee Designs blog today. My sweet niece Emily turns one this week and I thought she'd love this card! I printed this sweet digi stamp on Kraft paper and coloured her in with Jane Davenport coloured pencils before adding some white highlights with a Dylusions paint pen. I found a number 1 sticker in my stash and added glitter and Glossy Accents to make it pop on the honeycomb background paper.

I used the YouTube Twist Turn Card tutorial to create the card base. It's a neat fold and pops when you open the card! I had a mini CTMH stamp set with the little bees and hive that I pulled out to use on the card base. I love how the blue and yellow honeycomb papers are not from the same collection, but work together because of the patterns! I used the blue flower to coordinate the colours as well.

Inside, I used a stamped sentiment from two Your Next Stamp stamp sets and a few more SMS sequins. Perfect for a little girl who is turning 1!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderful week.
