Hi friends! I'm over at the SpiegelMom Scraps blog today sharing a gift set that features an adorable purse made out of a 12x12 piece of patterned cardstock along with a coordinating shaker tag and a card - just perfect for someone sweet! Our theme this month is tools, and I grabbed a lot of fun tools to add neat elements to my projects. The purse was so fun and easy to do using this step by step video HERE. Then, I added a sweet shaker tag with an eyelet - remember those 😉?!!
With the coordinating paper I made a Christmas card to go with the set, and I can't wait to share this with someone for a holiday gift!
Be sure to check out the SpiegelMom Scraps blog for all the details, closeups and a look at all the fun tools I used- and don't forget to use the code KARLA15 to save 15% off all your purchases at the SpiegelMom Scraps store!

To
qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your
project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used. If you use a Cricut Explore machine, at least one cut must be from the Cricut catalog of images.
For my project today I'm using the adorable BugXmasTroll digital stamp from our awesome sponsor, Bugaboo Stamps! Isn't she adorable?!! I know it's early, but before you know it.... you know what will be here ;) and this year I'm going to be ready. For me, that means not rushing around to make cute Christmas cards! I really want to enjoy the making process and from past experience I know how quickly time flies once September arrives with back to school and all that jazz. So, I'm not wishing away my summer, but I do enjoy making Christmas cards - so I figured why not get started!
I started off by cutting a piece of patterned paper from a Heartfelt Creations 12x12 page and sponging some Distress Ink around the edge. Then, I layered my Cricut diecuts - a scalloped frame from the Gypsy Wanderings cartridge, a Christmas heart tab from the Simply Sweet cartridge and the holly berries from the Stretch Your Imagination cartridge.
I printed my cute Christmas troll out onto kraft cardstock and coloured her in with Jane Davenport coloured pencils. I really love the look of coloured pencils on kraft! After she was done I added some Stickles for bling on her earrings, some glittery gel pen and white gel pen accents and added Glossy Accents on top of the peppermint candies and candy cane.
Inside, I used a strip of coordinating paper and added a Tim Holtz sentiment stamp from the Crazy Sentiments stamp set, along with a few more beautiful SpiegelMom Scraps sequins.
A little Nuvo silver dots around my scalloped border and some shiny Perfect Pearls on the holly berries add just a little more glitter ;) Ok! one card down....! And thanks to my friend Theresa for all the amazing crafty Christmas card inspiration each week!

I am so so super excited to announce I've joined the SpiegelMom Scraps Design Team! I've known Jody from SMS for a while now and she is such an amazing person with a fabulous small business that I've loved supporting. I am so honored to be chosen as one of her DT members and have to pinch myself that I get to work alongside such other talented, lovely ladies using such fantastic products!
Now, a little about me - I am a mom of 3 beautiful girls - ages 29, 10 and 5! I love creating and whether it's cardmaking, scrapbooking or home decor (and a little crochet) I'm always busy. I love involving my girls and seeing how they use crafty supplies in new and creative ways. I live in Calgary, Alberta Canada, but I grew up on the East Coast of Canada in Nova Scotia - so I'll always be a Maritime Girl at heart ;) If you've followed my blog you probably know I LOVE using SMS Sequins! To me, they are like sprinkles on the icing on a cake - fun, pretty and delicious! I chose a cute Gorjuss Girl in a tea cup stamp and used watercolour paper along with my Jane Davenport Mermaid Markers to colour in the images. I added a little tag to my removable tea bag, which I decorated with pretty star cork and sequins and attached to a belly band.
A while ago I got a Heartfelt Creations Christmas paper pad that had a lot of purple and blue papers in it and I thought it would be great to incorporate these colours into my spring card! I definitely don't see Christmas when I look at this card, so it was a neat way to get more use out of this pretty paper pad.
I love the 'twist and pop' motion of this card! I'm sure whoever gets this card is going to be intrigued!
I absolutely love the colours in these sequin mixes and the sweet little flowers included! I love using sequins inside my card too to decorate!
After taking off the tea and band this card can be propped up and looks just as lovely!

I printed this digi image on white cardstock and used some Prismacolor and Hobby Colour Markers to shade in the bunny and colour the carrot before using a circle cutter to cut him out along with a pretty patterned paper border. I used a Heartfelt Creations poppy die to make my little paper flower and layered it with a fussy cut embroidery hoop and puffy sticker from CTMH.
I have a booklet of Tim Holtz 'small talk' occasions stickers and found this cute Easter sentiment. A few scattered SpiegelMom Scraps sequins add some pretty bling!
Inside, I added some matching patterned paper, another TH sticker and a few more pretty sequins.
The Pink Paislee paper from the Take Me Away collection was perfect to add an Easter feel to my card.

Howdy crafty friends! I'm back today to share a cute little winter snow bunny card using the Snow Bun digital stamp from Kitty Bee Designs. We are set to get more snow this week, and I figured I might as well enjoy what's left of the season! I coloured this super sweet image in with Hobby Colour and Prismacolor Markers and added some white gel pen highlights and Stickles before cutting him out with a Spellbinders Nestabilities die and my Cuttlebug.
I am really loving purple lately, and I was excited to use this pretty paper from a Heartfelt Creations paper pad - Celebrate The Season. It has lots of gorgeous blues and purples, and even though there are wonderful Christmas images in it, there are also lots of snowy winter papers and images. I fussy cut out the mittens and skates and used the papers from the pad. I sponged Distress Inks around the edges and used my sewing machine to stitch around my layered papers. A few pretty sequins from the SpiegelMom Scraps Plum Dreamsicle sequin collection, a bit more Stickles and a couple drops of some Silver Nuvo Drops add some bling!
Inside, I used a stamp from my stash and another strip of that beautiful paper!
Hey there crafty friends! I recently was so lucky to win a prize of Heartfelt Creations stamps and dies from Why Not Win Wednesday at Creative Scrapbooker Magazine. I have to admit I had never used these awesome sets before, so it was a real treat to play with them! I watched a couple YouTube videos and I was on my way ;)
I started off by first stamping and then diecutting the Blazing Poppy stamps and then cut out the stamped images with the coordinating dies (not shown). I stamped on a red ombre cardstock, but you could use a solid colour cardstock or colour your own with Distress Inks.
I used Distress Ink to ink the back of my stamped image, which I probably didn't have to do, but I wasn't sure if it would show on the finished flower.
I used a stylus to create dimension on my petals, first on the back and then after turning over I rounded them into the middle. I spritzed them with water beforehand - you can notice the reaction from the Distress Ink - to make them more pliable.
I layered the petals together to create two different size flowers and glued them in the centers.
I used some Yellow Izink to add a bit of yellow colour close to the center of the flowers and then used matte medium to glue some pretty beads from 28 Lilac Lane in the centers.
Finally, I added some silver Stickles to my petals and voila - they are ready to go!
Thanks so much for joining me today! I hope you have a lovely crafty week!
