I decided to combine this awesome Cricut challenge with my post over at the Pretty Cute Stamps blog this week, since that's who is sponsoring! PCS has such an amazing assortment of stamps - they are really worth checking out. One of my favourite things about Lisa's stamps are the fabulous sentiments included with each set!

For my project I used my Explore to cut out almost my entire layout! The banners are from the When I Was A Kid cartridge, Snowflakes are from Teresa Collins December 25, and the squares and rectangles are from the Basic Shapes. I was inspired to create this layout from a Scrapbook and Cards Today Magazine layout on Pinterest.  I decided to design the layout in Design Space, and then when I was ready to make it, it was really quick!  If you want to use this layout yourself, here's the link to my file in Design Space .

My background paper is from the Simple Stories Snow Fun paper pack, the woodgrain paper is from Carta Bella and the banners are cut from BoBunny Sleigh Ride paper.

I used the following fonts and changed them to the Write feature and then coloured them in with Prismacolor Markers using an Ombre effect on the 'chilly' and 'cold' words by blending the markers:

I used the adorable snowman from the Snowmies Stamp set by PCS and used the sentiments included in this set on my layout as well as directly on my photos!

The Snowman from the stamp set was stamped on watercolour paper and I used Distress and Tombow Markers to colour him in. I love the way adding a stamp lets you colour coordinate your image to match your photos!

Bimini Moose Challenge - Anything Goes!

Happy Tuesday! I'm back today to bring you another Scrapbooking challenge over at BIMINI MOOSE!

Our challenge this time is...

Scrapbooking - ANYTHING GOES

For my project this challenge I'm posting Week #3 of my Project Life 2015 album. I find that I'm better working in batches - so I'll print off a couple weeks of pics at a time and then get them done at the same time rather than scheduling printing and designing pages for certain days of the week.  I do take most of my pictures with my iPhone, and I love the feature where I can scroll back and tell exactly which day of the week I took each picture! This makes it so easy when ordering a week at a time. And, hey, whatever makes things easier so I get more crafty time is great in my books!

I just picked up a new scrapbooking kit, Made From Scratch by Echo Park, which I just love! There are lots of food and recipe related papers, stickers, and even journalling cards - perfect for all the meal pictures that seem to find their way into my album!

Some of my journalling cards are created within the Project Life App and printed along with my photos.  For most of my pics I use the app and the photo collage to create 2x3 pictures. I can then either put them into a 4x6 spot or in the smaller pockets - and fit more pictures in my album!

I also love that I can create a whole page in my album dedicated to one theme - this one being a fun snow day with the girls!

I just love this Snowmies set from Pretty Cute Stamps! I used quite a lot of the sentiments on my journalling cards for this Snow Day page.

Snow Day!

I am so excited to bring you a pocket page layout this week as a Guest Designer for Die Cuttin' Divas as well as a feature post over at Bimini Moose Pocket Page Scrapbooking Challenge Blog!

This week I'm focusing on using diecuts in your pocket pages, and since the challenge over at Die Cuttin' Divas is Snowmen I knew I wanted to do a wintry snow day pocket page!

I started out with some pics I wanted to scrap - we had a very early start to winter here in Calgary, Alberta in Canada this year - this is a snowfall from September! Even though I am not crazy about winter - the kids were so excited to get outside, and it was a good reminder to enjoy all those little 'Life's Moments' that we sometimes miss if we don't stop for a minute. Seeing things through my kids' eyes always make me smile!

I used my Cricut Explore and Design Space to plan the diecuts I wanted to use in my pockets. I used the Cricut cartridge Winter Woodland for these cuts. I find it helps to open a rectangle and size it to 4x6 just as a base to size your diecuts (or whatever size pockets you'll be using). After I cut all my diecut pieces I put them together and added embellishments - Stickles, embossing and Distress Inks, gems, and even some stencilling! Then I combined some Bo Bunny background paper - I cut them from a 12x12 and some Bo Bunny journalling cards. I also used some stamps from Pretty Cute Stamps - they are perfect for pairing with diecuts as well as using on pocket page layouts!

Pretty Cute Stamps - November Sneak Peek!!

Oh My Goodness! You are going to love this month's releases!!! I get to feature the adorable Snowmies set from Pretty Cute Stamps November Release today :) We have had lots of snow and cold weather here already, so I have been keeping warm inside with a nice hot cup of tea and creating these cute wintry friends.

I created the background by stamping the snow stamp (think of all the fun things you could do with this!) on watercolour paper with Versamark Ink and then heat embossing with white embossing powder.  I then used a watercolour palette to swirl pretty colours in the background. I just love how the snow resists the watercolour! I handcut the snowy hills and edged them with Distress Ink and then layered the hills and Snowmies to create a scene. Love this sentiment - you could use it for a winter birthday, Christmas or just a hello card!

I used white embossing powder to stamp these sweet Snowmies on watercolour paper before painting them. Watercolouring stamped images is so easy and one of my favourite ways to colour images.

Isn't this Snowmie girl too cute?! I love her smile :)

Inside, I stamped another awesome sentiment and popped up the mitten stamps with foam tape, adding a little bakers twine - we wouldn't want their mittens to get lost!
