Project Life Week 15 and 16!

I'm sharing my PL weeks 15 and 16 today!

For the first page I printed a PL card from the Project Life App along with my collaged photos as well as using some patterned paper and a movie reel card from the Later Sk8r Picture My Life collection from CTMH. I didn't have a photo from our trip to the movies so I printed out a logo from online and added a journalling card. I layered my movie tickets with a popcorn image and sentiment from the Pretty Cute Stamps set Snack Time, as well as adding some extra popcorn from the same stamp set on the journaling about the movies

Week 15, page 2 I used a couple PL cards, some patterned paper and some Simple Stories diecuts.

Week 15, page 3 I used an older card I had at home and combined it with some Heidi Swapp and PL cards. I really like this page protector design! It came in a combo kit and since I print a lot of photos in the 3x4 size it really worked.

Week 15, page 4 was quite photo heavy so I only added the one card I printed out from the app after adding my journaling. Love this gold colour!

Week 15, page 5 - except for the flowers I didn't have any photos for our brunch, but I wanted to add journaling and the recipes I used, so I decided to make it a full 'food' themed page and had fun with diecuts and papers. Some of the diecuts are from Ruby Rocket and some papers are from the Echo Park Made From Scratch collection. I took a screen shot of the recipes I used and printed them with my photos.

Week 16, page 1 -I used lots of Pretty Cute Stamps on this page (Forest Friends and Pen Pals). I recently watched a video from May Flaum and she said she treats stamped images as she would stickers. Such a simple thing really, but I guess I hadn't thought of it being that easy! One of my favourite techniques right now is paper piecing stamped images!! I just love the look of the papers when you add them to your image. I coloured and paper pieced some cute images (ok, Pretty Cute Stamps are all cute!!) and added them to my page - easy peasy!

Week 16, page 2 lots of pics and journaling!

Week 16, page 3 I used lots of cards from the Later Sk8r  Picture My Life collection from CTMH! These are one of my favourite products right now!! Love the bright colours in this collection :) I cut some of the larger cards in half to fit in the smaller pockets and added some stickers, diecuts and washi tape!

Week 16, page 4 I used more of the Later Sk8r (Later Skater!) cards, washi tape and diecuts along with some more coloured images from Pretty Cute Stamps- Snack Time and Salt and Pepper. I just love how this page turned out!

I had already finished my weekly layout for Week 14  except for my Easter pics. I had a lot of  full 4x6 pics because I took most on my DSLR instead of my phone, and I decided to add them into my album with their own title, at the end of the week. I used a combination of PL cards, an American Crafts Dear Lizzy paper pack, along with some stickers and even a stamped image I had coloured for Easter, but didn't get to use on a card! I think just by using specific colours you can get the feel for a certain holiday without using a lot of themed paper or ephemera. I used lots of pastel colours and added in a few Easter items that I already had.

 I collaged the picture of my daughter looking at an Easter gift since it was vertical and didn't fit into the horizontal pocket. I had a sticker pack of chipboard flowers in my stash and used it throughout the Easter layout pages.

I recently picked up some Smash book supplies - where a pen was included - and I quickly realized how awesome this black pen is! It writes beautifully on cardstock and photos - drying instantly!

I added a couple layers of the paper cut into a washi tape look and even made a fake Polaroid where I cut a rectangle of patterned paper and put a square photo on top! I used one of the Happy Easter stamps from Pretty Cute Stamps. 

Since I only needed a small part of a journaling card for each vertical photo, I simply cut one in half and used each end. Every time I look at this ham dinner I get hungry, lol!

I cannot believe it's June! Where has the time gone? I really wanted to scrap these recent soccer pics of Erica's first year playing soccer. The little kids are so cute and they are so fun to watch!

For this layout I decided to do a digital layout with the Project Life iPhone app. I love that I can easily add or move pics in whatever layout format I want! After I picked what photos I wanted for my layout I added the PL cards from the soccer edition. I also love that for only a little over a dollar I could choose this theme. I don't have many soccer themed embellishments in my paper stash, so now that I have these cards I can print them out at home or with my photos to use in my pocket pages!

After I finished adding all my pics, cards and journaling to my page I exported it as a 12x12 page and saved it to my camera roll.  Then, I was able to open it up in Rhonna Designs (love this app!) and add some text and digital graphics to my page!

Project Life Birthday Layout!

My darling big girl turned 27 in March and I wanted to include all the pics from her birthday dinner here in my PL album, but since I had quite a few I decided to collage them into smaller pics within the Project Life iPhone app.

For my first page I had a few pics of my youngest swinging at the park that I wanted to include with my week, so I kept them on the left hand side of the page. Then on the right side I added my title, a PL card from the iPhone app, some birthday pics and a journaling card I made with a Pretty Cute Stamps set Any Better Than This.  I love the cupcake pic on the bottom right of this page! The cupcake is in focus and everything behind it is a bit blurry - I really need to figure out how to do this more!

For my second page I used some Heidi Swapp journaling cards and stickers along with some fun paper diecuts from Maggie Holmes. I cut my collaged pics apart and layered them onto the cards. I also added a couple stamps from Pretty Cute Stamps, and two 3x4 journaling cards from PL.

Week 14 Project Life!

I am just so impressed with how my Project Life album has been coming along! I seem to have found a process that works for me to get my photos from my phone to the printer and into my pages so woo hoo! I love that I'll be able to look back on 2015 and see how many little things I added to my album along with meaningful journaling and pretty pages all wrapped together ;)

For Week 14 I used some PL journaling cards printed from the PL app - love adding my journaling this way while I'm sorting through my pics - as well as some Heidi Swapp ephemera, some digital text and images from Rhonna Designs and some word stamps.

I created a journaling card on the bottom right of this page showcasing the products in my photo. On the top right I took a picture of my daughter's painting and then added some digital text over it to create a journaling card.

The journaling card on the top left didn't quite match so I covered part of the words with my photo and added some ephemera so it said 'Today Was Friday'.

I wanted to keep this page fairly simply and focus on the girls decorating their Easter eggs so I used patterned paper in the background pockets and kept the colours to pinks and greens.

Sunday was Easter, but since I have extra pics I'm going to make some traditional layouts along with my pocket pages for that day. Don't worry, I'll be back to share those pics!

Project Life Weeks 12 & 13!

Wow, can't believe it's the May Long Weekend already (here in Canada)! The school year has flown and we are in the home stretch. It is true that as you get older the time seems to fly so quickly. I think that's one reason I'm really enjoying PL this year - I can focus on the little details each week that I would otherwise forget.

I used the Project Life app to print a lot of the journalling cards using the 'Playful Edition' set. On the bottom left I've layered one of these cute animal cards over a CTMH Picture My Life card and added some handwritten journalling on the side. I love the layered look of the PML cards!

I used another CTMH Picture My Life card in the pocket in the top left of this page, layering on some Maggie Holmes die cuts. Some text from the Rhonna Designs app adds a little playfulness to my photos as well. The thin CTMH washi tape on the bottom left card is so awesome!

 I used more of the 'Playful Edition' cards for Week 13 and the Rhonna Designs app for the combo card/picture of the March Tim Holtz Tag I created. I like being able to collage the two 3x4 pics in the Project Life app and have the option of cutting them to put into my smaller pockets or leaving them as a 4x6.

I used a whole page for my St. Paddy's themed pics - I had a vintage looking photo that I cut to fit into my pocket, layering it on a green piece of patterned paper from the Forever Young BoBunny collection. The green heart paper in the bottom left pocket is from the same collection - one of those paper packs that you know you should probably get two of!

I used some older patterned paper from my stash in the top pockets of this layout and tried to separate the two different events that were happening on this page - Our dino visit at the mall on the top half and a family dinner on the bottom half - by keeping my patterns and colours separate. This gorgeous journalling card on the bottom right is from the 'Laughing Lola' Picture My Life CTMH set - I think this is one of my fav sets!

Pocket Pages and a Card with Picture My Life Skylark!

I just discovered Picture My Life Scrapbooking cards through Close To My Heart, and I'm so excited!! My lovely friend, Sheri Ballantyne sent me some amazing 4x6 and 3x4 pocket page cards recently and I couldn't wait to use them. They really are gorgeous! My only dilemma was deciding which side of the card to use, lol!

I put together this pocket page from our family hike at a nearby Provincial Park and the Skylark cards matched my theme perfectly! I used some We R Memory Keepers page protectors and added my pics and journalling cards. I layered on some Simple Stories mini cards, some circles punched with a 1" circle punch and used some retired CTMH papers and stamps. 

I just love the look of these cards - the layered look adds so much interest to the page!

Here's a close up of some of the cards - I used a 4x6 one on the top, layering a bingo card and circle, and a 3x4 one below it that I stamped with a You Are My Sunshine CTMH stamp in Vintage Photo Distress Ink and layered it on top of some patterned paper.

Isn't the sentiment on this card wonderful?!

And, I just couldn't stop myself!! so I made a quick card using this Friend journalling card from the Skylark collection!!

I usually spend hours on a card and this literally took me 10 minutes! What a great idea for another way to use these amazing cards ;)

Week 8 & 9 Project Life Layouts!

Well, Week 8 was a slow week and Week 9 was busier with a few more pics! I need to remember to be a little more creative on weeks that we don't have a lot of extra things going on and use these weeks to maybe add a list or pictures that the kids drew, etc. I think I need to print off a list of 'extras' so I can easily pull from these when I feel like I need some 'fresh' ideas ;)

I printed off cards from the 'Dazzle' mini kit in the PL iPhone app when I printed my pics for Week 8, as well as using some patterned paper I had in my stash. I love the bright floral designs on these cards! I really like being able to collage the pictures before printing them. I used the Rhonna Designs app to add digi text and images to my pics after collaging them in PL.

I also used some stickers - I recently picked up a sheet of Maggie Holmes stickers, which I love!! and I used stamps from Pretty Cute Stamps! The 'I <3 this!' stamp is embossed with black embossing powder right on top of my photo. I wasn't sure if it would work, but it did perfectly!

The journalling card on the top left of the second page of week 8 is made with a digital PL card and the Rhonna Designs app to add the middle part. I love how it turned out!

Here's how the 2 page spread looks in the album:

For Week 9 I used a lot of cards printed from the Peace, Love and Sunshine Value Kit in the PL app - I love the bright colours in this kit! I also used papers from the Echo Park Capture Life 12x12 scrapbooking kit! This has to be one of my favourite paper packs; and again I used some of the Maggie Holmes stickers.

On the second page I featured my hubby's 45th birthday!! woo hoo! and I grouped a few special pics and some journalling into the top half of the page - adding some digital text from the Rhonna Designs app on top of some of the pics.

On the bottom half I grouped some random pics of the girls - I love the two of them snuggling up while watching the spiders on TV!

I grouped my food pics together in the first 2 columns of this page and added an arrow (from Pretty Cute Stamps!) under my 'scrapbook goodie' pic, which points to the journalling below it.

This whole page was dedicated to our weekend outing to the Home & Garden Show with my oldest daughter and son-in-law. I again used papers and stickers from the Capture Life collection, a journalling card from PL and stamps from Pretty Cute Stamps.
