Happy Easter Cuties!

I hope everyone enjoyed a very lovely Easter! Our family is having Easter dinner today, so I thought I'd share these cute cards I made for my daughter's preschool teachers using the adorable Easter Cuties stamps from Pretty Cute Stamps!

I used some pretty spring papers as my background and layers and then stamped my images on white cardstock circles before colouring with alcohol based markers. I masked some of my images and fussy cut around the parts that extended outside the circle. I just hand drew in a line for the grass and added a bit of marker shading. The little paintbrush is from the School Planner stamp set, which was just the perfect size for these cuties! I always love finding new ways to combine elements of the stamp sets that I have. There are a few more small icons in these planner sets that would also be perfect accents!

Here I used the mix and match sentiments in the Easter Cuties set to decorate the insides and envelopes of my cards. My daughter was very excited to give these to her teachers!

I hope you are enjoying your Easter Monday! Be sure to check out all the fun inspiration at the Pretty Cute Stamps blog - along with our current challenge, Anything But A Card!

Pretty Cute Stamps Feature - Happy Spring!

It's funny how a holiday or special event seems so far away and then all of a sudden you realize you need a bunch of cards in just a few days! Well, I thought I'd get a cute Easter card done and mailed off just in time using the Easter Cuties stamp set from Pretty Cute Stamps and the diecut Easter Basket from Pretty Paper Pretty Ribbons!

I used some spring coloured papers on my background and for diecutting with my Cricut Explore, and then added some Stickles and a fuzzy ribbon to the basket.

I watercoloured the little Easter animals with Tombow and Distress markers and tucked the bunny and duck into the basket.

Inside, I used the sentiments from the Easter Cuties set and the lovely Easter eggs that are included.

Well, I'm off to mail my pretty card to a loved one! I hope you enjoy your week and get some Easter crafting in. Don't forget to check out all the blog posts on the Pretty Cute Stamps blog over the last week so you can see all the new releases from the March 2015 release!! They are on sale until April 2nd at the Pretty Cute Stamps store - so head on over and pick your fav's!!

Paper Dolls and Easter Critters!

I whipped up a couple projects recently to send off to two girls with swap group I'm in. If, like me, you are finding you're getting less and less 'happy mail' lately - a swap group could be just the thing to get involved in! There are lots of different groups on Facebook that you can sign up for and start swapping cards with other lovely ladies - and I'm sure some guys as well.

For my first card I used a Prima Paper Doll stamp by Julie Nutting and paper pieced her outfit after colouring her with Prismacolor Markers. Then I coloured in some adorable Easter critters from the Pretty Cute Stamps Easter Cuties stamp set with Prismacolor Markers and layered them beside this darling girl.

Inside, I used more of the Easter Cuties stamp set - the sweet little chick, Easter eggs and sentiment!

For my second project I made a tag for a swap partner who had send me scraps of papers in a 'scrap swap', using papers she had sent to me. I stamped this Prima Doll directly on a brownish patterned paper and coloured in her hair and skin with Prismacolor Markers again. Then, I paper pieced her dress, hairband and shoes and added some stamped butterflies and a sentiment.

On the back I added another sentiment  and stamps.

I hope you had a lovely weekend and are enjoying your week. I'm looking forward to some warmer temps later in the week, but in the meantime I'll use the cooler weather as an excuse to stay in and do a little more Easter creating!

Pretty Cute Stamps February Release Sneak Peek - Easter Cuties!

I'm so happy to share with you today the sneak peek of one of the new stamp sets for the Pretty Cute Stamps February 2015 release - Easter Cuties!

This is such an adorable set - and such a perfect one to have for all your Easter crafting needs! I can see using this on cards, scrapbooks, Project Life cards (I love using the sentiments from the Pretty Cute Stamps sets in my pocket pages!), and Easter treats for the classroom. Oh, and of course you know I'll be making lunch box notes for my girl with this awesome set!

For my project today I created a cute Easter card and two matching tags.

I used the round Distress Ink sponge and smooshed on several colours of Distress Inks in a circular motion to create my colourful background. Then I layered over my 'Easter Cuties' (perfectly named!) along with their eggs and baskets that I coloured with Prismacolour Markers. I added some Stickles for shimmer and stamped on a sentiment inside a speech bubble from the Let's Talk set.

Inside - I used a Kaleidoscope ink pad and the border from the Celebrate Today stamp set and the Happy Easter from Easter Cuties. I can't wait till you can see all the cute sentiments that come with this set in the release tomorrow!

For the background on the tags I swiped Distress Stains across a piece of watercolour paper and then sprayed it with Perfect Pearls mist to blend the colours and add shimmer. After drying I stencilled overtop with the Tim Holtz flower doily stencil and purple ink and then again with a circular stencil and white ink. I stamped a cute sentiment over each little Easter animal and used pop dots to raise the basket and a couple eggs.

I even stamped some seam binding ribbon with Making Memories ink before adding more Distress Stain and crinkling it up while I dried it. Just love this technique!

Thanks so much for joining me today!! Be sure to head over to the Pretty Cute Stamps blog to see all the other sneak peeks from yesterday and today - and there's an awesome free download for you when you get there (one day only though)! Make sure to mark your calendars, because tomorrow is the big February Release Blog Hop - where you'll get to see all the stamp sets and more amazing projects from each member of the Design Team, and of course you'll be able to pick up all your favourite sets at the Pretty Cute Stamps Store!
