Kraftin' Kimmie Saturday Challenge #520 - For The Boys!

Good morning and welcome to another Saturday challenge at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps! This week our challenge is FOR THE BOYS. This is a great challenge to get you crafting those masculine cards for big or little boys! I could definitely stand to create more of those types of cards, so this was a fun challenge for myself. I decided to use the cute hippo image and sentiments from Hip Hippo-ray! to decorate the front of my card, which is a little on the grungy side. I coloured the Hippo image in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, stamped on Bristol Cardstock. I love how many fun images there are in this set - if you missed last week's card challenge post you can find it HERE and I'm actually using a cute girly hippo!
I pulled out an older Kaisercraft 6 1/2x 6 1/2" paper pad and used some of the awesome patterned paper, borders and cut apart images in the pad to create a fun seaside feel to this card. I inked the edges of the polaroids with Creamy Caramel Krafty Kolours Ink and then used Lovely Lagoon with the Waves Stencil to add a little more colour to the watercolour background paper. The Magical Midnight Ink was perfect to stamp sentiments from the set on the front and inside polaroids. I splattered some Tim Holtz Mica Spray on various areas by removing the nozzle and tapping it over the paper.
Inside, I added the remainder of the sentiment strip cut from the patterned paper and another polaroid with "You're Kind Of A Big Deal" stamped inside. I added a few more metallic splatters, and my card is ready for a big or little guy's Big Day!
Each and every Saturday we post a brand new challenge for the week and you are welcome to enter as many times as you like. These must be new creations and you are welcome to use any stamp however using Kraftin' Kimmie stamp and products will earn you double entries! Echo Park Little Lumberjack - Product Review and Projects!

Hello friends! I am so excited to be over on the Scrap Shotz Blog today to share the new Echo Park Little Lumberjack collection - available in the shop now! This collection is full of plaids, nature images, flannels - just so awesome. Really it works with so many different themes... masculine, outdoors, camping, winter and even teddy bears as you'll see in my layout below. First, here's a look at all the available elements in this collection.

Here's a look at the video where you can see it all close up-

For my first project I decided to make a layout about the Grade 1 class bear, Barnaby, that came to visit! I thought these papers and stickers worked perfectly to document his adventures! I used the December Creative Scrapbooker Sketch as inspiration.

Next, I used the papers from the 6x6 pad along with all the other fun goodies to make 4 masculine cards. I never seem to have enough of these on hand, and they can easily be personalized with a message when needed.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Be sure to head over to the Scrap Shotz Blog where you can see closeups and get all the details on the Little Lumberjack collection and the projects I created! I'll be back to share more inspiration using this awesome collection on Friday, so don't forget to come on back!

Kitty Bee Designs - #120 Masculine Cards!

Hi Friends! I hope you've been having a lovely week so far! I've had lots of fun creating projects lately and here's one more for you!  It's time for the midweek inspiration for Challenge #120 over at the Kitty Bee Designs Challenge Blog - Aloha Friday!

Challenge #120
Masculine Cards

Super big thanks to our sponsor for this challenge

I chose the super cute Kitty Bee Designs Gamer Panda digital stamp to create a fun, masculine card this week! I think this would be perfect for any guy (big or small!) birthdays, hello cards or even a cool Father's Day card. I coloured this guy up with Jane Davenport Magic Wand coloured pencils - which go on like butter 😉 and then used a stitched circle diecut to cut around the image.

I used the For The Boys paper pad from Your Next Stamp, some YNS Firecracker Sparkly Gumdrops and the Chill Out stamp from the YNS Waddles Bring On The BBQ stamp set to finish off my card!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Be sure to check out the Kitty Bee Designs Aloha Friday Challenge to see all the inspiration from the other awesome Design Team members - and enter your own project HERE for a chance to win!! Have a wonderful weekend!

Emerald Creek Craft Supplies - Guy Style Congrats Card!

Hi friends! I'm back today for the Emerald Creek Blog to share my take on our May Challenge theme - Guy Style. I created a New Home Congrats card with a masculine feel using the new Baked Texture Embossing Powders from Emerald Creek, the Emerald Creek Out The Back Door outhouse stamp and papers from the Wild Whisper No Place Like Home collection.

I used my Distress Oxide Inks to watercolour the image in after embossing with the Patina Oxide powder. Then, the Chunky Rust added a vintage rusted look to the diecut Your Next Stamp tag.

I added that wonderful Chunky Rust powder again to the No Place Like Home card and then coated the whole thing with Vintage Beeswax powder. It's amazing how much it actually looks like a rusted metal vintage sign!

Inside, I added an embossed sentiment stamp using Deep Sea and some SpiegelMom Scraps Sequins.

These powders are so amazing to work with! They are great for embossing stamps or altering your embellishments - like I did with the button and stars on the front of the card and the little arrow I turned to be a house on the inside tag.

Supplies Used:

Embossing Powder-

Kitty Bee Designs - Puppy Love Birthday Card!

Hello! I hope you have all been having a wonderful week! It seems the time flies, and my girls have been busy getting ready for Halloween and enjoying the lovely fall weather we've had lately. Today, I'm sharing an adorable puppy birthday card over at the Kitty Bee Designs blog - perfect for a little boy birthday! I'm using the super sweet Puppy Love digital stamp by Kitty Bee Designs.  I just love printing my images on kraft cardstock and then colouring them in with my Jane Davenport Magic Wand colouring pencils! The grey and white plaid paper from a Lawn Fawn 6x6 paper pad coordinated nicely with the grey paper and green ribbon from a BoBunny Ephemera Pack. I've been enjoying using these lately with such a great selection of embellishments and papers all in one pack. The sweet sentiment from the Fur Baby stamp set from Pretty Cute Stamps worked perfectly for this card!

I used a Kaisercraft stitched square die to cut out the puppy and added some Glossy Accents to the hearts and nose for a bit of dimension. Some sparkly sequins from SpiegelMom Scraps add some coordinating colour and interest.

Inside, I used a few more stamps from the Pretty Cute Stamps set and added some more shiny sequins! How cute is the 'party' sentiment?!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a fantastic week ahead!

FCCB #303 - Masculine Cards!

Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge!

Challenge #303-Masculine Cards
Create a project that features cards suitable for boys or men

This Weeks Sponsor

The prize is 4 digital stamps!

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used. If you use a Cricut Explore machine, at least one cut must be from the Cricut catalog of images.

For my project for this challenge I'm using the digital stamp Make It Snappy- You Light Up My Life from our awesome sponsor Bugaboo Stamps, which I coloured with Prismacolor and Hobby Colour Markers - both alcohol based. I wanted to make a card that I could give to my hubby - just for being so awesome! Even though the patterned paper has pink in it, I focused on the yellows and reds by using those colours in my colouring and diecuts - giving it a more masculine feel.

I diecut the lightbulb from the CTMH Artistry cartridge and cut a lightbulb border from the Wall Decor and More cartridge. The fun background paper is from a Retro paper pad I got from Michaels, and I was excited to discover it would go so well with my theme!

I added some Stickles glitter to the diecuts and a clear Glimmer pen to the stamp to add a bit of bling. Just because this card is for a guy doesn't mean it shouldn't have a little sparkle 😉

A little Distress Ink around the edges of my diecuts gave it some shading and I layered the digi stamp on red cardstock and popped it up with foam dots.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! If you haven't stopped by over the weekend, you may want to also check out the fun blog hop that's still going on HERE! And don't forget to head over to the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog to see what all the other designers have come up with for this challenge and enter your own for a chance to win!

Happy Birthday Masculine Card using Wild Whisper Products!

Hello! Hope you've all had a wonderful weekend! We celebrated my husband's birthday on Friday and I made this birthday card for him using some wonderful supplies from Wild Whisper! I layered the beautiful papers from the Focus On You 12x12 Paper Pack in the background, using more of the masculine colours in the collection, and stamped the camera and feathers from the Focus On You Wild Whisper Stamp Set using a gradient ink pad. I love that you can use all the elements from these paper packs - and the strip of cameras at the bottom of one of the patterned papers was perfect to add as a border along the top of my card! I added a sentiment from one of the Tim Holtz chit chat sticker packs and used my Dylusions Paint Pens to add some hand drawn stitching lines.

I fussy cut around the feathers and then popped one up with foam dots when I got them layered they way I wanted. I added a bit of Stickles for bling - cause every birthday needs bling! Then, I topped it with some gorgeous sequins and a cork star from SpiegelMom Scraps as well as some of the Focus On You sequins, which were designed exclusively for Wild Whisper by SpiegelMom Scraps! They coordinate beautifully with the collection!

Here's a look at the inside, where I added another of the Tim Holtz stickers and a Happy Birthday stamp from the Wish Big Pretty Cute Stamps set. I wanted to coordinate the envelope, so I used the camera from the Wild Whisper stamp set again with some of the stamps that look like a flash! P.S. I used my 3 new ink colours from the Tim Holtz Oxide Distress Inks for the flashes and I LOVE how these inks stamps! I'll definitely be sharing more on these as I build my collection ;)

Here's a Project Life page I made with the PL App! If you want to try the recipe for the Pumpkin Spice Bread that I used to make Mike's gluten free cake you can find it HERE.
Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope your weekend was fantastic and you got some time for yourself!
