Mixed Media Card Inspiration!

Tonic Studios Blossoming Bouquet Stamps & Stencils Bundle!

 Hello Friends! I'm so excited to be back today to share a brand new exciting release from Tonic Studios - Blossoming Bouquet Stamps and Stencils Bundle!! I've created some beautiful cards using awesome Tonic and Nuvo products - check out the links at the bottom of the page - and a walk through Video of these lovely products with a look at exactly how you can create them! 

The Layered Lily Stencil contains 5 stencils/masks to create a gorgeous flower background! I stenciled with Metro Gray, Sunrise Yellow and Lime Burst Nuvo Inks and stamped a sentiment from the Blossoming Bouquet Stamp Set with Black Shadow Ink. I used the flower mask and Glitterati Gold Glimmer Paste for the centers of the flowers and then added a strip of Seafoam Green Mirror Cardstock. All cardbases were created using the Craft Perfect A4 Smooth White Cardstock, and I cut the cardbases to be 4 1/8" x 5 1/2". I added in some Cloud 9 Dream Drops around the sentiment.

Here's another colour variation on the Layered Lily Stencil with Metro Gray, Moroccan Teal and Lotus Flower Inks. I used Frosted Petal Glacier Paste in the centers this time.

I added a sliver of Candy Floss Glitter Cardstock!

The Blossoming Bouquet Stencil is so cool! You stencil the leaves first and then twist the floral images to line up! For a tutorial using this stencil, be sure to check out the video below!

I stenciled the leaves first with Lime Burst Ink and then the roses with Lotus Flower on this card. I used Dried Oregano to add flourish stamps from the stamp set and added Enchanting Pink Glitter Drops on this tiny stenciled dots. The beautiful butterflies from the set are stamped with Black Shadow Ink and coloured in with Pastel Highlights Color Pencils. I popped them up with Nuvo Foam dots and added the awesome friendship sentiment.

For the second version of this stencil, I used the other flowers and a combination of  Moroccan Teal and Sliced Strawberry Inks. I added in stamping with Marble Statue Ink. I used Silver Lining Crystal Drops and Love Potion Dream Drops to accent the background this time. 

I again coloured in the butterflies with the Pastel Highlights Coloured Pencils in colours that matched the inks.

For the Lovely Layering Stencil, I inked the flowers in Sunrise Yellow and used Pink Novalie Glitter Paste as my accent layer. In the video you'll see another colour combo! 

I stamped the flourishes with Dried Oregano Ink and then use some Nuvo Alcohol Markers to colour in some tiny flower and leaf stamps. The Lotus Flower Ink was perfect to stamp the sentiment and matched that Candy Floss Glitter Paper perfectly! I added in a few Enchanted Pink Glitter Drops for the finishing touch!

For my last card, I simply used the beautiful Blossoming Bouquet Stamp Set! There are so many amazing images!! I stamped on Kraft cardstock, which is always great to add pencil colouring to, and used the Dark Shadows Classic Color Pencils to add a vibrant effect! 

I added some pretty dots of colour using the French Lilac Crystal Drops.

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps September New Release Hop & Shop!

There are so many amazing goodies this month!! It was certainly hard to decide what to use today, but I was feeling drawn to this amazing Perfect Poinsettia stencil. This beautiful stencil has been so popular the KKS Shop actually sold out due to Krafty Klub, the In-person Retreat and Wholesale orders, but you can preorder yours when it goes live in the shop later today and they will be restocked by the end of the month!

I pulled out some Nuvo Glimmer Pastes in Turquoise Topaz and Glitterati Gold to create a two toned background.

I used some Nuvo Shimmer Powder to slightly colour the diecut sentiment as well as the black mat for a shimmery effect and popped it up on my glittery background!

Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps August Skrappy Challenge - ATC Tutorial!

Good morning krafty friends!

It's August, and that means it's time for a brand new
SKRAPPY CHALLENGE

with Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!

 The theme of course is ANYTHING BUT A CARD!

For this challenge you can make anything that strikes your fancy....except a card!
So design a new scrapbook page, bookmark, tag, altered item, planner page, art journal, ATC cards...whatever you like!

Here's a quick little tutorial on how I created my project for this month's Skrappy Challenge! 

1. I used the Lots Of Love Stencil and sprayed through using Distress and Dylusions Mists. I used Vicki Boutin's Foundations paper, which is a great base when you're doing any mixed media! You can see where I sprayed through the stencil and then flipped it over and layed the stencil face down for both positive and negative effects.

2. Next, after the sprays dried, I added ink sponging with the Magical Mosaic Stencil and Luscious Lemon, Ocean Opulence and Lavish Lilacs Inks in various areas around the page.

3. I splattered black Distress Oxide Spray over the background. You do need to be really sure this is dry before moving onto the next step! I used a heat gun.

4. I stamped sentiments from the Butterfly Dreams Stamp Set after cutting the background into 2.5 x 3.5" rectangles for an ATC size. I used Gorgeous Grape, Festive Fuchsia and Sparkling Sapphire Inks.

5. I added some sparkle with Stickles Glitter Paste and the polka dot pattern in the Pattern Parade Stencil.

6. I stamped the gorgeous butterflies from the Butterfly Dreams Stamp Set with Nuvo Embossing Ink and then with Wicked Black Ink on a stamping platform before heat embossing with WOW Wanderlust powder for a sparkly effect.

7. I fussy cut the butterflies and then glued them to the background in the center of the butterfly, over a circle of gold metallic thread, leaving the wings unattached. 

8. I added gold flat sequins & small butterfly sequins.

9. I finished it off with sentiment strips cut from Tim Holtz stickers and drawn stitched lines using a black pen.

Just make sure to include some Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps products and make sure it's a new creation!  As soon as we have at least five people playing along, we'll be giving away a $10 gift voucher to the krafty shop as the monthly prize!

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps July Krafty Peeks... Day THREE! Puppy Power! Plus a Challenge!

 Today is our final day of Krafty Peeks for the July Release 

 at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!

We are so excited to share an adorable set

PUPPY POWER!

This sweet set has so many cute doggie images and accessories, plus sentiments for any occasion! Plus our new Pawprints 2 stencil is perfectly matched!!

I started off creating a mixed media background with the Shimmer Spray from the Add-On Bundle and added in some of the sprays from my stash! I spritzed the mists on my glass mat, added a spray of water and dipped the paper in several times, drying in between. Then I splatted some water and dried again for lots of inky goodness! Finally, I added the paw print stencil using Marvelous Mocha and the new Glorious Grapefruit Inks.

I stamped these adorable pups and coloured them in with Nuvo Alcohol Markers, using some soft, neutral brown colours. Then I pulled out the other awesome new stencil we have this month - Breezy Backgrounds and created a pretty and clean stenciled area for these cuties to sit, of course using again the new Glorious Grapefruit ink!

I finished off the card with Nuvo Dream Drops embellishments, Nuvo Crystal Glaze for the puppies noses and eyes, and a sweet sentiment from the set stamped again with Marvelous Mocha!
