Lucky Green & Recent Wins!!

Tonight I whipped up a green card, in honour of the upcoming St. Patrick's Day celebration. However, this card could just as easily be a birthday or thank you card.

I cut the leaf, bird and hearts, which I turned into a clover, from the Cricut cartridge Wall Decor and More, and I layered them over patterned paper from CTMH and Coredinations cardstock. This was the first monochromatic colour scheme card I think I've done and I really like how it turned out! I rounded the corners with my new Corner Chomper, which I'm loving :). Of course I had to pull out my Distress Ink for the edge of the card and around the die cut edges. I added some foam tape to pop up the cuts and couldn't resist adding some Stickles. The sentiment stamp is from CTMH as well.

 

 

 

 

Oh, and I just had to share my recent wins!! I won the challenge at Scrapbookers Paradise blog (see my post here) and received a fantastic assortment of BoBunny Valentine embellishments! I was also the winner over at the Fantabulous Cricut blog (see my post here) for the Heart Challenge and won a $15 gift certificate from Really Reasonable Ribbon. I ordered some fun ribbons, hemp cord, bakers twine and rickrack. The order was very quick to arrive and everything is beautiful!! Happy Birthday!

Last month was my wonderful hubby's birthday and, of course, I pulled out the Tim Holtz products to make him a card.

I used a new ruler embossing folder, which I sponged with Vintage Photo Distress Ink to create a background. Then I stamped a Tim Holtz clock face stamp and used some die cut clock hands from Spellbinders. I added the ticket from CTMH and stamped Happy Birthday along the top and then tied a piece of bakers twine around the card front.

We had a wonderful day and then went out for supper; with a 1 year old this is no small feat! She actually did pretty good though and we had a great time!

Enjoy the Journey

Time and time again I come back to Tim Holtz's products.  For this week's travel challenge at the Playing in Paradise blog I used some stamps by Tim Holtz, Distress Stains and Distress Inks and love the vintage feel of this card.

 

 

I smooshed some stains onto my craft mat and spritzed with water, then rubbed a piece of watercolor paper through using a 'Wrinkle-free Distress technique'. You can find lots of tutorials on You Tube! I then stamped the old-time truck with Archival Ink and added the key, 'Enjoy the Journey', the file tab and the tickets, below.

 

I stamped these tickets on Kraft paper and then rubbed Distress Stains directly on top and then went over them with a sponge and Vintage Photo Distress Ink.  As a finishing touch I sprayed them with Frost sparkly spritz.

PPC 104 Guest Designer!

I'm so excited to have won the Playing in Paradise sketch challenge! You can see my winning project here. As the winner I get to be guest designer for challenge # 104- "Add a little sparkle!"

My project for this challenge is a scrapbook page of a summer BBQ. I started by spraying Kraft cardstock with mists over some stencils. I used Smooch Spritz in purple and Dylusion Sprays in blue, yellow and light green. I didn't plan it, but when I cut out the tire swing it fit perfectly inside the doily stencil! I then spayed on Tsukineko Shimmer Spray in gold all over to add shimmer.

I then placed on the tree border and banner from a Simple Stories 12x12 page and my pictures. After layering on the rest of the elements, including die cut letters from pink glitter paper, I brushed Rock Candy Stickles across the banner and then added dots of Stickles. I used Stickles on the tree border and the flower brad and placed pink gems in the tree. As my last sparkling touch I added some jewelled chipboard flowers in the bottom right corner.

Fantabulous Sweet Sunday Valentines

My baby has decided 5:00 am is the new time to get up... Ugg! So I decided to get some more Valentine cards done while I'm up. Luckily she'll play or sit on my lap, for a short time anyway!

I used some heart paper I got in a kit from Costco quite a long time ago. I really wanted to buy a small Valentine paper pack, but I'm really trying to be conscious of using what I have.

I used Hampton Arts stamps on Kraft cardstock that I cut with the Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge. If I could only have one cartridge this would be it! I cut the scalloped circle, the banner, and the heart with this cart. I used Distress Ink on the edges, Distress stain on the heart and then spritzed with gold mist.

Happy Valentines!

I love Valentines Day! I love the red and pink colour scheme, I love the hearts and, of course I love the chocolate!

I only find that it seems to come so quick that I'm never prepared. I'm so excited that I actually made a few pretty Valentines this year and I'm actually getting them in the mail on time :)

I thought I'd use the sketch from Playing in Paradise, which I turned on its side. I used a paper pack I won a couple years ago from Stampin' Up and I stamped a Penny Black stamp on watercolour paper and used Tombow markers. I also used a CTMH tic tac toe stamp set for the X's and O's in the top right corner.

 

I also thought I'd share this adorable Vintage Valentine book I saw at Chapters! So cute!!

Bathtime

Looking back at Erica's 5 month pics bring back so many memories! She was so chubby! I just love all those rolls!

I wanted to do a simple page and used the CTMH Wings paper pack again. I used the Gypsy to weld the title letters and cut them with the Cricut. I used the Mini Monster cartridge to cut the bubbles from watercolour paper, which I then used some Tombow markers on to add detail.
