Good morning krafty friends! It's SEPTEMBER and that means it's time for a brand new SKRAPPY CHALLENGE with Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps! The theme of course is ANYTHING BUT A CARD! For this challenge you can make anything that strikes your fancy....except a card! So design a new scrapbook page, bookmark, tag, altered item, planner page, art journal, ATC cards...whatever you like! Just make sure to include some Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps products and make sure it's a new creation! As soon as we have at least five people playing along, we'll be giving away a $10 gift voucher to the krafty shop as the monthly prize! For my project today I made a handmade Thankful journal with a 6x6 sheet of patterned paper from the September SCT Sampler Pack. I used the We R Memory Keepers Book Binding Tool and added in copy paper and started decorating! This cute belly band on the front of the book keeps the book closed when I'm not using it and I had so much fun decorating it!
I created a little pocket inside the front cover with some paper and washi tape, glued around the edges and bottom - perfect to tuck those sweet tags into! I love the x's on the Pattern Parade Stencil and added more leaves and another stamp from the uplifting Happy Thoughts Stamp.
I added washi and various diecuts from the SCT Sampler along with the fabulous You've Got This stamp from the Happy Thoughts Set again, and this time stencilling the little dots.
I love the Pumpkin Kisses Harvest Wishes sentiment from the Pumpkin Kisses Stamp Set and coloured in the pumpkins with coloured pencils from the Happy Fall Y'all Stamp Set. See how much fun this mixing and matching is?!! This time I stencilled on the dashed lines with Bubbly Blue Ink.
I cut a smaller piece of patterned paper to fit in my book before I stitched it to add another fun element. I used some more washi and ephemera and stamped this sweet paper airplane from the Happy Thoughts Set.
I decorated one more page today and added the Count Your Blessings sentiment from It's Turkey Day. I'm going to love filling in this journal, and I think even though life is hard, remembering all the things we are thankful for make a difference in how we see the world. 💗
I can't wait to see what you come up with for this challenge!! You have until Monday, November 2nd to enter and you can submit as many new creations as you like on the Kraftin' Kimmie Blog for more chances to WIN! Today I'm using the awesome Wrap Journal die to create a Halloween Junk Journal, and I'm loving how this turned out!! I've included lots of photos so you can see all the details, but be sure to scroll down to see the video link where you can get a complete walk through and the blog hop line up below! I've also included a list of the supplies below as well.
I had a lot of fun layering paints, stencils, powders and stamps to create a spooky background. The Seth Apter paints were wonderful to work with and mixed beautifully to create even more colours than the four I worked with in the Autumn Set.
The Hammered Metal embossing powder created such a cool effect inside the EC skull stamp!
I added lots of fun elements along the spine of the journal.
Here's a look at the book opened up. I plan to fill this junk journal with lots of spooky Halloween ephemera!
I created a little tag pocket on the left and decided to tuck the right flap under the cover, but you can also choose to layer it over the top. The Magical Mysteries Dragon's Egg powder added a beautiful purple - complimenting Seth Apter's paints!
I created four 'signatures' which are the little booklets that fit into the Wrap Journal. I cut a cover from Tim Holtz cardstock and then three more pieces of paper from a 7gypsies Halloween collection sized at 6 1/2 x 5", which I folded in the center.
The Canvas Corp Halloween Tags on Kraft cut apart sheet was perfect to cut elements from to add to the notebooks and inside the journal.
I punched small holes with my Crop-o-dile to match up with the diecut holes in the journal and threaded a piece of hemp twine through the center of each signature and then the journal spine.
Some Ground Espresso Distress Oxide Ink added a shadow around the edges of my pages and I rounded the corners with the We R Memory Keepers corner punch at 1/2".
I used some more Tim Holtz cardstock to cover the inside base of the Wrap Journal, tearing a bit off the edges and adding more of Seth Apter's paint.
A few Tim Holtz' paper dolls and chit chat stickers are tucked in various places throughout the journal.
The spooky little outhouse was fun to add to the back of the journal along with a sticker from my Halloween stash.
To close the Wrap Journal I glued on two metal embellishments and added some ribbon coloured with Seth's paints. I really love the Autumn colours in this set!
I hope you enjoyed having a look at this journal - I really loved creating it!
Be sure to check out the process video where I show you how I create the cover of this journal and then do a walk through of all the fun elements I included!

Hello! I'm so excited to share my first junk journal! I have wanted to make one for a while, and I'm really glad I finally did it. The Canvas Corp Brands Architextures books are just the perfect thing to start with, and since I had my niece's birthday coming up - and one of the Vintage Pink books in my stash - I thought this would be the perfect thing to create for her! Here's a look at some of the pages I ended up with.
The beautiful background papers on the pages included with the book made it easy to create a great layout! Be sure to check out the video below to see all the pages closeup.
Hello! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! The time flies so quickly... We did a bit of sledding with the girls on the Saturday since it was finally warm enough to venture outside as long as we were bundled up! My husband celebrated his birthday and I tried out a Duncan Hines Carrot Cake, which was surprisingly awesome! Sometimes I'm just too tired to bake a cake, so I opted to go the cake mix route, and we all loved it. We ventured across town to the Farmers Market on Sunday where I had my favourite Chicken Tortilla Soup and we did a little shopping and picked up some mini Simon Says Pies to take home. The dessert pies are about a 4" pie shell filled with many different types of yummy fillings!!
The girls tried out a couple new sleds we recently picked up!
And here's the layout I shared over on the SpiegelMom Scraps Instagram Feed last week. In September we got our family photos taken and they are beautiful with the pretty Fall colours in the background. I'm planning a few different layouts to go with the Fall theme, but for this page I really wanted to use the photo with these lovely Paige Evans collections so I changed it to black & white. I really love the look of it, and I think I need to scrap some more B&W photos! Be sure to check out the IG post HERE to see closeups, details, and see the layout by Brianna Lepper that I scraplifted to create this page!

There are just a couple more days to leave a comment on the blog post to be entered to win - the draw is March 1st.
