Kitty Bee Designs - Cute As A Button Kitty!

Hi there! I'm back today to share a card with you using the super sweet Kitty Bee Designs Sewing Kit digital stamp that I'm featuring on the Kitty Bee Designs blog. I had so much fun making this card. Sewing always reminds me of my Nanny - who taught me to sew - and brings back many happy memories. So, of course I was so excited to create a cute card using this little sewing kitty!

I printed the image out on white cardstock, coloured it in with Prismacolor and Hobby Colour Markers, and used this awesome Cool Tag Four Die Set from Your Next Stamp to create a tag base. I love the stitching detail on this tag! I just had to grab a 'cute as a button' stamp from Pretty Cute Stamps as a sentiment on the front.

The bright colours in the BoBunny Believe 6x6 paper pad (one of my fav's) was perfect as a background for my card! I popped up the tag to give some dimension and added half pearls from 28 Lilac Lane and SpiegelMom Scraps sequins.

Inside I used a Thank You sentiment from Your Next Stamp and the Sew Much from Pretty Cute Stamps and layered a coordinating piece of patterned paper along the bottom. I just recently picked up some 110 lb white cardstock for cardbases - and can I tell you how much I love it!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I've had a lot going on this week - so if you haven't had a chance to check out all the fun things I've been sharing, be sure to check out all the posts this week so far! From Christmas to Canada Day - it's been a lot of crafty goodness ;)

DIY Embellishments - Use Your Stash!

Happy Friday! I'm popping in today to share a bunch of pretty tags and embellishments I created from bits and pieces from my stash! We all have those little bits of pretty papers and left over pieces of goodies - well I say, "Let's use them!" I sat down one day and grabbed a bunch of pretty things that I was just about to part with and decided to create some DIY embellishments.

I gathered some tags, diecut shapes, stamps and patterned papers and added some Distress Inks and gems to create these layered tags.

A few sequins, flowers and twine finished them off!

These would look great layered on a scrapbook page, card or tucked into some Happy Mail.

These labels worked great as a background to layer some diecuts and stamps on!

I love how these one layer tags turned out - using some mini CTMH stamps and inking around the edges.

Some basic coloured pencils shaded in the images and they were ready!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you'll try grabbing some of those pretty supplies you have in your stash that you might not otherwise use. If you need more inspiration, try looking on YouTube for DIY scrapbook embellishments - there is so much amazing inspiration! Wishing you a fantastic start to your weekend :)

DIY Scrapbook Tag Embellishments!

Hi Friends! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! It was nice enough out here that we got out and took the girls for a little bike ride to the park. They made birdhouses at the local Home Depot kid's craft event and my 9 year old went to a Petland birthday party where she held a tarantula... yikes! My favourite thing was making these cute DIY tags :) I've been watching lots of YouTube videos on making your own scrapbook embellishments lately and thought I'd give it a try.

I pulled out a sheet of BoBunny Sweet Life paper from a 6x6" paper pad and cut it into 6 tags, each measuring 2x3". I rounded the tops of the corners with my We R Memory Keepers corner punch and sponged Victorian Velvet Distress Ink on the edge. I used a circle punch to punch out a circle of coordinating paper and, after gluing it to the top of my tag, hole punched through both layers so that it looked like I had reinforced the tag hole. I have lots of little scraps of paper, especially longer border strips that I was able to cut into banners and layer on my tags.

My circle punches worked to punch little pieces of leftover papers from my 6x6" pads and, together with some fun rectangles cut from an older Simple Stories pad, as well as some Tim Holtz Chitchat stickers, I was able to create some pretty tags and use up supplies at the same time!

I tied some embroidery floss through my tag and added some homemade 'enamel dots' that I made with a sparkly silver gluestick and my hot glue gun. The Ranger craft sheet is excellent for making these on!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope this gives you some ideas to use your scrapbook supplies in a creative way :) Have an awesome crafty week!
