A+ Teacher Card!

Hi there crafty friends!! I'm sharing a teacher card today using a Stamping Bella teacher stamp I've had in my stash for quite some time now - but still love! I actually made this for my daughter's teacher at the end of the year in June, but I think it could totally be used for a September new teacher card!

I stuck with a pretty basic design on a 5.5"x 5.5" top folding card base, using some BoBunny papers along with the blue and white polka dot paper. I love the primary colour scheme!

I used some Prismacolor and Hobby Colour Markers, which are alcohol based to colour in my image before mounting it on some red patterned paper. The shiny blue pearls from 28 Lilac Lane add just the right shimmer and matched perfectly. I was so excited to see that Selena from my local Canadian scrapbook store, Scrapendipity, had them in her store and online! If you're shopping in the US, you can find them at the Buttons Galore and More website.

Inside, I used some cute sentiments that came with the set!

There's something fun about a top folding card!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I'd love to hear whether you give teacher cards other times of the year and not just holidays or end of the year! Have a wonderful, happy and crafty week!

FCCB #285 - Embossing!

Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge!

Challenge #285-Embossing
Create a project that features wet or dry embossing!

This Weeks Sponsor

The prize is 7 digital stamps!

And we are giving away a $25 Amazon gift certificate, courtesy of the FCCB Design Team!

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used. If you use a Cricut Explore machine, at least one cut must be from the Cricut catalog of images.

Here is my project using the super cute Bugaboo Brat School Crayon Girl digital stamp and Cricut CTMH Artistry and Basic Shapes cartridges. I created a circular card base by welding two circles together, and then cut this cool globe shape to fit on the front.

Since our theme this week is Embossing, I chose to use a flower embossing folder to emboss the top green cut from my globe, as well as the ruler, which I also highlighted with Distress Ink. Some awesome Distress Crayons add some fun effects as well! I finished it off with a few pretty sequins - I'm totally addicted to these lately!

I used alcohol based Prismacolor and Hobby Colour Markers to colour in this cute Crayon Girl image and then added on some Stickles for glittery shine!

The stamp set Color My World from Pretty Cute Stamps was the perfect addition! I heat embossed the sentiment on the geotag, which was cut from the Artistry cartridge and then edged my circle with Versamark before applying this cool Verdigris embossing powder from Ranger. I love the flecks of gold in this powder! I popped up the center to give it some extra dimension.

Inside, I used some more stamps from the Color My World stamp set and added some more Tim Holtz Distress Crayons.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Don't forget to head over to the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog to see what all the other sponsors have come up with - and enter your own project using a Cricut cut for a chance to win!

Autumn Blessings Card!

Hey Crafty Friends! It's certainly feeling like fall around here, and I think the saying applies "if you can't beat them - join them", applies here! I thought I'd share a fall card I made using some Recollections and BoBunny cardstocks and a couple diecut fall leaves layered over some bakers twine along with sequins and a pretty button from the 28 Lilac Lane Collections!

Our Thanksgiving here in Canada is a lot earlier than the US, so it never hurts to start early to have a few extra Thanksgiving cards on hand. I love this pretty sentiment from the Thankful stamp set from Pink and Main - that script is just so lovely!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have you started making fall - or dare I say Christmas - cards yet?! I must confess, I'm thinking about it already ;) Wishing you a very happy, and very crafty week!

Aspen Beach Pocket Page Scrapbook Layout!

I have one more camping pocket page layout to share with you this week! This was the drive we took to get to our camping spot, which you can see two more layouts about in yesterday's post - here - and I wanted to document our journey there.

I used the Simple Stories Summer Vibes collection, which included some beautiful papers and cut apart journaling cards, and I even cut some elements out of the papers to use as embellishments along with the pretty sequins from SpiegelMom Scraps!

I love the pretty summer colours in this collection and this adorable camper!!

Thanks so much for joining me today! I hope you have a wonderful week - and don't forget you can use the code KARLA15 all September to save 15% on your order at the SpiegelMom Scraps Shop!

Camping Pocket Pages!

Well, September is here and we've headed back to school! It's all very exciting - Amie is in Grade 4 and loving it! I am still not quite ready to let the summer go yet though, so I've been working on scrapping some of those fun camping photos from my stash.

I used lots of adorable images from the May and June digital stamp releases from Pretty Cute Stamps, along with Simple Stories Summer Vibes papers and journaling cards and sequins from SpiegelMom Scraps - slipped them in some pocket pages and now they're ready to place in my album!

Whenever I get new digital stamp images I open them in a word processing program and make a printable sheet that I have all ready to print onto white cardstock as many times as I need. Whenever I have a few extra minutes I grab my alcohol based markers and colour them up and cut them out. Now they're ready to use directly on my photos or journaling cards, similar to a sticker! I added this cute beaver from the Beavers Digital Stamp set right on the Simple Stories card and added a fun sequin from the SpiegelMom Scraps Shop

I sponged on a bit of Distress Ink around the edges of my sentiments from the Summer Fun and Summer Memories sets before adding them to my pages, and below I layered on this adorable lantern from the Shine Bright Digital Stamp set and a few more sequins before hand writing my journaling. I hand cut some of the images from the Simple Stories collection to layer in my pocket elements as well.

For my second page I had some fun food and s'mores pics - and couldn't wait to use these adorable images from the S'mores and S'mores Sentiments Digital Stamp sets!

Of course, you have to have a campfire to roast your marshmallows, and this cute little fire from the Light My Fire set was just the right thing!

I actually printed my sentiments from Happy Camper Sentiments and S'mores Sentiments directly on the woodgrain journaling cards by printing them first on white paper and then taping them down in place over the area I had already printed on so I could line them up how I wanted them. These cute little hearts from the Beavers set added another sweet embellishment. I love how cute the S'mores look inside this coordinating Simple Stories frame!

Here's a look at all the awesome Pretty Cute Stamps Digital Stamps I used:

Today's talented blog hop line up is:
For my project today I've used the fun cut files available for FREE from the SpiegelMom Scraps Blog and the super awesome sequins from the store! My girls (now 4 and 9) both love to read, and I love this photo of them a few years ago pouring over a book!

I recently picked up the Pink Paislee Take Me Away collection and wanted to use it on this layout. I love the colours, and the fun sequins matched beautifully! I used the orange sequins from A Day In The Woods to highlight the cute hearts on this paper strip.

The pink, yellow and blue sequins from Spring Blooms were awesome scattered over my page! I used them on the journaling card behind my photo, on the pretty flower diecuts, and on the bottom of my page beside the great books diecut!

The lovely blue sequins from A Mermaid's Tale were perfect to decorate the diecut title, which I cut from white cardstock and coloured with Prismacolor alcohol markers, and the tiny (oh so cute!) silver star sequins were just right for the book spines and on the journaling card behind my photo. I love the strips of papers in the Take Me Away papers, and found some words that fit into the openings of the books. Some stitching around my page finished it off!

I'd love for you be in the running for the $10.00 shop credit, so be sure to leave comments on all the blogs to be entered! You have through September 6th to comment and enter.
