I love how fun combining stamp sets can be! I grabbed a watercolour background from my stash and layered on a border diecut from Your Next Stamp. I'm sure one of my girls teachers is going to love it!

Inside, I stamped a sentiment and this cute tiny ruler using the Studio Katia Kobi Loves School stamp set.

Happy Fall Owl Teacher Card!

Hello friends! I can't believe how quickly August is flying by! It's all too easy for bedtimes to be pushed a bit later and the girls seem to adjust to sleeping in all to quickly. With back to school coming September 2nd, I'm feeling the need to try to get back to a bit of a routine while still enjoying the warm weather and lazy days. We spent the last few days doing lots of organizing - I know when I get that feeling I need to grab a hold of it since I'll run out of steam or time soon enough. The funny thing about organizing is it's addictive! Pretty soon the girls are cleaning their rooms and Mike's cleaning the garage... and then we are all left feeling great about our accomplishments. Now, don't get me wrong, there are still plenty of spaces left to purge, clean and organize, but for right now there's a few very tidy areas that have me smiling every time I walk by them. When I'm feeling the need for a little break I just grab a few crafty supplies and colour up some cute images, which today turned into a very sweet teacher card ready to tuck into a new backpack for the first day back to school.

I started off with a Distress Oxide Inked background from a piece of paper I was playing with a few days ago. I used my craft mat to squish the inks on my mat, spritzed them with water and dipped my paper in, drying in between dips until I had an effect I liked. I had a CTMH alphabet embossed folder which I used to emboss the background and then sponged on some brown Oxide Ink to highlight the raised areas.

The cute owls from the Lawn Fawn So Owlsome Set are coloured on Bristol Cardstock with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. I used some white gel pen to add highlights and added Glossy Accents to the green apple. I used a Happy Fall Line Border diecut sentiment that was included in one of the SCT Sampler Packs and added trees and a small cloud from the Lawn Fawn Center Window Picture Card Die and Add On sets along with Studio Katia Clouds cut from some pre-inked papers in my stash. The larger apple is from the CTMH School Kids Stamp Set.

Inside, I used a 'hello' sentiment from Hello Bluebird Just Sayin', 'teacher' from Studio Katia Kobi Loves School, and you're owlsome' from the Lawn Fawn So Owlsome set. I love how well these all worked together!

I had fun pulling out all my teacher/back to school stamps and crafty goodies to create a cute card. Just by having a few different sets in front of me at a time I was able to combine them and their sentiments for a lot more options. Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderful, crafty weekend!

Wild Whisper Designs - First Day!

Hey friends!! I hope August has been fantastic for you all 💙I've enjoyed being home for the summer with my girls, spending lots of time playing, getting outside, and doing a bit of crafting. They head back to school soon, so of course we have been thinking about school shopping, fall and getting ready for the first big day back. I'm really excited to be guest designing for the Wild Whisper girls and this will be my second layout with this collection. If you didn't see my first layout where I use the library and book prints, be sure to check it out here!

FCCB #309 - Back To School!

Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge!

Challenge #309-Back to School
Create a project that features anything about school

This Weeks Sponsor

The prize is 4 digital stamps!

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used. If you use a Cricut Explore machine, at least one cut must be from the Cricut catalog of images.

This year is my littlest one's first year of Kindergarten! I can't believe she is really starting... The time goes by so quick! She's really ready though and is looking forward to meeting her teacher and making new friends. Back to school is always an exciting time for my girls (and me ;). I remember buying school supplies and being so excited about the change of seasons. Fall is definitely my favourite! So, for this challenge I knew I wanted to make my girls each a card to celebrate back to school.

I'm using the super cute Bugaboo Digital Stamp 'Ava School Sign It' paired with Cricut cuts from the Classroom- Oct/Nov, Recess and Autumn Celebrations cartridges. I started off by opening the digi stamp in PicMonkey and adding the black on the chalkboard area and the white text over it. I even added some fun chalk effects in the background using the PicMonkey program.

After I printed them both off on white cardstock I used Prismacolor and Hobby Colour Markers, both alcohol based, to colour in the cute Ava image.

I added some Distress Ink sponging around the edges and used a white paint pen to add a few white highlights to the digi image and diecuts.

A few shiny sequins from SpiegelMom Scraps in colours to match gives a little bling!

Inside, I added this fun diecut sentiment.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you had a great weekend - it's a holiday for us here today and then 'Back To School' Tuesday!! Be sure to check out all the other fun projects on the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog and enter your own for a chance to win!

FCCB #259 - Back To School!

Welcome to another Challenge Me Monday...

Challenge #259 Back to School
Make a project featuring school related activities or teachers!

This Weeks Sponsor:

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used. If you use a Cricut Explore machine, at least one cut must be from the Cricut catalog of images.

And, if you submit a project in our challenge that isn't a card, you will get two entries for a chance to win the prize instead of one!

For my project this week I created some lunch box notes for my 8 year old daughter who is going into Grade 3! I can't believe it!! Last September I started off the year making a few notes - well she loved them so much and was so disappointed when she didn't get one that I ended up giving her one everyday! She actually keeps them all and looks through them quite often :) Something little that makes her that happy actually makes it worth it, but I just realized I'd better get working on getting these babies stockpiled!

I used a few different cuts to make these fun note cards -
Cricut cuts are:
CREATE  and the CHEVRON cut are from ZOB
The GLASSES are from Party Photo Props
The SQUARE bases are from Basic Shapes
YOUR WORLD IS YOUR CANVAS quote is from Phone Decals

Then I used Miss Kate's Cuttables files:
School Supplies Set and
School Supply Set for all the fun school supplies on the cards.

I used some stencils and Distress Inks to stencil in some backgrounds on my card bases and even used the Write feature for the quote - love that feature! I used Prismacolor Markers to shade my cuts to add a realistic shaded look to them before adding them on the square backgrounds.

On the back I always write a little note to my daughter, but I also wanted to include some of the Small Talk stickers from Tim Holtz - great quotes!

Thanks so much for joining me today! I can't wait for you to check out what all the other Design Team members have come up with too on the Fantabulous Cricut blog! Don't forget to enter your own project for a chance to win a wonderful prize - just make sure you have at least 1 Cricut cut and let us know what cartridge you used. Plus you get an extra entry for any projects that are not a card - how cool is that?!!

Bimini Moose Scrapbook Challenge - AG with optional twist This Day In History!

Click HERE for the latest ScrapbookerPhD challenge!
Click HERE for the latest FCCB Challenge!

Happy Tuesday! I'm back today to bring you another Pocket Scrapbooking challenge over at BIMINI MOOSE!
Our challenge this time is...
 Scrapbooking - ANYTHING GOES
With an Optional Twist - This Day in History
For this TWIST there are several different ways you can create a THIS DAY IN HISTORY page. One way is to take a member of your family or an event (like buying a house). Then put all the details about that day in history that you care to share. What year it was. How much gas costs or how much your house cost (it will seem so cheap years from now when everything is so expensive). Or you can take a member of your family and talk about / compare what things were like when they were born (popular song, movie, headlines, wars they may have lived through) and then list those same things as they are today. However you decide to use this TWIST, we can't wait to see how your creativity shines through.

Our challenges run for 2 weeks. This one will close on Mon, June 8 @ Noon Eastern time - giving us time to pick a Top 3 for the post the following day with our Next Challenge.

We will also be choosing one winner per challenge to win a cut file from our amazing sponsor -
These files are perfect to include in your Pocket Scrapbooking Layouts and in your other crafting as well.

For this week's challenge I've used a day from 2012 that was a very special day - my daughter's first day of school! I've also used our optional twist as a play on words fitting with the school theme.

I used journaling cards from the Later Sk8r Picture My Life collection from CTMH! The more I use these the more I love them! I printed Reading, Writing and History from the computer and added them to my strip on the left of the page. I layered my horizontal pics on the journaling cards along with some Heidi Swapp rub-ons that look like sequins.

The First Day Of School card is printed from the Project Life App and layered on the CTMH card.

I cut a 3x4 CTMH card which said Fully Amazing Day and layered the banners on top of another CTMH card. The colours in the cards worked so well with this layout!

Thanks so much for joining me!! I love seeing and hearing what you are up to! I have an exciting GIVEAWAY this week too on my Facebook Fan Page - Like my page and comment on the giveaway post for your chance to win!

Be sure to pop over to Bimini Moose and check out the rest of the DESIGN TEAM and what they have created to inspire you to play along. There will be several posts on the Bimini Moose blog during our challenge, so if you want to see the current challenge, click on the CHALLENGES tab on the blog. Pretty Cute Stamps - Lunch Box Notes

Hello everyone! Today I'm bringing you some back to school goodness for the Pretty Cute Stamps blog. Yesterday was my 7 year old's first day of Grade 2! I don't think I was quite ready for all the back to school hustle and bustle!

She loves it when I send little notes in her lunch bag, and I usually draw something on a napkin and write her a little message. This year I thought I would send a cute mini lunch box note every once in a while as well, and these stamps with their funny and sweet sentiments were just the thing to decorate them with!

I stamped the images on some vanilla cardstock cut at 2 1/2" square. I rounded the corners and coloured them in with Prismacolor Markers and Jellyroll Glaze and Soufflé pens. I added a little sparkle with the Jellyroll clear glitter pen.

These were so fun to create for my daughter - I know she will appreciate them and they'll brighten her day!

I can't get enough of these amazing sentiments!! Here are the backs of the notes:

For my cards today I used:
Chick With Brains
Just Chill

Check out the Pretty Cute Stamp store  http://www.prettycutestamps.com/ to browse through all the sweet sets available!

Have a wonderful week!
