Two Fall Cards!

A couple weeks ago I made some Fall cards for a little challenge at The Clique Facebook page for World Cardmaking Day, so I thought I should share them here while Fall is still in the air!

The first card was a challenge to use vellum and a diecut. I layered a handcut vellum banner over a woodgrain paper background and tucked some diecut leaves behind it.

Then, I used the 'thankful' and pumpkin cut files from Creative Scrapbooker Magazine - it's free and  you can download it here along with other free files!

I used some Fancy Free patterned paper behind my pumpkin and added some sequins and a couple drops of yellow Izink. Some faux stitching using a red pen on the vellum finished it off.

For my second card the challenge was to fussy cut an image, and I watercoloured a cute little pumpkin girl stamp sitting on a tree stump, both older stamps from C.C. Designs. I masked off the girl to make her look like she was sitting directly on top of the stump and then used Distress and Tombow markers to watercolour the image before fussy cutting her out.

I layered her over the free string art cut file from The Clique and backed the cut with BoBunny papers from the Believe collection. I love the look of different papers behind a diecut!!

Inside, I used a sentiment and pumpkin image from the Pretty Cute Stamps Thanksgiving Eats stamp set.

I added some pretty sequins and a button from the 28 Lilac Lane collection, and used a cute little ribbon across the top of my card. I gave this to my niece at Thanksgiving, which in Canada was a couple weeks ago, and she loved it!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderful, crafty week!

Pretty Cute Stamps September New Release Blog Hop!

Thanks so much for joining us for the September 2016 Digital Stamp Release Blog Hop, where we are all sharing projects featuring the new digital stamps this month that are now available in the Pretty Cute Stamps Store.

If you came from Kel's blog - Scraps & PhotoGRAFFS, you are in the right place. If you just stumbled across this post and would like to start from the beginning, please visit the Pretty Cute Stamps Blog

For my project for the hop, I've used the Book Nerd digital stamp set to create this layout about how much my daughter loves reading. She can get lost in a book so quickly, and it makes me remember how much I loved reading as a kid - and still do!  I had so much fun using the image and sentiments included in this set on my page, and I love how the papers from the Fancy Free collection just seemed to match the photos and image I had already coloured! Talk about meant to be ;)

I printed this sentiment from the Book Nerd digital stamp set directly onto my piece of pink patterned paper before layering on the digital book image, which I printed on white cardstock and coloured with Prismacolor Markers. I love being able to size the digi stamps however I want to fit the project I'm working on!

Another awesome thing about these digital sets is that they come with the PNG files as well as JPEG files! This means I was easily able to upload the PNG version of the Book Nerd sentiment into Cricut Design Space and use it as a cut file with my Cricut Explore. I added MY using some Pink Paislee Thickers, and printed my journaling onto copy paper before cutting it and gluing it onto my page. I usually just handwrite my journaling, but I was quite happy with how this turned out!

I printed some of the other awesome sentiments included in the Book Nerd set on white cardstock and then used Distress Ink to add a coordinating colour to match my page. I used the 123 WR Memory Keepers punch board to punch the edges to resemble a tab and then layered them on another piece of patterned paper. The sequins from Spiegelmom Scraps were perfect to add as embellishments to my page!

I've really been loving using my sewing machine on layouts, and after I put down the pretty papers on the left I stitched around them. I cut this scripty sentiment into a banner and layered it over my photo - so perfect!

Pretty Cute Stamps August New Release Blog Hop!

Thanks so much for joining us for the August 2016 Digital Stamp Release Blog Hop, where we are all sharing projects featuring the new digital stamps this month that are now available in the Pretty Cute Stamps Store!

If you came from Larissa's Blog - Muffins and Lace, you are in the right place. If you just stumbled across this post and would like to start from the beginning, please visit the Pretty Cute Stamps Blog

For my project for the hop, I've used the Little Sweetie stamp set to create a cover for my Dylusions Art Journal! I've wanted to decorate the cover for my art journal for a very long time, but just couldn't decide on what I wanted. When I saw this adorable cupcake girl image, I knew it was perfect!

I first layered some pretty papers from the Pink Paislee Fancy Free collection and Mod Podged them onto my journal. Then I gessoed the remaining spots on the background, which added a white painted layer. After printing my Little Sweetie out onto white cardstock, I printed her again onto the patterned paper I wanted for her hair and dress. I cut out the 'sweet' sentiment and added it to a Fancy Free circle and tore around the printed Cherry On Top sentiment. How cute is this sentiment?!!

I've been having so much fun taking the Online Card Class Creative Chemistry 103 and learning some new techniques using my Distress Crayons, so I definitely wanted to incorporate them on my Art Journal! I used several different stencils to apply texture paste to my background. After the paste dried I added a layer of Collage Medium by Tim Holtz and when that dried the inky fun started!

I lightly rubbed the Distress Crayons onto my textured background and smudged it around with my finger. I love the way it blends with the other colours and highlights the stenciled areas!

I added Stickles to the cherry and Little Sweetie's lips, earrings and jewelry - because a girl's gotta have bling!

I used Prismacolor and Hobby Colour Markers, which are alcohol based, to colour in all the areas that I didn't paper piece, and then used the markers to highlight my paper piecing.

Here's a look at this super sweet stamp!

Grandma Mar Layout using Fancy Free and Cut Files!

I love this sweet photo of my daughter snuggled up with her grandma. We don't get to see her too often, so the time spent with Grandma Mar is precious.

I used the April sketch from the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine along with this Shattered Glass Overlay FREE cut file from the Bits and Pieces Lab blog as the base for my layout. Of course the wonderful Fancy Free papers by Pink Paislee were perfect behind my photo and the cut file. I love how the papers match my photo!

The hearts from the ephemera package matched the papers I used, so I placed them inside the cut file openings after using foam dots to pop up my photo to add a little dimension.

I used my Cricut Explore to also cut the title before adding a graduated layer of Distress Inks in Twisted Citron and Lucky Clover.

It was easy to fussy cut some of the flowers and circles from the paper pad and layer them on the bottom corner of my page before adding a clear embellishment.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope your week is filled with lots of happiness :)

This Is Everything and Born To Ride Layouts using Fancy Free!

I am having way too much fun using the Fancy Free papers designed by Paige Evans for Pink Paislee! Here are two more layouts I've put together in the last couple days with photos from a camping trip I had printed as 5x7's a while ago. My daughter, Amie was 4 here - and now she's 9 - I can't believe how time flies. My youngest, Erica is now 4 and it's interesting to see how they are similar and different. This is one of my favourite reasons for scrapbooking - reminiscing about older photos and the fond memories they bring back!

For the first one I used this amazing butterfly cut file from The Cut Shoppe - you can find it FREE here on their blog post. They really do have amazing cut files! I backed it with paper from the Fancy Free collection - I love how the multicolour paper looks behind this cut file!

Here's a close up of this butterfly - so fun! I cut it large, but I think I'll do a few more smaller sized ones for cards. I used pop dots to add some dimension.

The title is a cut file by Crafty Jen Schow - included with the Ready, Sketch, Go class. I used Prismacolor and Hobby Color Markers to colour my title and add a bit of shading.

Some Distress Ink coloured my wooden flower embellishment and I added a round puffy sticker dot to the center. I added some hand stitching using embroidery floss around my page by first piercing the paper and then stitching with a large needle and the floss.

The second layout was inspired by the May Sketch (below) over at the Scraproom Blog and the Die Cuttin' Divas challenge this week to use a bike. Everytime I look through the Fancy Free paper pad I see another paper I just have to use!

I used layers of paper strips and washi with stickers and some circles cut from the paper pad to create a layer of embellishments. Some more of that pretty embroidery floss is tied through my tag.

This cute bike is cut from the Cricut Spring Fling cartridge. I used papers from my 6x6 Maggie Holmes Crate Paper pad to cut it and coloured in parts with Distress Markers. A cluster of embellishments, washi and papers finish off my tag that I tucked in between the photos.

I wrote my journaling on the background strip and added a title 'Born To Ride' which I cut from a font in Cricut Design Space.

Thanks so much for joining me today! I hope you get some crafty time for yourself this weekend. It's a long weekend for us, but supposed to rain, so I will probably have to do a bit more scrapbooking ;)!

Darling Layout using Fancy Free!

I am just so excited to have been able to get the Fancy Free papers and a couple items from Paige Evan's new collection with Pink Paislee! Being in Canada, it hasn't been the easiest to be able to get. These papers are absolutely beautiful - and I love the pretty ephemera and stickers! I put this layout together using a sketch from The Scraproom Blog - I just came across this blog today and since I was feeling so inspired by the lovely Fancy Free papers I decided make this layout using a photo of my daughter when she 3 and join the 'May Be Our Guest Sketch Challenge'!

The background paper is a graduated blue paper with painted brushstrokes from the collection - so pretty! I just followed the sketch and layered on the papers and photo. I used my paper piercing tool to make holes in my paper and added some cross-stitch and zigzag stitches with embroidery thread. A few puffy stickers (love!) added around the page adds interest and fun.

I coloured the 'darling' wood piece with some Distress Ink and layered it over my tags and papers. This puffy flower sticker is sooo cute!

So excited to create much more with these fun supplies!
