Howdy Ma'am Card!

Well, Howdy!! Here in Calgary, Alberta, July is Stampede time and you'll see everyone wearing cowboy hats and boots and having lots of fun. There are pancake breakfasts, a big parade, and many Western themed festivities to celebrate. Over on the Emerald Creek Craft Supplies blog our challenge is fitting that we are daring everyone to share their projects inspired by the theme Rhinestone Cowboy! For this challenge I'm sharing a cool Color Burst galaxy background card with lots of fun embossing powders and gemstones from Emerald Creek. P.S. Your Next Stamp New Release Blog Hop!

Well hello again friends! I'm so super excited to be Guest Designing for the fantastic Your Next Stamp this month, and I can't wait to show you what I've created with their fun new stamp and die set Cool Tees for the New Release Blog Hop! If you missed the Sneak Peek Post with the adorable Card Buddies you can find that HERE. The Cool Tees stamp set is so fun with a T-shirt stamp and tons of sentiments and images you can add to it. My 12 year old daughter, Amie, actually had the idea to create a Tie-Dye T-shirt, so I pulled out my Ken Oliver Color Burst powders to get started. I had actually met Ken and taken a class over the weekend, which was fantastic, so I was all ready to get inky. There are so many great images in this stamp set that I just couldn't stop at one though!

I started off by sprinkling Color Burst powders on a piece of Bristol Cardstock and let my 7 year old, Erica, spritz it with water. She thought it was super cool the way the colours created a magical background. Then, I took the Cool Tees T-shirt stamp and stamped it on the various areas of the background. I stamped with Gina K Amalgam Black Ink - my fav right now - and then diecut the T's out with the coordinating die.

I thought I'd do some Distress Oxide Ink Blending on each background behind the T-shirts to add colour and keep with the Tie-Dye look. Here, I used Blueprint Sketch, Festive Berries and Spiced Marmelade on 110 lb white cardstock and then spritzed with water to create this awesome effect.

I coloured in each of the cute images with Copic Markers and popped them up with foam tape. A bit of Glossy Accents and white gel pen add detail. I stamped the sentiments directly onto each T-shirt. I love how versatile this set is - perfect for so many occasions.

This Distress Oxide Ink combo is Lucky Clover, Twisted Citron and Spiced Marmalade.

I cut up a 12x12 piece of Echo Park Best Summer Ever paper to used as the base of my card. A bit of Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink edges it nicely. This Thumbs Up card could be great for a congrats or graduation card!

The Distress Oxide Ink combo for this card is Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers and Salty Ocean.

This cute coffee cup makes me laugh - and there's an equally cute Monday Coffee Cup in the set 😉 I stamped some star stamps from the set on the T-shirt and added some shiny sequins for just a little more bling!

This Distress Oxide Ink combo is Wild Honey, Picked Raspberry and Peacock Feathers.

Lastly, I made a T-shirt tag using the cute frog and the YNS Cool Tag Four diecut inked with Festive Berries, Tumbled Glass and Evergreen Bough Distress Oxide Ink. This will make a perfect teacher gift for one of the amazing teachers at my girls' school - all wrapped up and ready to go!

Color Burst Christmas Cards and Video!

Hi friends! I've been in the mood for Christmas card making, so I'm back today to share a couple cards and a video using some amazing Color Burst powders! We got some snow over the weekend, and the girls and I sat at the kitchen table listening to Christmas music and making cards - so fun!

I layered on some patterned papers from my stash, first sponging around the edges with Distress Inks. I love that cute Echo Park deer paper!

Then I used white embossing powder to emboss my sentiment background image using a stamp from The Old Island Stamp Company, which is in BC Canada on watercolour paper. I tapped on some Color Burst powders in Turquoise, Lime and Fuchsia and spritzed with water - you can see how beautifully these blend in the video below!

I added a flower embellishment and some gorgeous sequins from the NEW Holly Berries mix from SpiegelMom Scraps!

Inside, I used a Christams stamp from Inkadinkado, added some Distress Ink around the edge and used sparkly Gelly Roll pens to colour the stars.

Emboss Resist and Color Burst Card!

Hey crafty friends! Hope you all had a lovely weekend and the week has started off great :) Today I'm sharing a card I made using the Emboss Resist technique. It's like magic every time I do it!

I started out by taking a stamp and inking it with Versamark Ink. After stamping on watercolor paper I heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I tapped my Color Burst powders directly onto my craft mat before spritzing with water to make an intense watercolour palette and then painted them directly onto the watercolor background. So easy!!

I added some bakers twine around a metal embellishment and added some sequins from 28 Lilac Lane to finish it off.

Color Burst Feminine Card!

I am really loving playing with my new Color Burst powders! They do such fun things when you add water to them, and I love the vibrant watercolours they make. I had fun making some background papers using them last week with my 4 year old. She thought it was really cool too! Having that pretty background already done made this card quick and easy.

I used a face stamp and words from a Dina Wakley stamp set to stamp on my Color Burst background before cutting my face out with some Spellbinder's nesting dies and then popping them up over my script paper background and washi tape.

I love the words that come with the face stamps! The butterfly stamp is from a Prima set that a friend recently sent me. After stamping I hand cut around them and glued them down in the middle only so I could pull up the wings to add some dimension.

Inside, I used this sentiment from a stamp set I love from Pink and Main - Believe Script, and used a strip of the background paper along with another butterfly.
