Pizza Layout & Pocket Page!

Hello! Wow, I'm not sure how the week went by so fast, but here we are at Friday again. Today I'm over on the Wild Whisper Designs Blog sharing a layout and pocket page using their brand new May collection - Talk Foodie To Me! This is such a fun bright collection perfect for lots of food themed activities and pages. I was so excited to get these photos scrapped of my oldest daughter's birthday when we went to Una Pizza in Calgary, Alberta. The pizza was awesome and their simple green salad was so good!

Happy Birthday Masculine Card using Wild Whisper Products!

Hello! Hope you've all had a wonderful weekend! We celebrated my husband's birthday on Friday and I made this birthday card for him using some wonderful supplies from Wild Whisper! I layered the beautiful papers from the Focus On You 12x12 Paper Pack in the background, using more of the masculine colours in the collection, and stamped the camera and feathers from the Focus On You Wild Whisper Stamp Set using a gradient ink pad. I love that you can use all the elements from these paper packs - and the strip of cameras at the bottom of one of the patterned papers was perfect to add as a border along the top of my card! I added a sentiment from one of the Tim Holtz chit chat sticker packs and used my Dylusions Paint Pens to add some hand drawn stitching lines.

I fussy cut around the feathers and then popped one up with foam dots when I got them layered they way I wanted. I added a bit of Stickles for bling - cause every birthday needs bling! Then, I topped it with some gorgeous sequins and a cork star from SpiegelMom Scraps as well as some of the Focus On You sequins, which were designed exclusively for Wild Whisper by SpiegelMom Scraps! They coordinate beautifully with the collection!

Here's a look at the inside, where I added another of the Tim Holtz stickers and a Happy Birthday stamp from the Wish Big Pretty Cute Stamps set. I wanted to coordinate the envelope, so I used the camera from the Wild Whisper stamp set again with some of the stamps that look like a flash! P.S. I used my 3 new ink colours from the Tim Holtz Oxide Distress Inks for the flashes and I LOVE how these inks stamps! I'll definitely be sharing more on these as I build my collection ;)

Pretty Cute Stamps Feature - Superhero Birthday!

I'm catching up on my Project Life pages and I wanted to share these cute photos from my niece's Superhero Birthday Party! Of course, I had to dress up these pages using the Superheroes and Super Sentiments stamp sets!!

I first used my Explore to cut out the coordinating SVG outlines and then stamped the images. I used Prismacolor Markers to colour them in. I love all the different sizes of stars that come in the set! Perfect for stamping all over my journaling cards! I used the sentiments to stamp over different areas of my pages, even masking off some of the stamps to get parts of the words.

I used some of the Cricut decorations I cut for the party and added them into my pockets as well as diecutting the little stars, stamping and then colouring them.

I sure love this little superhero stamp I used below! He looks like he's having so much fun! I think it's so cool to be able to personalize the journaling cards with these stamps.

Project Life Birthday Layout!

My darling big girl turned 27 in March and I wanted to include all the pics from her birthday dinner here in my PL album, but since I had quite a few I decided to collage them into smaller pics within the Project Life iPhone app.

For my first page I had a few pics of my youngest swinging at the park that I wanted to include with my week, so I kept them on the left hand side of the page. Then on the right side I added my title, a PL card from the iPhone app, some birthday pics and a journaling card I made with a Pretty Cute Stamps set Any Better Than This.  I love the cupcake pic on the bottom right of this page! The cupcake is in focus and everything behind it is a bit blurry - I really need to figure out how to do this more!

For my second page I used some Heidi Swapp journaling cards and stickers along with some fun paper diecuts from Maggie Holmes. I cut my collaged pics apart and layered them onto the cards. I also added a couple stamps from Pretty Cute Stamps, and two 3x4 journaling cards from PL.

Surprise Party

I wanted to document my daughter's 8 year old birthday in a pocket page/ Project Life style - so this was the perfect opportunity! She requested breakfast in bed, which was served as a smiley faced waffle, and got to open her presents in her jammies. She spend a morning playing and crafting before getting ready for the big party (more on that to come in the next few weeks!)

I absolutely love this cute little birthday girl diecut!! I edged with Distress Ink to add some shadows and added some coloured pencil rosy cheeks. This makes me think of my wonderful Nanny when she used to make us paper dolls!

The background of this journalling card is one from the Project Life app that I printed along with my photos. I thought it was perfect for layering my cupcake - taken from the Happy Birthday Cat diecut! The Celebrate is also a partial PL journalling card cut and layered.

I used the My Mind's Eye - My Girl paper pack and other scraps in my stash for diecutting and the Fabulous Girl Recollections paper pack from Michael's - which is the same as one of the Simple Stories paper packs! I really like cutting patterned paper for some of my diecuts - love the effect :)

Bimini Moose Feature - Happy Birthday - Blast From The Past!

I recently printed off a bunch of photos from last year and I'm now working on getting them into pocket pages.  I love traditional scrapbooking, but I find when I'm trying to work a little faster it helps me get those special pictures into my scrapbook using pocket page layouts.

For this layout I wanted to scrap my sister's birthday celebrations at my house. Her special request that day was seafood chowder.  Since we are from the Maritimes, of course this is one of my favourites too, and I was more than happy to accommodate her! And then, for dessert - Sticky Toffee Pudding!

I recently went through my stack of patterned papers and pulled anything out that had borders or parts that could be cut into journaling cards. I put them in a spot where I could easily access them when I was doing Project Life or Pocket Pages. This pocket page was from a We R Memory Keepers assorted pack.  I like having an assortment of styles on hand so, depending on my photos, I can choose the best layout. For my colour scheme I wanted to go with teal blues and pinks and I just dug through my stash until I found a combination that made me happy.  After all, that is what it's all about - doing this wonderful hobby to make ourselves happy!

The pink journaling card, above was from Kaisercraft Confetti Collection, the border from Quick Quotes paper, and the Remember card from Simple Stories December Documented. I think it's important to keep our eyes open for opportunities to use items that may be for Christmas, for example, on other themed projects!

I just love this wooden Prima doll! I had to use her to go along with the picture of the canvas I made for my sister, which included a stamped and paper pieced Prima doll. I added some bling with some adhesive rhinestones on the border piece and both journal cards, because a girl's birthday has gotta have some bling!

Travel & Birthday Pocket Page Scrapbooking!

So, I guess everyone is 'behind' in scrapbooking... But I just realized the 2010 pics I'm still working on are almost 5 years old! Holy Cow! I've decided it's going to be a bit easier to use some pocket pages to get those wonderful pictures into my scrapbook so my kids can enjoy them. :)

These layouts are showcasing pictures from the trip we took to Saskatchewan for my mother in law's 70th birthday, and all the fun we had along the way!

I used some Simple Stories and Recollections journaling cards, some stickers from CTMH, some stamps and lots of papers from my stash. I had previously edited some of the pics with a software program and was able to add 4 photos per background to get in all the extra photos I could!

Project Life App!

I hope you all have had a lovely Christmas! I have really enjoyed the past week and I'm really getting into my daughter being home for Christmas break - but it seems that bedtimes are creeping later and the girls are sleeping in - so I guess over the next few days we'll have to adjust that!

Have you been keeping up with all the amazing pocket page projects Janis from Bimini Moose has been sharing?! She's been working on her 2014 year in review layouts and they are so inspiring!!

I've been having so much fun playing around with the Project Life App on my iPad! I thought I'd share a few layouts I've created over the past few days featuring some holiday moments.

I'm going to try printing these out & I'll let you know how that turns out! I think I'll use an 8x8 format and put them in an album. I'm still trying to work out how I will structure my 2015 paper Project Life album, but like anything else, I guess it will be a work in progress and I'll just dive in!
