Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps February Skrappy Challenge!

Good morning krafty friends!

It's February, and that means it's time for a brand new
SKRAPPY CHALLENGE

with Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!

The theme of course is ANYTHING BUT A CARD!

For this challenge you can make anything that strikes your fancy....except a card!
So design a new scrapbook page, bookmark, tag, altered item, planner page, art journal, ATC cards...whatever you like!

Here's some fabulous inspiration this month!
I created bookmarks with my Cricut for this challenge and stamped them with the Happiness Is Reading sentiments!

They are stamped in Magical Midnight Krafty Kolours Ink, and I added some inking around the edges.

I seem to have lots of ephemera in my stash, lol, so I grabbed paper flowers and butterflies to accent the bookmarks.

I added some pretty stickers and washi to finish them off! These were then bundled up and sent off to Kraftin' Kimmie for her birthday! She is an avid reader, so I know she'll love them!!

Just make sure to include some Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps products and make sure it's a new creation!  As soon as we have at least five people playing along, we'll be giving away a $10 gift voucher to the krafty shop as the monthly prize!

You have until Monday, March 6th to enter, and you can submit as many new creations as you like for more chances to WIN!  Also be sure to share your designs on the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps' Krafty Friends facebook page because we love to see your stuff!

Check out all the details from the Krafty Team below and be inspired to get skrappy!!

Magical Memories Collected Layout!

Hello friends! I'm back today with a magical layout using some fun Close To My Heart products!  I've been doing a fun collab with my friend Jennifer Smith and sharing some creative projects using some of the awesome supplies in her Shop!! I'd love for you to check her out - you can find her online at her BlogWebsiteFacebook page and Instagram! The December SCT Sampler also had some fun CTMH products included this month and I thought it would be fun to combine them!! A friend gave me a beautiful gift basket this year, which included so many thoughtful items! One of them is this fabulous nutcracker. She has given me various nutcrackers over the past few years and now I officially have a collection!

I used the CTMH Wood Grain Paper as the background for my layout. I absolutely love this paper pack!! There are so many wood grains to choose from in many different shades! I also love using them as backgrounds to photograph cards on, so I'm very happy there are two of each double sided paper per pack! I pulled some snowflakes out of the Jolly Characters Stamp Set and heat embossed them with Wow Wanderlust Embossing Powder, which is glittery and almost iridescent.

The  Jingle Joy Paper is so beautiful, with soft colours on one side and black and white prints on the other! This can definitely be used for any season just by flipping it over to use the other side. I followed a Sketches In Thyme scrapbook sketch and added in some Oh What Fun Complements Stickers. I do love the Stamp Of The Month feature from CTMH where each month you can get a beautiful full size stamp set at a fabulous discount with a minimum purchase. I used the September 'Here For The Memories' stamp set around the page.

I used my Cricut Maker to cut out the Nutcracker Soldier design #MF9C5BCB in Cricut Design Space - free with Cricut Access, using the Jingle Joy and Wood Grain Papers to add a finishing detail to the page.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Be sure to check out Jennifer and all the fun things in the CTMH Shop! I hope you have an amazing week friends!

Christmas JOY Card!

Hello friends! I'm back today with a cute Christmas Card using the adorable Jolly Characters Stamp Set and Comfort and Joy Paper from Close To My Heart! Now this particular paper has sold out, but there are so many beautiful paper packs to choose from - you could easily create this project using any of them! Over the past couple months I've been doing a fun collab with my friend Jennifer Smith and sharing some creative projects using some of the awesome supplies in her Shop!! I'd love for you to check her out - you can find her online at her BlogWebsiteFacebook page and Instagram! These adorable mini characters are so quick to colour to make up some quick and easy cards! I used my Cricut Maker to cut out the shaped card design #MB2A9C in Cricut Design Space - free with Cricut Access -and used the pretty Comfort and Joy Paper to cut layers for a candy cane that looks good enough to eat!

I used some Distress Oxide Ink to stamp the little shining star stamps from the Jolly Characters Stamp Set in the background before layering on some stickers to spell the word JOY. I added in the adorable reindeer coloured with Copics and used foam dots to pop them up to add dimension. Some pretty Stickles decorate the holly berries, and I even used some of the white, clear and silver sequins from the Got Candy Sequin Pack to finish up with a little more bling. If you still have a few more cards to get out you might just want to try this one for a fast and fun project!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Be sure to check out Jennifer and all the fun things in the CTMH Shop! I hope you have an amazing week friends!

Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps Saturday Challenge #554 Make Your Own Background!

Good morning and welcome to another fabulous and fun Saturday Challenge at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps! Are you ready for another fun and krafty challenge to inspire you and help get your creative juices flowing? We've got some fabulous ideas for you and can't wait to see what you create! This week, our challenge for you is to make your own background! You can really take this challenge in so many different directions! You could make an inky or stencilled background, you could create a scene with diecuts, you can get out your stamps... I decided to create a patterned paper look by using various little Halloween images from Mini MonstersOwl-Chemy, I Want Candy and Too Cute To Spook and colouring them in with a no-line colouring look!! I first stamped all the fun images in with various colours of Kraftin' Kimmie Krafty Kolours Inks - and I could have left it there - but I decided to colour the images in with Copic Markers. I love it when I find little accessory stamps in sets - they are perfect to add in to little areas!!

I stamped this adorable little monster from the Mini Monsters Stamp Set and coloured her in with  Copics. I added a little bit of a 'furry texture' by dotting my darkest purple marker over top. I love the adorable accessories in this set!! I stamped the balloon, treat bag and bows and layered her over a spooky fence diecut with my Cricut Maker.

I love the sentiments in this set and chose this cute one to heat emboss on a black banner, adding some orange and white bakers twine around the top. I added some tiny Halloween Dots and some Glossy Accents to finish off the card!

Each and every Saturday we post a brand new challenge for the week and you are welcome to enter as many times as you like. These must be new creations and you are welcome to use any stamp, however, using Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp and products will earn you double entries! The monthly prize is a $25 voucher to the Krafty shop!!! Woohoo!  There are two ways to enter: you can link up your creation on the  Kraftin’ Kimmie blog and you can upload your photo to the album in our Krafty Friends FB group.

Also, if you need a little extra inspiration or a jump start to your mojo, we have a new sketch each month! Feel free to use it any time!

And don't forget about this weekend's Frugal Friday Specials!!  We've got a selection of gorgeous stamp sets on SALE 40% OFF this weekend while supplies last!!  Plus our new October Release is NOW available and everything is in stock!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Be sure to check out all the other projects our fabulous Design Team has come up with - and get started on your own background project!! I can't wait to see what you share! Happy kraftin'!

It's amazing how quickly the time passes!! I thought it would be fun to take some indoor pics and use them with the fun papers and sentiments. I cut the Indoor part of the title with my Cricut Maker using the Adventure paper. The May Creative Scrapbooker Sketch was perfect to pull it all together!

Sew Sweet Pea Love Pattern with Cricut and a Giveaway!!

Hello friends! I hope you had a great weekend! I'm back today with a fun project you just might want to try, and a fun GIVEAWAY below!!  I made this as a gift for my niece and actually used this Canvas Tote as the gift bag to give her birthday gifts in! If you haven't heard of Sew Sweet Pea, you'll definitely want to check them out! They are a family run business with beautiful sewing patterns that can be cut with your electronic cutters using the SVG pattern file! Now, if you don't have an electronic machine you can still cut out their beautiful patterns by hand using the downloadable PDF. They also include lots of information on how it goes together and even give you instructions on how to applique and what kind of stitches you can use! I decided to cut the Love Cushion Applique Sewing Pattern pieces out of Natalie Malan Patterned Iron-On Vinyl using my Cricut Maker, but you can just as easily cut them from fabric.
I love that the Love word and hearts actually form a heart! I thought these pretty Patterned Iron-On colours actually looked like fabric! Don't forget to mirror your cuts when you're using Iron-On! One of the files that comes in the download is actually mirrored so you won't forget - and yeah I'm saying that because you know I forgot, lol! I left my hearts 'backwards' but I had to recut the Love... Oh well!

Here's a quick video where you can see how easy it is to upload this pattern into Cricut Design Space! Don't forget after you have it you can use it to cut fabric, vinyl, iron-on, paper and more!!

I trimmed close to the backing material so I could layer each heart and letter on and iron them on at one time with my Cricut EasyPress 2 and the EasyPress Mat. I'm telling you the EasyPress 2 and Mat is a game changer! I pressed for the recommended time and then removed the liner pieces and I love how it turned out!!

Now for the Giveaway!! I have 3 vouchers sponsored by Sew Sweet Pea!

Leave a comment telling me if you like to use fabric or iron-on vinyl (or something else!) to make a special gift for yourself or someone else.... Extra entry if you tell me what your favourite Sew Sweet Pea Pattern is!!
3 Vouchers to be won 1) 50% off your order, 2) $10 Gift Voucher, 3) $25 Gift Voucher!! -Leave your comment(s) by Friday May 8 @ 11:59 MST - winners announced Saturday, May 9th!

Two Layouts Using Scrap Shotz March 2020 Kit!

Hello! I hope you're all doing well! We had a lovely Easter Weekend and even though we didn't get to see family in person, we chatted on the phone and dropped off a few care packages. The girls were so excited to find Easter goodies waiting for them and of course we had turkey dinner. :) I also had fun putting two layouts together for the Scrap Shotz Blog using the beautiful March 2020 Kit featuring the absolutely gorgeous Pinkfresh Studio My Favorite Story collection!! I decided to start with the  Creative Scrapbooker Magazine April Sketchy Challenge. If you're ever stuck or just enjoy starting with a sketch like me you'll find tons of sketches in this Facebook Group!

Here's a look at the Video where you can see how this layout came together and how fun it is to use the Tim Holtz Embossing Glazes to embellish your diecut ephemera!

And I had so much fun I had to create one more layout! This one is a special one of myself and my husband on a date night a few years ago. I loved being able to document these photos in such a beautiful way! I was able to grab the cutfiles for FREE from the Pinkfresh Studio Fan Group! The albums in the group have all the available files free to download and there is lots of inspiration, as well as challenges in their group! I used my Cricut Maker and Design Space to cut out the flowers and the leaves from cardstock that was in the kit! I decided to play along with the Fan Group's Sketch Challenge for this week and make it even more fun!

Be sure to head over to the Scrap Shotz Blog to get all the closeups and details for both these layouts, and check out this pretty kit in the Shop! We also just started a new Scrap Shotz Paper Crafting Group on Facebook, and we'd love to see you over there!  Have a happy and safe week my friends!

50 Rocks Birthday Card!

Hello! I have an exciting card to share with you from the Wild Whisper Blog today!  I pulled out the Masculine Collection from Wild Whisper and my Cricut Maker and got busy making a card for my husband's...50th birthday! He's an amazing guy, and we are so lucky to have him, and he really does rock - so this card was perfect!!

Inside, I used a frame cut from one of the 12x12 pages and stamped it with a birthday sentiment. I really am loving using my Maker to cut shaped cards and then putting my own touch on them!

Thanks so much for stopping by! You can find the cutfiles on Cricut Design Space HERE ready to customize, and be sure to use the code DTKARLA to save 10% in the Wild Whisper Shop. All the details as well as closeups can be found on the Wild Whisper Blog. Have an amazing weekend friends!
