SpiegelMom Scraps - Thanksgiving Treat Boxes!

Hi friends! Karla here today with some cute treat boxes I made for all my Thanksgiving guests this past weekend! I love that Thanksgiving is early here in Canada.... Honestly, I wouldn't be able to wait till November 😉We served turkey dinner for 9 people - it was a full table and a very happy Thanksgiving - with so much to be thankful for!

Be sure to head over to the SpiegelMom Scraps blog to get all the details and see the adorable closeups! Here's a look at the process I used to create this box that was originally created by Angie from ChicnScratch. Click the VIDEO LINK HERE or click below to see my process - You'll also get to see what I put inside them!!

Here's a few photos I'm sharing from our family dinner!

The table's set and it's the calm before the storm!

Everyone is ready to eat, but I make them hold off for a quick photo!

Traditional turkey dinner - Turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, veggies, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce - and wine!

And a cheesy photo of the girls, lol!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! If you're in Canada, I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving this past weekend - and if you are one of my US friends - I hope you'll have fun creating some handmade projects for your Thanksgiving coming up soon!

Halloween Treats!

My girls are so excited about Halloween, and one of the things they love to do is give out treats to their friends at this time of the year! I recently saw these adorable diecut witch hats on a fellow blogger's post and thought they'd be perfect to add to Erica's treat bags. You can find this super cute Witch Hat Lollipop Holder FREEBIE svg file here from SVG Cuts.

I also wanted to make up some cute tags for the bags, so I started by making a grid in a word processing program on my computer and inserting the Halloween digital stamps and sentiments from Pretty Cute Stamps. I originally made these as Lunch Box Notes, but figured they'd also work great to add to a tag. I left them uncoloured and added crayons to the treat bags so the kids could colour them after eating their candy. 'Cause you know a 4 year old is eating the candy first, lol!

I used the label feature on my computer to quickly create this sheet of labels - adding a sentiment from the Werewolf digital stamp set from Pretty Cute Stamps and typing in Erica's name below. After I stuck the stickers to the back of the tags, these cute bags were ready to tie up and head to the class party!

I thought these cute tags finished off the treat bags so nicely!

Here's Erica all ready to celebrate. She's actually planning on being a witch for the big day but wanted to change it up for today. And, hey, when you're 4 that's just how you roll!

Thanks for stopping by today! If you're celebrating Halloween, I hope you have lots of spooky fun!

Halloween Gift Set with Kitty Bee Designs!

Howdy Friends! I've got some exciting news to share with you today! I'm a new Design Team Member over at the Kitty Bee Designs blog!!

For my first project, I decided to use the adorable Halloween Mr. Bitty digital stamp to create a card and treat box holder gift set!

For the card I used an orange cardbase and inked the edges with Black Soot Distress Ink before layering on some Jillibean Soup papers, a pretty doily and some awesome sequins from SpiegelMom Scraps. I coloured the cute bat and pumpkin digi image with Prismacolor and Hobby Colour Markers and popped it up with foam dots to give him some dimension.

I found some awesome black ribbon in my stash and tied it around the border. The Happy Halloween sentiment comes with the image and I cut it apart to add it under my ribbon.

These cute tags were included in a Jillibean Soup paper ephemera pack and coordinate with the 6x6 paper pack. I added more Distress Ink and layered on some diamond sequins with a brad in the center - I think it totally looks like a bat ;) and a paper star and wooden bird with glitter.

For the treat box I followed along with a video from Chic'n Scratch on YouTube where she shows you exactly how to cut and score your cardstock to create this cute little box! I layered on another one of the Halloween Mr. Bitty stamps, printed smaller - one of the awesome things about digi stamps!! and cut it with a Spellbinders die and my Cuttlebug.

I filled the little glassine bags from SpiegelMom Scraps with candies and attached a Jillibean Soup label from that 6x6 paper pack and some washi tape. These cute little bags are food safe, and adorable ;) - and you can see them close up along with the sequins I've used in my YouTube video here on my New YouTube channel!

I added more of that awesome ribbon and a little spider web from the ephemera pack.

Here's one more look at this cute gift set! I love how it turned out and I'm so excited that I'll be bringing you more Kitty Bee Designs goodies in the future!

You can check out the Kitty Bee Designs blog here, the Etsy shop here, and the Kitty Bee Designs Aloha Friday Challenge blog here where you'll find tons of amazing inspiration and a chance to link up your own projects! Thanks so much for stopping by, and have an awesome week!

One Sheet Projects with Pretty Cute Stamps!

I sure hope all of my US friends had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend! We put up our tree and decorated for Christmas on Friday while we listened to Christmas music and had some very yummy snacks!

I'm sharing these cute cards and boxes today on the Pretty Cute Stamps blog, and I wanted to let you know how I made them. I've been using a lot of the Heidi Swapp Believe paper this year and have also been enjoying the One Sheet Wonder video instructions by Angie at My Chic'n Scratch. I love that you can take one sheet of patterned paper and some cardstock to create all these projects!!

I used the sentiments from the Nativity 1 and Nativity 2 stamp sets, as well as one on the inside of my card (bottom photo) from the Oh, Christmas Tree set, by Pretty Cute Stamps as my focal images. They are beautiful sentiments and are printed in wonderful fonts. I absolutely love these adorable images, but I really wanted to focus on these amazing sentiments this time! I dug through my stash of diecuts and even used my Cricut to cut some circles with coordinating scalloped edge frames to stamp on.

I love these cute little folded bags! The video link above shows you how to cut and fold all the pieces using just a scoring board and cutter. I love how CAS the cards are and even though I usually struggle with that style of card I am really happy with how they turned out. I think the sentiments really show up using these layouts. Below each card (bottom row) I've shown the coordinating inside sentiment.

Thanks so much for joining me today! Don't forget to check out our Gift Giving Challenge at the Pretty Cute Stamps blog this month and you could win yourself a fabulous gift certificate!
