Paper Doll Canvas with Gyspy Seamstress Papers!

Hello! I am so excited to share a pretty canvas with you that I created for the Canvas Corp Brands blog using the gorgeous 7gypsies Gypsy Seamstress Mixed Media Pad. I love vintage sewing ephemera, and this collection is full of just that! I'm always reminded of my grandmother, who loved to sew and draw my sister and me paper dolls, and this canvas was the perfect combination of those two things! Be sure to check out the video below where you can get a look at exactly what is in this beautiful Mixed Media Pad.

I used Mod Podge to add layers of the pretty papers to a canvas after inking the edges with Distress Oxide Ink, and I created some dimension by using foam tape and curling edges. This cute Julie Nutting paper doll was just perfect to add to the top of the canvas!

I used some Tattered Angels mists to add colour to the rick rack from my stash, and even added a vintage package of the rick rack that I found in my ribbon drawer. A bit of Glossy Accents added a realistic effect to the buttons and snaps I cut from the patterned papers.

Here's a look at everything you get in this beautiful Gypsy Seamstress Mixed Media Pad in the video below!

SpiegelMom Scraps - Tea Party Pocket Page Layout!

Hi friends! I hope you're having an awesome week! I wanted to share a pocket page layout I posted on the SpiegelMom Scraps Instagram feed last week using photos of my girls having a lovely tea party. Our theme this month is 'recycling' and 'flowers' so I chose to use lovely flowery prints from the Maggie Holmes Bloom paper pad along with amazing vintage pieces from the 7gypsies Architexture Enjoy Stash Paque, including pieces taken right from the packaging - which is one of the cool things about the Architextures products!

I printed a couple cards directly from the Project Life app and used some tea stamps from Pretty Cute Stamps to decorate them along with the beautiful SMS sequins. I love when you find tiny flowers in the sequin mixes!

This vintage tea pot and cut from the Stash Paque is so lovely. I also used some of the 7gypsies Architextures Tall Base Swirls on this card, which are dimensional stickers you can cut, colour and layer!

I used some alphabet dies to cut out the 'TEA' from a diecut piece of the packaging and added some 'party' stickers included in the Stash booklet.

Here's a look at the lovely SMS sequin mixes I used for this layout - Hello Colorful You, Vintage Spring and Sunflower Fields.

Kitty Bee Designs #112 - AG with optional Love/Marriage!

Hi Friends! I hope you've been having a lovely week so far! I've had lots of fun creating projects lately and here's one more for you!  It's time for the midweek inspiration for Challenge #112 over at the Kitty Bee Designs Challenge Blog - Aloha Friday!

Challenge #112
Anything Goes
Optional Love/Marriage

Super big thanks to our sponsor for this challenge:

For this challenge I'm using a pretty digi image from Bugaboo Stamps - Live Laugh Love Rose Block. I wanted to create a vintage mixed media tag using this image, so I grabbed some fun supplies and got inky! I printed the digi image onto white cardstock and coloured in the flowers, butterflies and leaves with Prismacolor and Hobby Colour Markers (alcohol based) before using Distress Inks to sponge a blended ink layers over the background. I heated the image first with my heat gun to help prevent ink bleeding. Then, I added Versamark Ink over top and shook on clear UTEE, which is a thick embossing powder. I layered on 3 coats of the UTEE, heating and melting the powder each time, and then after it cooled completely I bent it carefully in different directions to add vintage cracks in the surface.

I started out by stenciling the background of a black chalkboard paper tag with Distress Oxide Inks for a subtle hint of colour. Then I used a craft stencil from Little Birdie Crafts and some of their Wild Wasabi paint to add some pretty leaves over the background.

I inked up the edges of some Canvas Corp Brands Tan & Ivory French Script paper to tuck behind the digi stamp and then layered it over a piece of tissue from my stash and a pretty floral Tim Holtz diecut from the Botanical collection. The Vintage Tim Holtz Collage Medium was a great glue and added a subtle sepia tone to the ephemera I glued down. A piece of green jute twine from Little Birdie Crafts ties a pretty bow at the top and a lovely Architextures Findings Vintage Key hangs down. I think this sentiment is probably a very important 'key' to a happy marriage... 😉

I added a Tim Holtz Paper Doll image, which I coloured in a bit with Prismacolor Markers, some pretty blue glitter from Little Birdie Crafts, and some lovely Chocolate Cookies Sequins from SpiegelMom Scraps to finish it off!

Stitched With Love!

Happy Monday everyone! I'm sharing a card over at the Pretty Cute Stamps blog today - using one of the new sets from the June/July release Sew Amazing. I love all the fun little details that come with this set!! I used the straight stitch stamp around the edge of some Cosmo Cricket paper using Vintage Photo Distress Ink. Then I stamped some buttons on patterned paper circles before punching out with a circle punch. I added a sweet vintage looking patterned image from the paper pack that I 'glittered' the edges of and then popped up my buttons to surround it.

The sewing machine image was stamped from the Sew Amazing set onto a tag that was part of the paper pack as well as on some patterned paper, which I then cut out and glued to my tag. I dipped the bottom of my tag into glitter to add a fun effect, and then I stamped a sentiment from the set under my tag. I love the script on this stamp!

I used the zig zag stamp from the set as well as some more buttons and another sentiment to the inside before edging with some Distress Ink.

Here's a look at this awesome set!
