Mercy Tiaras 27 Day Challenge Layouts

I have two more layouts to share with you today for the 27 Day Challenge for February that Mercy Tiara is hosting. You can find out about all the details on this blog post and see the homemade kit I made to use in this challenge. I wanted to continue on with the baby album I'm working on for my youngest, Erica.

For the first page today I used a diecut background Pink Paislee paper layered over a piece of pink cardstock. I cut my photo into a circle, matting it with two more papers and inking the edges. I cut the 'Baby' title with my Cricut and layered it along with papers and chipboard stickers. I used a bit of red Distress ink on a Heidi Swapp heart stencil in the corners.

I used a black pen to trace my diecut word to make it stand out a little more.

Love these little October Afternoon papers! And the No. 3 sticker worked perfectly for this 3rd sweet baby!

For the second page I used a full sheet of the Pink Paislee paper for the background and journaled right on it.  I again used my Cricut to cut the title and layered my photos over some border papers and a strip cut from some of the lacy coordinating paper.

I added a bit of Distress Ink lightly around the edge of my title cut. The Maggie Holmes diecut ephemera have really been some of my favourite things to use!

I'm really liking these flair badges! The E for Erica was perfect!

Thanks so much for joining me today! Don't forget to check back tomorrow for the fun sneak peek coming your way using the February New Release stamps from Pretty Cute Stamps!

Waiting Scrapbook Layout!

I recently joined the Mercy Tiara's 27 Day Scrappy Challenge Facebook Group, where Tracy Banks, aka Mercy Tiara, posts a challenge each month and you have 27 days to participate. Even if you aren't participating in the challenge there is lots of inspiration and ideas. I've been watching her videos for quite some time - they are really great! Full of lots of tips and I just love her layouts and pocket pages. The challenge this month is to use an old collection kit, and you can find the video where she explains everything here.

I've been meaning to make up a few kits from older papers and supplies I have had for quite a while, and this was just the inspiration I needed. Of course, I love buying new goodies, but I also want to make sure I'm using what I have too!

For my 'old kit collection' I pulled out some old Pink Paislee papers from the Sweetness Collection which includes a sticker sheet and alpha stickers.

Then, I added in a really old CTMH collection because I liked the B sides and felt they would match well with the colours in the Pink Paislee collection.

And, lastly, I grabbed some October Afternoon ephemera, some Maggie Holmes diecuts and Glitz paper layers. I felt like the papers, stickers and diecuts I gathered together gave me enough to pull from and liked the way they coordinated together.

So.... Here's my first page using my kit! I wanted to keep working on my youngest daughter Erica's baby book so these are the photos I'm going to focus on using this month. I love this background paper and didn't want to cover it all up, so I just chose to add some layers and leave the pretty background edges showing.

I used a waterbrush and Distress Ink to create a brushed lettering title for my page. Then, I took a black pen and highlighted areas of the letters to make it stand out a little more.

I wrote my journaling right on the page. I realized I forgot to erase my pencil lines for this photo... oops!

Thanks so much for joining me today! I'll definitely be back with more pages I create with this kit, and I feel like I'll be pulling more kits together to use up a lot more of my stash!
