Wild Whisper Strong & Free - Canada Day Decor!

Hello friends! I'm so super excited to share with you the newest Wild Whisper collection - Strong & Free! It is an amazing collection of patriotic papers just perfect for any Canada Day projects - but just wait!! Even if you're not Canadian - you've just gotta have these gorgeous papers!! They coordinate beautifully with all the other collections and the colours and designs would be perfect to go with any outdoor themed project. And the stamps.... to die for! Be sure to check out the full collection at the Wild Whisper shop. Here's my project that I'm sharing on the Wild Whisper blog today. I created three projects - a banner, a frame and a decorated flower vase- to decorate my mantle for Canada Day. They are so beautiful that I'm definitely going to be leaving them up for a lot longer though!

Here's the link to the process video showing you all the fun I had creating!

You can check out all the details and closeups on how I created the banner, framed art and decorated flower vase on the Wild Whisper Blog, and be sure to check out the new collection, Strong & Free in the Store!

St. Patrick's Day Subway Art!

I have one more crafty project to show you before St. Patrick's Day! Today, I'm sharing this framed subway art project I made using my Cricut Explore and the Word Collage cartridge. I changed the lettering to 'write' and then cut some of the words out in different patterned papers. The other words I used markers and paints to colour in. I love the way this turned out! I had a gold frame I wasn't using so I put some glitter tape on each end of the art before placing it in the frame and then added some pretty green toned flowers.

Because I wrote the lettering first I had no problem placing the diecut letters in the proper place.

Here's a look at my little St. Patrick's Day display! You can see the post where I showed this fun St. Paddy's diecut basket here.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoy a lucky St. Patrick's Day this week!

Baby Room on a Budget

The baby room is ready, counting down to less than 2 1/2 weeks now!  Since we had gotten rid of all of our baby stuff after Amie we started from scratch for baby Erica.  Of course we made some thrifty spending choices, and were fortunate enough to know some friends getting rid of baby stuff too!

Curtains from Walmart, recycled rocker and side table from other parts of the house, toys donated from big sis Amie, Martha Stewart shelf and pink fabric drawers from Rona.

3 drawer Ikea dresser from Kijiji, which we attached a change pad to, decals from Dollarama!, change pad cover from second hand children's shop.

Crib given to us by friends, mobile  bought from a friend who was done with it, bedding from Toys R Us as a shower gift :)

Bear from big sis Stephanie, wooden box from Michaels painted by Amie & mom.

Love this cute pic - it was a vintage picture from a CD/book I got from Chapters a while ago, but you can get lots of vintage images from Graphics Fairy too.  I printed it at Black's photo and popped it into a Dollarama frame!

This beautiful wall hanging was given as a shower gift! It it a growth chart on one side and on the other has spots to write in all kinds of 'firsts'.  A fabric pen was included with the gift. So thoughtful :)

Hope you enjoyed the tour of the new baby room.  Now it's just a waiting game!
