Vintage Father's Day Frame!

Hello! I sure hope you've all had a fabulous weekend! We had warm weather and sunshine here, and even a little crafting - all in all a wonderful and relaxing couple days. Today, I'm over on the Southern Ridge Trading Company Blog to share a Father's Day project I whipped up for my hubby. His grandpa was such an amazing man, and we recently came across this cool photo of him many years ago. He used to be a mechanic, so when I saw the Southern Ridge Trading Company Vintage Truck and Nuts and Bolts Chipboard along with the Medium size Multi Gear Stencil in the shop I knew just what I wanted to make. I have the full tutorial over on the SRTC Blog. I just love how it turned out, and I know hubby is going to love it too.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Be sure to head over to the Southern Ridge Trading Company Blog to get a full list of supplies, closeups and details. And, of course, have an awesome week!

Alcohol Inks with Altered Frame!

Hello friends! Can you believe it's April already..?!! Even though I always associate spring with rain and flowers, here in Alberta we don't get a lot of rain - and June is actually the rainiest month. However, this month the new challenge on the Emerald Creek Craft Supplies blog is Singing In The Rain, and I was totally inspired to create something that was rainy, but said Springtime! It was my sister's birthday a couple weeks ago and I wanted to make her a little something personal to go along with her gift card. She loved it!

Be sure to head over to the Emerald Creek Craft Supplies blog to see closeups on my project and get all the details on this month's challenge - with a chance to win - woo hoo!! Have an awesome week friends!

Sydney's Superhero Frame!

Hi there!! I feel like last week just flew by, and I didn't get to share as many projects with you as I would have liked to... but I have been working on some fun new projects that I'll be sharing with you over the next couple weeks.

I can't wait to tell you about this frame that I made for my niece Sydney at Christmas! You may remember some great photos and layouts I shared from last spring when I threw a Superhero birthday for her. You can check out some pocket pages here as well as some pics from her party here. Well, since she loves Superheroes, I decided to give her a framed photo from that day - using this 'Super' cool scrapbook paper ;).

I started off painting a wooden frame from Michaels with red Dylusions paint on the back and around the front edges.

Then Erica helped me add Mod Podge to the front of the frame with a paintbrush. You can see we're watching crafty YouTube videos!

Then we added the scrapbook paper, cut to size, onto the wood frame. I had a left over diecut from her party in my stash and I fussy cut some of the paper and added it on top.

On the back, I covered the paper insert with part of the scrapbook paper and added a little note.

I just love how it turned out, and Sydney loved it too!

Some sequins from SpiegelMom Scraps added that last touch of bling.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope your week is shaping up to be fantastic. I'd love for you to check out my newest video using some fantastic Canvas Corp Brand products - a Street Art Valentine Process Video!!

Distress Crayon Watercolour in a Decorated Frame!

Happy New Year Friends!

I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and New Years! I took a little bloggy break to enjoy some family time and a few jammie days! I'm back today to share a gift I made for my sister. I love giving at least one homemade gift to her, and I was really pleased with how this turned out.

I started out by using a page from the Prima Watercolor Coloring Book. I knew this book was something I had to have as soon as I saw it last year! You can use whatever watercolouring medium you like on the pages, and for this page I chose to use my Distress Watercolor Crayons. Love them!!

Around the silver frame I added a couple clusters of embellishments - diecuts, paper ephemera, gold stars and sequins and pearls from a 28 Lilac Lane embellishment kit. I used Distress Inks to add some colour around the edge of this cute bird diecut. Inside the cute frame I added a mini card from the Pink Paislee Take Me Away 6x6 paper pad.

At the top I used feathers that I diecut with my Cricut and shaded with Distress Inks along with an arrow and more stars from a Project Life kit and popped up a layer to add dimension.

Well, my sister loved it - and sent me a photo of it on a gallery wall in her bedroom!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope you're staying warm and cozy this week - and getting some crafty time ;)
