Wild Whisper Designs - Invermere Adventure Layout!

 Hello friends! I'm popping in today with a quick look at a layout I'm sharing over at the Wild Whisper Designs Blog. These photos were from a few years ago on a trip to Invermere, BC, and I decided to use the pretty outdoorsy papers from the Wild Whisper Adventure Collection to document them. I followed the September Sketch from the SCT-365 2020 Online Layout Class - this t-design is one of my favourites for scrapbooking with! I framed up the main photo with some of the pretty triangle designed paper to create a focal image and added lots of fun ephemera, sequins and stickers.

Under The Sea Summer Layout!

Hello! We went camping a couple weeks ago and even though the water was a bit chilly, the girls wanted to get in with their floaties. I think they may have spent more time laying on the beach than getting in the water though! I'm over on the Southern Ridge Trading Company Blog today with this layout using photos from our trip, and I love how the Southern Ridge Mermaid Mix Chipboard Set and Fish Net Stencil fit right in with this theme! My daughter, Amie, who is 12, helped me create this layout. I love how crafty she is!

Lasting Memories - Local Harvest Layout!

Hello! I hope you're all having a wonderful weekend! We've been busy with family activities and I've even had a little crafty time 😉 I am super excited to share that I'm a Guest Designer this month over on the Lasting Memories Scrapbook Challenge Blog - a wonderful blog dedicated to scrapbooking! Each week there is a new challenge for the monthly theme - this month the theme is Fall Celebrations - and this week our challenge is to create a layout about your harvest or your favorite plants or flowers. You have all month to play along with each challenge, so what are you waiting for?!!

I used a scrapbook sketch from the PageMaps September Sketches, which you can see below. I love starting with a sketch! I'm scrapping photos from a local farmer's market in Cochrane, Alberta. If you're in the area it's well worth stopping by to see the amazing vendors and produce available!

I used some paper from a watercolour fall Recollections paper pad from Michaels along with the newest Wild Whisper Farmhouse collection including pretty papers and diecut ephemera.

I layered my photos in a grid pattern over a stenciled pattern using Vicki Boutin stencils and Distress Oxide Inks. And, of course, I had to use some pretty sequins from SpiegelMom Scraps! (ps you can use the code KARLA15 to save 15% off your purchases in the SMS Shop)

SpiegelMom Scraps - Baby It's Not Too Cold Outside!

Hi friends! I'm over at the SpiegelMom Scraps blog today sharing a layout using the new SMS FREE cutfiles, the new November sequin mixes and a fun sketch! I love these winter pics of my daughter a few years ago playing in the backyard, and I thought these fun Simple Stories papers were perfect, even though they weren't winter themed!

I recently picked up the beautiful embossing powder Winter's Mistake from Emerald Creek Craft Supplies - and it is gorgeous!! It has flecks of glitter along with a puffy white powder - amazing, and perfect for winter. I've made a really short video showing you the details of how I add it to my diecuts up close. For this challenge I'm working with two adorable digi stamps from My Besties. The first one is the 4Besties Zen Art Dolls image, and I created a cute little card using this week's sketch from Mojo Monday. I coloured in this sweet little girl and her puppy with Prismacolor and Hobby Colour Markers, which are alcohol based and layered them on some patterned papers from a 6x6 paper pad.

I used some pretty sequins from SpiegelMom Scraps all around my card front and fussy cut out the flower images too.

I love how happy she looks, and the bright colours and layers make me happy too!

For my second project I used  Vintage Style Besties to create this pretty tag with a watercolour background using Distress Inks. I sponged on the inks and then spritzed them with Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Mist to blend the inks and give the tag a glittery shimmer.

I used my alcohol markers again to colour in this cutie and a white Dylusions Paint pen for highlights. The Hello Sunshine sentiment is taken from a Recollections watercolour resist paper pad, so a bit of Distress Inks again created a fun effect.

I made a loopy ribbon bow and added a button and some sequins from 28 Lilac Lane along with a couple wooden embellishments.

For my project I've created a scrapbook layout using a heart background cutout from the Close To My Heart Artistry Cricut cartridge. There are so many wonderful backgrounds on this cartridge, and you could size them to create cards or layouts! I've had these wonderful photos of my daughter, Amie, for a few years and I figured this was the perfect time to scrapbook them! After all, what says spring more than butterflies and fairies! I based my layout on the February 2016 Sketchy challenge at the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog. If you're ever looking for a starting point there are lots of great sketches and inspiration here!

I used my Distress Oxide Inks to sponge over my heart diecut in colours that matched the pretty BoBunny Butterfly Kisses paper. The cutouts in the diecut were lovely with images from the paper showing through. I added some CTMH stamps in different places and layered on some Tim Holtz chit chat stickers.

I love this gorgeous title from a Pink Paislee Take Me Away phrases foam sticker pack. I layered it over a Pink Paislee journaling card and added some SpiegelMom Scraps sequins and some CTMH bling.

I made a second page with the adorable photos I had from this photo shoot, so I thought I'd share this with you as well! I used a background page from the BoBunny Butterfly Kisses again and layered on lots of fun elements.

I love fussy cutting out images that are on papers and adding them to my layouts. These pretty Pink Paislee branch stickers looked awesome sticking out of the pretty mason jar. And, of course, I love adding SpiegelMom Scraps sequins! How sweet are these yellow flower sequins?!!

This lovely chipboard sticker is from the BoBunny Believe collection - I love the way it coordinates!

I added a Pink Paislee Take Me Away foam sticker title 'Lovely' and used some Stickles to add a bit of bling. Some Distress Oxide Inks add colour to a chipboard tag and a pretty purple ribbon coordinates with the inks and sequins.

Rejoice Easter Card!

Hey crafty friends! I hope you're having a lovely week so far! I've been busy making Easter cards this week. Really, I think I have all this time to get my cards done and then bam! it's the last minute and I'm realizing I want to give out a whole bunch more cards... Last night I stayed up until midnight to get 8 cards done for teachers and friends! I'm not complaining though, I love making cards and they turned out cute. I'll be sharing those really soon with you. But today I have a card I made for my mother-in-law with the new Easter Blessings digital stamp set in the Pretty Cute Stamps store. 

I coloured in the lovely stained glass window and cross with my Prismacolor and Hobby Colour Markers, which are alcohol based, and then added some Glossy Accents to the cross to add some dimension. I think it would also look neat if you added the Glossy Accents to the windows instead!

I fussy cut around the Rejoice sentiment included in the set and added it to my layers of CTMH paper. I usually print out a whole sheet of all the images and sentiments at a time so I can colour and cut them out as needed.

Inside and on the envelope I added two more sentiments from the set, and stamped the Happy Easter from a CTMH stamp set in my stash.

I used some lovely coordinating colours of sequins from SpiegelMom Scraps and attached them using Glossy Accents. I especially love these little tiny flowers!!

This challenge I'm using a large background diecut from the CTMH Artistry cartridge along with a diecut heart from the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge as a base for a Father's Day layout. Over the weekend I went to a one day scrapbooking crop, which was so much fun! I don't get away too much without my girlies and even though I love spending time with them - I really appreciate getting some time to myself! And, my awesome hubby appreciates ME even more when I get home ;)

I started off using the February 2017 sketch from the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine Sketchy Gallery and using my triangular diecut in place of one of the circles in the sketch (shown at the bottom of post). I pulled out some papers, stickers and embellishments from the Shimelle Starshine collection. My oldest daughter has been away travelling for almost a year! and this was the last Father's Day we were all together! I'm hoping she'll be back in time for this Father's Day... <3

I used my new DOX Inks along with some Tattered Angels Ivory Baseboard and Tutti Frutti Glimmer Mist sprays to colour the diecut.

I added some DOX Ink to the top of my black wooden Happy diecut and stamped 'Father's Day' directly onto my photo. The 'love' paper clip is a coordinating Starshine embellishment.

I decided to stamp some CTMH stamps on my heart diecut before popping up with foam dots, and I clustered some fussy cut elements, wood embellishments and cork confetti stars (from SpiegelMom Scraps) along with some Simple Stories enamel dots. I always forget about these pretty dots, but a crop is a good time to grab a few of those things you've been meaning to use, but haven't got around to. When you have limited supplies with you it's easier to be creative with what you do have!

The 'this beautiful life' sticker is a clear sticker, and I wanted to have a solid base on it, so I layered it on ivory cardstock and cut around the edge.

For my second page with photos from this Father's Day I used the March 2017 Creative Scrapbooker Magazine sketch and used more of the Shimelle Starshine collection so it coordinated with the first page.

I used the fun letter stickers in the collection and added more wood and cork embellishments, a fussy cut camera and enamel dots in coordinating colours.

At the crop some people had items from their own stash for sale, and I picked up a CTMH stamp set with the fun DAD sentiments and images that I used on my pages for $2. Yay!

I added the Awesome sticker on some ivory cardstock and popped it up with foam dots beside the DAD stamped sentiment. It matches the 'Awesome Dad' on the cute plaque Amie made for her dad in the photo!
