Merry Christmas Caroler!

Hope everyone is enjoying their Wednesday! I wanted to whip up a quick card for my daughter's music teacher and of course I had to use the adorable Little Carolers stamp set by Pretty Cute Stamps! The Believe Heidi Swapp paper from the 6x6 paper pack was perfect as well with its pretty reds and music note papers. I edged my papers with Distress Ink and punched my snowflake border strip with a scalloped edged border punch. Then I stamped the music notes on the coordinating SVG outlines and, after attaching them to my border, I added some Crystal embossing powder for shine.

I paper pieced the pretty caroler's dress with more Believe paper, coloured her in with Prismacolor Markers and layered her on a circle I diecut with my Cricut Explore. You can see a bit of the shimmer on the circle - I achieved this by rubbing my cut lightly with Versamark ink and adding some Crystal embossing powder. It gives a clear, but shiny coating after heat setting.

Crafty Fun with Project Life!

I'm sharing this pocket page scrapbook layout over at the Scrapendipity Way Of Life blog today. I used some of the cut apart journaling cards in the Shimelle True Stories paper collection, as well as cutting some of the papers into cards to fit my pockets. There are so many companies that are now including cut apart journaling cards in their paper lines, and I love that you instantly have coordinating cards and paper!

I created a tag using a 'Craft' journaling card and added some enamel dots to coordinate with the cute polka dot paper.

I cut a camera and Polaroid, and I punched some fun circles as well as hand cutting some banners- all from the papers! Don't be afraid to cut elements from your papers to create your own matching paper ephemera. A little blue ink around the edges pulled it all together. Perfect to document my daughter's crafty fun!

This cute quote, above, is a rub-on that I layered over some watercolored paper that my daughter had created with markers and a paintbrush.

For my project this week I've created a Christmas Pocket Letter to send to a friend. 

On the front of my letter I used the following Cricut cuts - 

Candy cane phrase (bottom left), ornaments (middle center) - Merry and Bright

Lamppost (middle left), bell (top center) - Christmas
Frames (top left & bottom right), tree (bottom center) - CTMH Art Philosophy

I used the Believe paper collection by Heidi Swapp that I absolutely love! Some of the papers are glittery and so beautiful. I looked through my stash of diecuts and found lots of snowflakes, Christmas trees and a string of lights to use in my pockets, along with browsing Cricut Design Space for some lovely Christmas images. I used a couple sentiments from the lovely Pretty Cute Stamps Nativity 2 stamp set and two peppermint candy cane diecuts from the PPPR Peppermint Cutting Files (bottom left). To finish off the front of my pocket letter I used a white gel pen to trace around some of the images and added some Stickles for shimmer. 

On the back these are the Cricut cuts I used -

Window, Mistletoe (bottom center) - Christmas 

Since the back side of the Believe paper is white I decided to use some Christmassy Tim Holtz stencils. I sponged on Distress Ink through the stencils with my foam applicator, not worrying if it overlapped colours a bit. 

I added some fun goodies in each pocket for my friend to use for her own crafty fun - 

Top left - snowflake die cut, Top center - adhesive flowers and diecuts, Top right - clip from Kelly Purkey's Holiday Clips by Hero Arts and mini journaling cards from the 6x6 Heidi Swapp Believe paper pad.

Middle left - More fun cuts and stamped images from Kelly Purkey's Holiday Clips by Hero Arts, Middle center - a mini file folder made using the WR Memory Keepers 123 punch board (love!!!), Middle right - yummy breakfast tea.

Bottom left - coin envelope using the WR Memory Keepers 123 punch board with diecuts inside, Bottom center - Cricut diecuts, Bottom right - sparkly bakers twine.

December Daily Layouts - Day 1-4!

After listening to a podcast with the Scrapgals a couple weeks ago on December Daily I decided I really wanted to document our December this way, but I knew I'd never have time to do a paper book. I decided to use the Project Life App and get my journaling and pics down. Then, at a later time I can either print out my layouts or use them to refer to when I print my photos and put the journaling in my Project Life scrapbook.

Here are days one through four!

I'm sharing these over on Instagram, where you can follow along as I post daily! I hope you're enjoying your December. It seems to fly by so quickly, sometimes I need a reminder to sit back and just relax a bit!

PDE Friday Linky Party - Snow Globe Card Set!

Happy Friday! I've got a project featured over at the PDE Linky Party blog today with a set of cute snow globe Christmas cards using the awesome Snow Globe stamp set by Pink and Main stamps!

I started by embossing some white cardstock and layering it on dark blue cardstock folded into a 4.25 x 5.5" card base. I couldn't decide on just one folder, so I tried several and I was really happy with the results I got with all of them!

I love this set! I stamped several of each cute image to put into my globe and coloured them with Prismacolor Markers. I stamped the snowglobes on BoBunny patterned paper and added some snowflakes on top before attaching my snow hill and coloured image. I added some white gel pen to give a bit of snowy detail.

For some of the bases I stamped on white cardstock with coloured ink and for others I stamped on patterned paper with Versamark and then embossed with clear embossing powder. I love them both ways! I didn't want to have my snowglobes floating on the card, so I used a red piece of cardstock, punched with a scalloped edge punch across the lower part of my card. A bit of that blue cardstock with some gel pen stitching a few punched snowflakes finished my cards off!

Inside - I used a holiday sentiment I had in my stash.

Cold Family Fun Layout!

I'm so excited we got skates over the weekend! My 4 and 8 year old girls are really excited to get out on the ice to try them out. I think this year will be a learning year - I haven't actually skated for quite a few years! But, I think it will be fun :) We have cold, snowy weather here in Calgary, Alberta, Canada for so many months it really seems like we have to make the best of it. There are a lot of local ice rinks as well as outdoor community rinks, so I'm hoping it will be a fun family activity!

And, since we are already planning winter activities, what better time to scrap some winter pics with this awesome BoBunny Whiteout paper collection?!! I love the glittery shimmer of these papers! I added some papers from my stash that were purples and blues to coordinate and pull in colors from the photos. I used some Distress Inks to sponge around the edges of my paper lightly and added some faux stitching with my black Smash Book pen - Love!

I cut the Family Fun tickets apart and paired them with the COLD letters that came in a coordinating BoBunny paper ephemera pack for my title.

An AC punch that I have made these awesome notebook punches at the top of my paper tag that I tucked behind my photo.

I used the sketch below as a base for my layout - I love using sketches and I find it stretches my imagination for combing patterned papers!

Scrapping Everyday Miracles - December Challenge!

It's time for a new challenge over the Scrapping Everyday Miracles blog!

I'm using the Bible Verse this month and I've created some digital art using the Rhonna Designs app. In this app you can choose a background, text, and images to arrange on your project in the size you want. I choose gold accent images and a grey background along with the silvery washi tape image along with bottom. I wanted the verse to stand out, and be complimented by the images, while keeping it feeling Christmassy.

Don't forget to see what the other Design Team members have come up with for their December projects! We always have a layout sketch, card sketch and a Bible verse to play along with, and we'd love to see what you come up with!
