Kitty Bee Designs #128 - Fairytale/Fantasy!

Hi Friends! I hope you've been having a lovely week so far! I've had lots of fun creating projects lately and here's one more for you!  It's time for the midweek inspiration for Challenge #128 Fairytale/Fantasy over at the Kitty Bee Designs Challenge Blog - Aloha Friday!

Challenge #128

Super big thanks to our sponsor for this challenge
Bugaboo Stamps - http://www.bugaboostamps.com
and
Fabrika Fantasy - http://www.fabrikafantasy.com/

For this challenge I'm using the adorable Sweet Unicorn digi stamp from Bugaboo Stamps! I decided to colour him up with Prismacolor and Hobby Colour markers, which are alcohol based, in a light pastel colour scheme. I added some glitter to the clouds and painted on some sparkly wings as well as adding some white gel pen highlights. I used a Your Next Stamp scalloped stitched rectangle to cut out around the printed and coloured image.

I pulled out my September SCT Sampler pack and used a piece of pink paper from the Vicki Boutin Field Notes collection along with the fun sentiment paper from the My Mind's Eye Well Hello collection as a base for the card. I popped up the cute unicorn image with some foam tape to give some dimension.

I added some thread loops on the bottom and tacked them under a cork heart that I embossed with one of Emerald Creek Craft Supplies new embossing powders - Magical Mysteries Kiss of The Fairy and then glued on some gorgeous SpiegelMom Scraps Sequins (don't forget to use the code KARLA15 at the SMS Shop to save 15%)

Inside, I used sentiment stamps from Hello Bluebird and added some Your Next Stamp stitched cloud diecuts.  This card is ready to send to a friend to say hi or for a special occasion!

Kitty Bee Designs #112 - AG with optional Love/Marriage!

Hi Friends! I hope you've been having a lovely week so far! I've had lots of fun creating projects lately and here's one more for you!  It's time for the midweek inspiration for Challenge #112 over at the Kitty Bee Designs Challenge Blog - Aloha Friday!

Anything Goes
Optional Love/Marriage

Super big thanks to our sponsor for this challenge:

and

MMedel Illustrations - https://www.etsy.com/shop/MMedelIllustrations

For this challenge I'm using a pretty digi image from Bugaboo Stamps - Live Laugh Love Rose Block. I wanted to create a vintage mixed media tag using this image, so I grabbed some fun supplies and got inky! I printed the digi image onto white cardstock and coloured in the flowers, butterflies and leaves with Prismacolor and Hobby Colour Markers (alcohol based) before using Distress Inks to sponge a blended ink layers over the background. I heated the image first with my heat gun to help prevent ink bleeding. Then, I added Versamark Ink over top and shook on clear UTEE, which is a thick embossing powder. I layered on 3 coats of the UTEE, heating and melting the powder each time, and then after it cooled completely I bent it carefully in different directions to add vintage cracks in the surface.

I started out by stenciling the background of a black chalkboard paper tag with Distress Oxide Inks for a subtle hint of colour. Then I used a craft stencil from Little Birdie Crafts and some of their Wild Wasabi paint to add some pretty leaves over the background.

I inked up the edges of some Canvas Corp Brands Tan & Ivory French Script paper to tuck behind the digi stamp and then layered it over a piece of tissue from my stash and a pretty floral Tim Holtz diecut from the Botanical collection. The Vintage Tim Holtz Collage Medium was a great glue and added a subtle sepia tone to the ephemera I glued down. A piece of green jute twine from Little Birdie Crafts ties a pretty bow at the top and a lovely Architextures Findings Vintage Key hangs down. I think this sentiment is probably a very important 'key' to a happy marriage... 😉

I added a Tim Holtz Paper Doll image, which I coloured in a bit with Prismacolor Markers, some pretty blue glitter from Little Birdie Crafts, and some lovely Chocolate Cookies Sequins from SpiegelMom Scraps to finish it off!

Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge!

Bugaboo Stamps

The prize is 4 digital stamps!

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used. If you use a Cricut Explore machine, at least one cut must be from the Cricut catalog of images.

For my project today I'm using the adorable BugXmasTroll digital stamp from our awesome sponsor, Bugaboo Stamps! Isn't she adorable?!! I know it's early, but before you know it.... you know what will be here ;) and this year I'm going to be ready. For me, that means not rushing around to make cute Christmas cards! I really want to enjoy the making process and from past experience I know how quickly time flies once September arrives with back to school and all that jazz. So, I'm not wishing away my summer, but I do enjoy making Christmas cards - so I figured why not get started!

I started off by cutting a piece of patterned paper from a Heartfelt Creations 12x12 page and sponging some Distress Ink around the edge. Then, I layered my Cricut diecuts - a scalloped frame from the Gypsy Wanderings cartridge, a Christmas heart tab from the Simply Sweet cartridge and the holly berries from the Stretch Your Imagination cartridge.

I printed my cute Christmas troll out onto kraft cardstock and coloured her in with Jane Davenport coloured pencils. I really love the look of coloured pencils on kraft! After she was done I added some Stickles for bling on her earrings, some glittery gel pen and white gel pen accents and added Glossy Accents on top of the peppermint candies and candy cane.

Inside, I used a strip of coordinating paper and added a Tim Holtz sentiment stamp from the Crazy Sentiments stamp set, along with a few more beautiful SpiegelMom Scraps sequins.

A little Nuvo silver dots around my scalloped border and some shiny Perfect Pearls on the holly berries add just a little more glitter ;) Ok! one card down....! And thanks to my friend Theresa for all the amazing crafty Christmas card inspiration each week!

FCCB #303 - Masculine Cards!

Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge!

Challenge #303-Masculine Cards
Create a project that features cards suitable for boys or men

The prize is 4 digital stamps!

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used. If you use a Cricut Explore machine, at least one cut must be from the Cricut catalog of images.

For my project for this challenge I'm using the digital stamp Make It Snappy- You Light Up My Life from our awesome sponsor Bugaboo Stamps, which I coloured with Prismacolor and Hobby Colour Markers - both alcohol based. I wanted to make a card that I could give to my hubby - just for being so awesome! Even though the patterned paper has pink in it, I focused on the yellows and reds by using those colours in my colouring and diecuts - giving it a more masculine feel.

I diecut the lightbulb from the CTMH Artistry cartridge and cut a lightbulb border from the Wall Decor and More cartridge. The fun background paper is from a Retro paper pad I got from Michaels, and I was excited to discover it would go so well with my theme!

I added some Stickles glitter to the diecuts and a clear Glimmer pen to the stamp to add a bit of bling. Just because this card is for a guy doesn't mean it shouldn't have a little sparkle 😉

A little Distress Ink around the edges of my diecuts gave it some shading and I layered the digi stamp on red cardstock and popped it up with foam dots.

Kitty Bee Designs Challenge #84 - Fall Colours

Hi Friends! I hope you've been having a lovely week so far! I've had lots of fun creating Fall projects lately and here's one more for you!  It's time for the midweek inspiration for Challenge #84 over at the Kitty Bee Designs Challenge Blog - Aloha Friday!

Challenge #84 - Fall Colors

Super big thanks to our sponsor for this challenge, Bugaboo Stamps!

For my project today I'm using one of the super cute digi stamps from our wonderful sponsor Bugaboo Stamps - Autumn Kidz! After printing her out on white cardstock I used coloured pencils to colour her in. There is something so basic and relaxing about colouring with coloured pencils. I didn't use anything fancy - I just used the pencils my girls have in their colouring drawer!

I used a Basic Grey paper from the Highline collection for my background paper and layered it on each side of my gatefold card. I had a Heidi Swapp clear stamp in my stash which came with a steel die, so it was great to add this word bubble hello sentiment.

I added some white, clear and sparkly gel pens to my project as well as some Glossy Accents. This squirrel in her hair cracks me up! The sequins are from the Autumn Joy Fall sequin mix from SpiegelMom Scraps.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Be sure to head over to the Aloha Friday Kitty Bee Designs Challenge Blog to see all the awesome inspiration and enter your own Fall Colors project for a chance to win!

And we are giving away a $25 Amazon gift certificate, courtesy of FCCB Design Team! This prize will be given if there are 10 entries or more.

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used. If you use a Cricut Explore machine, at least one cut must be from the Cricut catalog of images.

For my project today I made a pretty Fall card using the Tablescapes Fall and Winter Cricut Cartridge, which was the Free Cut Of The Week last week. For some reason I had never before figured out how to access the free cartridge! So unless I came across it in my searches or saw an email and then remembered to look for it, I just never used it. It's so easy, so just in case you aren't aware of how to access it easily in Design Space here are the instructions: 1) Open Design Space, and open a new project. 2) Click Insert Image. 3) On the top right of the screen click 'Categories' and there will be the Free This Week option!

I used the pretty Accent Flourish cut behind my Bugaboo Stamps digital image Autumn Critters, which I coloured in with coloured pencils before popping up with foam dots to add some dimension. The lovely fall paper is an old paper pack by imaginisce - I love the colours in it!

I was quite excited to cut these pretty leaves and feathers and really liked how the cuts in the centers looked darker after I shaded them with Distress Inks. I grabbed my Tim Holtz Mica Sprays and spritzed the three different colours on the diecuts. I love the sparkly mist these sprays add - and I love how the mica spray reacts with the inks!

I used a circle Hello stamp and punched it out with 1" circle punch, adding some Distress Inks around the edge. Some white, clear and sparkle gel pens add details to the sentiment and stamped image. Lastly, I added some beautiful sequins from the Autumn Joy Sequin Mix from SpiegelMom Scraps.

Inside, I used another diecut leaf layered over a white insert, ready for whatever sentiment is needed!
