Pretty Cute Stamps July 2016 New Release Sneak Peeks!

I'm so excited to bring you a sneak peek at the July 2016 Digital Stamp release from Pretty Cute Stamps!

For my project today I created a tag using the Wave Borders digital stamp set. This is a super cool set! It comes with the SVG files as well as the JPEG files for these borders! This means you can cut the waves out with an electronic diecutting machine as well as printing out your waves to colour in. I've combined both these techniques on my tag and love how it turned out!

I used my Cricut to cut out these wave borders in a rectangular shape on a two toned paper and then played around with how I might layer them! I also printed the digital stamps from my computer onto white cardstock - I love the stitching lines on this wave - and I used Distress Inks to add some colour to each layer.

This sweet sailboat and sentiment are also in the new releases, from the Sail Away digital stamp set. I coloured the sailboat with Prismacolour Markers and added some Stickles to the heart. I used some Fancy Pants Design beach paper and printed the sentiment directly onto it before cutting with a Spellbinders die. I found some brown string in my stash, which I wrapped around the bottom of my tag and also used at the top with my ribbon.

I used the Anchors Aweigh digital stamp set (another new release!!) as a cut file with my Cricut Explore and cut this anchor silhouette. I decided I wanted to add a little bling - so this fun embossing powder with green and gold flecks was perfect!

After layering my waves I used my fingers to lift the edges a bit to give some dimension.

For the background I used clear embossing powder over a stenciled circle for my sun and added some pinks, oranges and blues to create a sunset. A few water droplets adds a pretty effect. The coordinating Distress Stain colours were perfect to colour in my seam binding ribbon and allowing it to dry after crinkling it up.

Be sure to head over to the Pretty Cute Stamps blog where you'll be amazed at all the awesome sneak peeks of the brand new releases available tomorrow! You'll be able to download this cute FREEBIE digi stamp while you're there!

Don't forget to come back for the blog hop tomorrow. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Flip Book Fun - Have a Magical Day!

I have been seeing so many Flip Book tutorials lately on YouTube and thought I'd try one out for a swap! It was so much fun I'm definitely going to have to try it again! I used Project Life cards from the Bloom collection to create my book, bound with Heidi Swapp washi tape.
These adorable little Lawn Fawn fairy stamps were so cute, and I thought they'd work with the flower theme. I even added some stamped and cut out images to the little Just For You pocket for my friend! These are great to use up lots of little bitty pieces of goodness in your paper collection. I added some stamps from the Believe Script stamp set by Pink and Main.
Here's a look at the book opened up inside:

Relax and Enjoy!

Hi Friends! We have really been enjoying summer and had a great long weekend, celebrating Canada Day on Friday last week. You can check out pics of our family enjoying the day here on my other blog - Amie and Erica!  I wanted to bring you a coffee card I made today using the Three Cheers Coffee Lovers digi stamp set from Verve stamps.

I used alcohol markers to colour in my image and cut the sentiment out into two banner shapes before adding Distress Inks.

I used one of the pretty two-tone Recollections doilies under my stamped image and layered everything on a top folding card.

Thanks so much for joining me today! I hope you had a lovely long weekend in your part of the world, and hope you enjoy a happy, crafty week!

FCCB #280 - National Ice Cream Day/Month

Welcome to another Challenge Me Monday...

Challenge #280 National Ice Cream Day/Month

This Weeks Sponsor is:

And we are giving away a $25 Amazon gift certificate, courtesy of Penny Light (our newest Design Team member)!

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used. If you use a Cricut Explore machine, at least one cut must be from the Cricut catalog of images.

For my project I'm using the Sweet Treats Cricut cartridge to make two sweet ice cream treat cards! Both the tags and ice creams cones come from this cartridge, and I used sentiments from the Just Chill stamp set from Pretty Cute Stamps for my tags.

I used paper from a Recollections 6x6 resist paper pad, which I watercoloured using Distress Inks.

Then, I used Distress Stains in matching colours to colour my seam binding ribbon. I love using this method to colour ribbon - and when you spritz it with water I love how the colours blend!

Finally, I added some Wink of Stella and Stickles to add some shimmer and glitter to the strawberry and sprinkles.

Here's a look at this sweet stamp set I used!

Wipe Off Memo Board Teacher Gift!

Well, we're almost to the end of June - and that means teacher gifts! We usually give gift cards to the teachers, but I think it's nice to include a little something useful as well.  I saw this cute DIY tutorial on YouTube and thought it would be quick, cute, and within our budget. Erica had 3 teachers this year in preschool, and Amie wanted one for her teacher too!

We started by picking up four pretty 4x6 photo frames at the dollar store, along with a package of wipe off markers. We then chose 4x6 Project Life Cards - I liked these lined ones so you could easily write your message,

We added the Currently stamp from Pretty Cute Stamps to the top line with black ink, inserted it into the frame and tied some baker's twine through the little hole on the top of the marker to attach it to the frame.

Lastly, we wrote a little note on the memo board before wrapping it up.

Here's a look at the Currently stamp set I used:

Mermaid Card with Digi Stamp Layering Tutorial!

Hi Friends! I hope you all had a lovely weekend. We had a lot of rain and even a little hail this weekend, but you gotta take the rain with the shine right! I'm sharing a card I made with the new Mermaid Kisses Digital Stamp this month from Pretty Cute Stamps. If you haven't checked them out you'll be amazed! They are so darn cute, and so fun to work with!!

I used some pretty papers from the Boardwalk Collection from BoBunny and layered on my printed and coloured image from the Mermaid Kisses digital stamp set. Alcohol based markers, such as Copics or Prismacolor markers, work well with injet printers. I even added some Stickles and Gelly Roll pens to my project after colouring to add some shimmer.

Inside, I added this adorable sentiment, included in the set!

I've put together a bit of a tutorial to show you how easy it is to print out a layered image using PicMonkey - a free photo editing program you open in your browser - no downloading required.

1. Open PicMonkey and choose EDIT at the top of the screen. A box will pop up allowing you to choose your JPEG image from the images you've downloaded from Pretty Cute Stamps. For this card, I chose the Lounging Mermaid. This opens it on your screen.

2. To the left of your screen you now see the Editor and you can add the stamps you want to overlay. Choose the Butterfly icon which opens Overlays and choose 'Your Own' at the top of the screen. This opens the file folder you just opened the mermaid from.

3. Choose the digital stamp you want to overlay - in the PNG format. I chose the present file - click Open.

4. This opens the digital stamp onto your background (Mermaid). You can resize your image by placing your mouse cursor at one of the corners and making it as small or large as you wish. You can even change the colour and turn your image!

5. I made my present smaller and placed it on her hand as if she was holding it. For my actual card you can see I put a cupcake in her hand and added two layered presents in different sizes at the bottom.

7. You can even add a sentiment directly to the image! When you have your image just the way you want it you can save it by clicking Save at the top of the screen, then Save To My Computer on the left of the screen. MAKE SURE TO SAVE YOUR FILE AS A DIFFERENT NAME THOUGH so you don't overwrite the original file!

Now you can print your file from your computer, colour and enjoy!! Think how cute this image would be printed in a larger size and framed!

Pocket Letter using Scrapbook Supplies!

Hi crafty friends!! We are starting to have some lovely weather here in Calgary, Alberta, and since you never know when that will change we've been trying to enjoy as much as we can of it. When I do get a minute to be crafty, one of the things I do love to do is create something out of my scrapbook supplies even if I'm not scrapbooking!

Today, I'm sharing an eye spy pocket letter with you that I made for a swap in one of the Facebook groups I'm in. For the background papers for my pocket cards I used the 6x6 BoBunny paper pads from the Believe and Butterfly Kisses collections. I just love the papers in both of these collections! The Believe papers especially have a mixed media layered look to them that is so pretty.

I included at least one of each eye spy item on my page:
- Owl, Heart, Key, Cupcake, Mason Jar, Butterfly, Clock, Crown and Coffee Cup

I pulled out lots of stamps, including stamps from Pretty Cute Stamps, Tim Holtz, Imaginesce and Graphic 45 and whatever else I felt would work with this pretty letter.

I added some Tim Holtz Chit Chat stickers and used some Stickles and Glossy Accents along with a doily that I cut up and some washi tape for closing up the pockets with beads and sequins on the back.

On the back, I added some goodies for my partner and a note from me.

I love that these pocket letters can fold into thirds and fit into an A10 envelope! I decorated my envelope with some Tim Holtz stencils and coordinating stamps and some Distress Inks.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I'd love to hear what you've made lately with your papercrafting supplies!
